3. Oracle Park

Oracle Park is simply an unmatched experience that combines charm, character, and breathtaking views into one ballpark. Opened in the year 2000 with a design to complement its former and historic shipping and warehouse neighborhood, Oracle Park has been named by Forbes Magazine as "America's Most Beautiful Baseball Park." Oracle Park features unique attractions on both its left and right fields. The left field features the giant Coca Cola bottle that also functions as a giant slide along with the world's largest baseball glove giving the park a sense of childlike whimsy. However, it is McCovey Cove just behind the right field that is the real center of attention. Named after Giant's legend Willie McCovey, this cavernous cove offers fans the chance to catch a splash hit - home runs that plop down upon the wispy waves of San Francisco Bay. All told, Oracle Park is an unforgettable adventure that is the pride of Giants fans and a must see for baseball fans everywhere.

4. San Francisco

Often shrouded by dense fog and tucked inside its eponymous bay, San Francisco is packed with diverse cultures, scenic beauties, and fascinating stories. Though it was founded by the Spanish in 1776, it only started shining in the spotlight when gold was discovered in 1848. That ensuing California Gold Rush helped to make the City by the Bay into a burgeoning hub for commerce and culture within the American West. Continuing to grow and thrive throughout its rich history, San Francisco has become an epicenter for technological and socio-political progress.

Like the city itself, the San Francisco skyline is brimming with unique eccentricities. Its architectural landscape includes the beautiful Beaux-Arts Flood Building, the imposing Neo-Gothic Russ Building, and the beloved modernist Transamerica Pyramid. In short, San Francisco has an unmatched vibrancy that beckons visitors and residents alike to this gilded city on a hill.

5. Coit Tower

Atop Telegraph Hill sits Coit Tower, a slender, Art Deco-style tower that stands at 210 feet tall. Built in 1933, Coit tower was funded by a bequest from Lillie Hitchcock Coit, a wealthy socialite who left a portion of her estate to the city. Coit Tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of San Francisco, including vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, and the city skyline. Inside the tower, visitors can also admire a series of murals created during the Great Depression as part of a government-funded art project. Coit Tower is both an architectural gem and a cultural landmark, drawing tourists and locals alike to its spectacular vantage point and historical significance.

8. Treasure Island

Treasure Island is a unique and historic man-made island located in the San Francisco Bay mid-way between the City and the East Bay, and accessible by ferry, water taxi or auto using the Bay Bridge. Originally constructed in the 1930's for the Golden Gate International Exposition, the island was later used as a naval base during World War II. After the war, the island became a naval training center until it was decommissioned in 1997. 9. Painted Ladies / Alamo Square

Alamo Square is best known for its large picturesque park, chic Victorian houses, and spectacular views of the city skyline. Dubbed by Mayor James Van Ness in 1856, Alamo Square became heavily landscaped during the 1890’s. This led to a massive building boom in the area that produced many stunning houses. Among these are Matthew Kavanagh’s iconic 'Painted Ladies', which serves as the perfect backdrop for any San Francisco postcard. A Historic District since 1984, Alamo Square provides visitors and residents alike with plenty of opportunities to take splendid pictures and enjoy its charming ambiance.

10. San Francisco Ferry Building

What makes the Ferry Building San Francisco’s most illustrious landmark? Simply put, it’s due to its strategically centralized location on Market Street, its history as the city’s primary transportation portal, and its dramatic clock tower. Opened in 1898, the Ferry Building became the focal point for anyone arriving by boat, as passengers became entranced with its elegantly repeating arches and overhead skylights. Sadly, the good times ended as the opening of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges in the 1930’s made commuting by ferry essentially obsolete. Thankfully, the Ferry Building was revitalized when it reopened in 2003. The Ferry Building now features a world class public food Marketplace that serves a mouthwatering cornucopia of cuisines from around the Bay Area. Whether you’re having a quick bite, traveling by boat, or just admiring its architectural beauty, there’s really nothing quite like the San Francisco Ferry Building.
