The Greta Photo Book is a new initiative from the Perth-based Colosoul Group Inc, a youth based media and arts training centre and creative incubator. The project will see the online publication of a new monthly magazine entitled the Greta Photo Book. The Book invites young people aged 17 to 26 residing in Australia to submit their own creative and artistic photography for publication. The Greta team consists of a dedicated group of young volunteers, guided by Colosoul Group Inc CEO Tricia Ray. The group works on a volunteer basis and each week dedicates days of their time to creating and furthering the Greta project. The Greta project aims to encourage youth participation in the arts through the accessible, versatile and highly expressive medium of photography. The Book also serves as a platform for emerging talent to receive both community and industry recognition and accolade.

Tricia Ray Tricia is the founder of the Colosoul Group Inc. Previously, she has worked closely with several community-based organisation’s and charities. She now devotes her time to running the Colosoul Group’s various ventures. Her favourite singer is Bjork and she likes to shop at vintage stores.

Alex Bates Alex is the new Editor (and also a photographer) of the Greta Photo Book. She got involved with the Colosoul Group at the end of 2010. Alex is currently studying photography at ECU and would love to make photo books for a living one day. Her favourite musician is singer/songwriter Laura Marling and she likes the UK store Topshop.

Michelle Tempest Michelle has just boarded the Greta team and now acts as the project’s personal journalist and pr/marketing girl. Michelle has just graduated from Curtin with a degree in PR and Journalism. She likes RnB singer B.O.B. and enjoys shopping anywhere, but in particular the clothing store Ally.

Oskar Guevara Oskar is our graphic designer for the Greta Photo Book. Oskar comes all the way from Columbia and is lending his talent to us for a few months. He listens to Roger Waters and Metallica and loves to shop at Toxic Records.

Christine Kopti Photographer

Creating a vision. capturing it’s soul. an eye for beauty. a love for camera. living for the moment.

Christine says her photographic style has been

described as edgy, contemporary & eclectic. It is expressive, colourful, bold and most importantly tells a story.

She always planned to work in a creative field, studying Multimedia at uni, however she wasn’t sure exactly where to go. Graphic design was her initial choice but, after taking just a few units, photography captured her interest and Christine “fell in love”.

With her Canon 50D in hand, Christine admits “I left Uni inspired and ready to get hands on and do things my way!” And that inspiration comes from a multitude of places. From a magazine, movie, or quote to a fashion garment, all these items get Christine’s mind “buzzing”. Upon graduating Christine faced the dreaded question of “what now?” She worked several graphic jobs and spread her photography through word of mouth and online sites including Facebook and Redbubble, an online creative community that “created greater opportunities to work with some incredible people”. Christine has since combined her skills to become a part time graphics and freelance photographer.

While

establishing herself Christine recalls what she loves about her favourite photographer - David La Chapelle. “Like many artists I know, the reason why we love his work so much is because he is smart! He knows how to appeal to audiences visually, mentally and provide a long lasting impression.” Photography means different things to everyone. For

“photography is my world, my passion, a significant form of creative expression used to produce something visually pleasing.” Christine,
