Aleksandar Markovic is currently doing a double major in photography and graphic design at Curtin University. Initially wanting to pursue fashion design, the ability to present a perspective which defies normal reality drew him towards fashion photography. Using concepts of nature, dreams and tales, his main focus is to present how the aesthetic qualities of fashion can recreate the ideals of reality within the environment and the model. The photographs exhibited here were taken from separate series and were inspired by the concept of time travel, cyborg beauties, internal plagues and the morph from human to nature.

Tyron Hug has carried a camera around with him since he was first handed down one from his mother when he was a teenager. He started shooting his friends skateboarding and found a love for street photography and capturing the weird and wonderful things he comes across in every day life. The photos exhibited here were taken whilst exploring new places while he was travelling.

was born and raised in former Yugoslavia moving to Australia at the age of 11. Interested in film photography in high school once she finished she attempted a diverse range of courses at university but my true passion and keen eye for detail led her back to studying photography at Edith Cowan University. This is where her interest in fashion-based photography began as she started to shoot on digital formats. As one of the top 15 students selected to participate in a photojournalism trip to Bangladesh, she began to get comfortable in unfamiliar environments and develop her skills further. Tijana is now a professional photographer and photo retoucher based in Perth with a BA in Creative Industries and a photo media major.

Tanya Voltchanskay is a freelance photographer and filmmaker most interested in live music and portraiture. She doesn't have a single set inspiration to what got her to where she is today however she has always loved capturing the moment. In high school she got familiar with SLR cameras, 35mm and the dark room and then began shooting local bands, her friends and her surroundings when she was travelling which lead her to the portraits, live music and street photography she does now.

Boonzaier is currently studying Photography and Illustration at Curtin University and was drawn to photography after seeing her dad's old photo slides. Whilst she most interest in event and fashion photography for Mental Health Week she has explored the prevailing issues of Rape/Abuse culture within society, and all mediums of media. By juxtaposing beauty/sexualisation she is asking the viewer: 'Whilst you may question why I have taken these photos and applied that sort of make up, do you actively question what you see in the media about women and their sexuality, what you hear when another person jokes about rape, or your acceptance of these portrayal of women in the media and of rape in our culture and society?'

has just moved to Perth after living in London and travelling around Europe for the past eighteen months. Inspired by both the diverse nature and scenery she has seen around the world and by capturing the female form she combines these two elements in her work. Dan Brady is a self taught fashion, beauty, editorial, commercial, and advertising photographer based in Perth. Albeit a newcomer to the industry, he is already making his mark in the Australian high fashion photography realm, being published fourteen times in less than a year. Dan’s work has been featured in magazines such as Ellements, Grazia, Dark Beauty, Institute and BeautyLook. Dan prides himself in working closely with his design team to achieve the team’s mutual goals, thereby showcasing everyone’s work in the very best light. His ability to capture the ethereal beauty in life is inescapable, each image evoking emotion; while always retaining a high fashion emphasis.

Chris Coiffic is a Finance Officer exploring his creativity through self-taught in photography and is currently doing a Diploma in Photography online through The Photography Institute. He was drawn to photography because he loves the way you can take a photo and that many years later it would evoke a memory of what happened in that particular moment like nothing else does. The series shown here was taken for the Mental Health Awareness and he drew on personal experience as well as being a psychiatric nurse for five years to create a visual representation of depression and the vicious cycle it can be when you’re fighting yourself all the time.
