5 myths about CSG
1
Myth:
The Real Story:
Uniforms make us uniform.
In fact, the effect is quite the opposite. When girls aren’t worried about how they look or what to wear, they can focus on what’s important: who they really are.

Myth:
The Real Story:
The commute is too long.
Although the majority of our girls can take a bus, or even walk or ride a bike to school, some parents drive quite a distance. Several come from as far away as Mechanicsburg, Lancaster, and Newark. They don’t mind, however, because they believe that the education their daughters are getting is worth a little time in the car. In fact, car time becomes bonding time, and those parents wouldn’t give up a single minute.

Myth:
The Real Story:
We don’t know any boys.
Of course CSG girls talk to boys. Not only do they see them in places like the neighborhood, at parties, and at the movies, but CSG sponsors coed events as well, like dances, block parties, and theater productions. The only place they don’t talk to boys is in class, where we teach them the value of their own voice. Since they are empowered to use that voice with confidence, they have healthier interactions with boys wherever they see them.

Myth:
The Real Story:
Girls here are sheltered from the real world.
There’s a difference between nurturing (which we do) and babying (which we don’t). We create a safe environment for girls to try new things and find out who they are. Faculty and staff know each girl as an individual and understand the best ways to bring out the best in her. Girls sharpen their skills and build their confidence. Really, it’s the best possible preparation you can get to tackle the real world head on.

Myth:
The Real Story:
The price is too high.
At CSG, girls are not only prepared to excel in college, but are given the foundation to lead a life without limits. That kind of foundation is priceless. Just like you, we believe that there’s no other investment that will ever be more important than your daughter’s future.
