Face to face with the future of healthcare As health economists, doctors, politicians, managers and everyone else with a stake in the future of UK healthcare wrestle with the profoundly complex challenges of delivering more for less in an increasingly demanding financial environment; a few simple truths about commissioning have emerged: First, change is an absolute certainty. Given the ageing population, the need to save £20bn in five years and the ever increasing availability of new therapies and treatments, there is only one way to square the circle: the system has to change and it has to change now. Second, change and its implementation is an organic process rather than an event. It isn’t going to happen at the same speed everywhere but it has already started and, in some areas, has already been dramatic. So, while there is still considerable debate about the detail, there appears to be no turning back from the drive for productivity and the creation of a new landscape for the £60bn primary care commissioning budget. Third, for suppliers like you where there is change there is also opportunity. And those organisations that get in now know that they will be best placed to help doctors and managers in the new Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) achieve the ultimate objective of all this organisational angst: better patient outcomes at lower cost.

“Commissioning 2011 was wellplanned and created the opportunity to launch our new solutions to support joined up healthcare and clinical commissioning groups. I will certainly be recommending the event and we will look forward to exhibiting at Commissioning 2012.”

You can find out more about our 2012 programme in the enclosed sponsorship brochure. • Managing long-term conditions • Integrated care • Productivity through technology • Clinical Commissioning Groups of the future • Health and Wellbeing Boards: productive relationships • Facilitating healthcare solutions

Two new streams have been added to the conference programme, increasing the appeal of the show to a wider breadth of delegates including the technology community, health and social care professionals, community nursing, and pharmacy managers. This unique delegate mix will allow exhibitors to access the full spectrum of decision makers within commissioning.

An integrated social media platform will allow delegates to share their experiences with others and discuss what they have learned. Combined with downloadable content this will dramatically increase the brand exposure for exhibitors, well beyond the confines of a traditional two-day show.

Engage with content online

• Ready-made delegate pool, with 96% planning to re-attend • Engaging, topical seminar programme to attract high quality delegates

Delegate generated content This platform also allows delegates to join facilitated learning sessions and round tables. They can even create their own sessions around the topics that matter most to them and to invite like-minded colleagues to join them. In such a dynamic environment where the hot topics can change daily, this will ensure that every delegate has the opportunity to come away with the solutions they need.

• GPs • Practice managers • CCG board members and managers • PCT Cluster/national board directors, mangers and responsible officers

An innovative delegate booking platform opens up new opportunities for networking, both in the run up to the show and beyond. Delegates will be able to create a bespoke conference programme for themselves, combining their selections from the formal sessions with facilitated networking and face to face peer meetings. They will also be able to book time directly with expert suppliers for in-depth discussion of the issues they face, giving a valuable opportunity for uninterrupted quality time with decision makers who are highly disposed to your product or service.

Time and time again our exhibitors tell us that getting access to the right decision makers for quality discussions is a challenge. Commissioning is designed to support exhibitors in getting face to face with the professionals who will influence the direction of commissioning.

With an expanded audience and enhanced delegate recruitment campaign, in excess of 3000 healthcare professionals should walk through the doors at Olympia next June.
