It’s about commissioners not commissioning

Managing long-term conditions

Following a launch that exceeded all expectations, Commissioning has quickly positioned itself as the healthcare exhibition for those involved in the commissioning process. Combining a two-day conference with a tightly focussed exhibition, it is a unique opportunity to get face to face with delegates from grass roots GPs to some of the most senior decision makers within healthcare commissioning.

There are 15.4 million people in England with at least one long-term condition, and it is thought many more are not yet diagnosed. Current policy on long-term conditions seeks to reduce this burden through prevention and developing services that enable people to remain living independently in their own homes. It also seeks to empower patients, give them information about their condition and offer them choice about where and how they are treated.

The focus of Commissioning 2012 is high quality dialogue; allowing delegates, industry experts and suppliers to discuss ideas, raise questions and most importantly find answers. Most delegates intend to leave Olympia with practical solutions they can swiftly implement in their own areas.

Benefits of sponsoring Sponsoring an activity at the show opens up a range of additional ways to increase your presence before thousands of primary care decision makers. From increased brand awareness, to allowing you to communicate your key messages directly to targeted groups of delegates, our flexible sponsorship packages can help you meet a range of marketing objectives. Based on delegate and exhibitor feedback, we have added some exciting new options for 2012, including one-to-one expert surgeries, round table discussions and facilitated learning sessions; all great ways to reach the decision makers most interested in your products and services.

A programme featuring the who’s who of commissioning Commissioning 2012 aims to deliver a blend of practical advice, real solutions, facilitated learning and networking that clinicians and managers can take back to their day to day roles. Six streams cover a range of key interests and responsibilities. Uniting all streams is the recurring theme of delivering better patient care. 27— 28 June 2012 | Olympia London

FACE TO FACE WITH THE FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE

Productivity through technology Primary care has more challenges now than ever, with expectation that CCGs will deliver high quality services and cost savings. When we asked GPs what were their top priorities for 2012, over a quarter believed innovative use of technology would be one of the most effective solutions to improving productivity and patient care. Inspired by this swell of interest, this stream looks at different uses and solutions that technology can offer primary and social care services. The stream offer case studies and expert advice, with a particular focus on mobile and tele-health solutions. Main audience: PCT commissioners and GPs with an interest in practical solutions

Clinical Commissioning Groups of the future

Health and Wellbeing Boards: productive relationships

So much of commissioning focuses on patient outcomes, service redesigns and quality, but without the financial and management to support leaders, clinicians and commissioners it would not happen. Delivering CCGs of the future aims to identify the challenges of the next 12 months for leaders and managers from commissioning groups and practices and offer practical advice and expert opinion on how to overcome these challenges.

Many local authorities have instigated a Health and Wellbeing Board, with the aim of creating unity between the NHS and local services. The purpose of the boards is to bring together those who buy services across the NHS, public health, social care and children’s services, elected representatives and representatives from HealthWatch to plan the right services for their area, in a holistic way.

Main audience: GPs, CCG managers, PCT commissioners, practice managers
