Thomas D. NOYES AGE 77 - OTSEGO, MI

Tom passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 in Kalamazoo. He was born November 29, 1944 in Allegan, the son of Sherley and Mary (Blonshine) Noyes. Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam as a missile technician. For over 40 years he worked at Parker Hannifin until his retirement. He also taught at KVCC for over 30 years. Tom loved aviation and got his pilot’s license before his driver’s license. He was a member of the Marshall Soaring Club. He also enjoyed remote controlled airplanes and collecting tractors. Tom was very handy and mechanically inclined and was able to fix just about anything. On August 12, 1966 in Watson Township, he married Elaine Powless who survives. Also surviving are his children, Lisa Noyes, Zach Noyes and Judd Noyes all of Kalamazoo; sister, Sue Weiland of California along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Steve and brother, Joe Noyes. Friends may visit with Tom’s family starting at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Steve Smail officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego. Military Honors by Otsego VFW Post #3030. Contributions in memory of Tom may be made to the Marshall Soaring Club.

Nellie Pegg, 89, passed away January 15th, 2022 in Kalamazoo after a long battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. Nellie was born in Otsego, Michigan in 1932 to Ray and Marian Linsley. She grew up in Otsego with five brothers and sisters and graduated from Otsego High School in 1950. She married Kenneth Pegg in 1950 shortly after graduation and was married to him for 50 years before he died in the year 2000. She was a devoted wife and mother-intelligent, hard-working and resolute. She delighted in her grand-children and great-grandchildren and she loved to sit on the floor and play pick up sticks or Old Maid with them. She was a compulsive walker – even in the last year of her life, walking quickly for 2 or 3 miles around her neighborhood early in the morning. So many memories - hanging upside down on a zip line at age 80 with a huge grin on her face; rooting for the Detroit Tigers; relaxing with a whiskey sour at the end of a long day and if she disagreed with you – it was “Whatever!”. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband Ken and all of her siblings. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Tim) Baube of Bloomington, MN and Sallie (Skip) Bladen of Kalamazoo. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren Stefan (Heather) Bladen, Shane (Kim) Bladen, Laura (Jay) Olweean, Seth (Stacy) Bladen, Shannon (Aaron) Pitre, Rachel Bomeli, Stacey (Craig) Lancour, Sarah Baube, Deborah Baube, Sam (Morgan) Bladen, and 19 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. A Visitation will be held in Plainwell on Friday, January 21st from 10am to 11am at Avink McCowen Secord Funeral Home; 120 S. Woodhams St. Plainwell MI 49080. Rudy passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, surrounded by his family at Allegan General Hospital. He was born March 26, 1930, to Vincent and Eloisa (Abrego) Reyes in Austin, Texas. Rudy worked for Stryker, Clarage Fan and Hillside Cemetery. He enjoyed playing baseball, following the Detroit Tigers and playing his accordion. Rudy was a people person and enjoyed sharing a conversation with anyone who crossed his path. He loved reading especially his Bible and encyclopedias. Rudy was a resident at William Crispe Community House until it closed. On September 8, 1951 he married Anita Olivarri who passed away in 2004. Surviving are his children, Frances (Gary Leonard) DeKoning of Mattawan, Evie (Allie III) Watkins of Plainwell and Dodi (Bob) Watkins of Mattawan; step-sons, Nick Trevino and Louie Trevino; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elvira Perez of Texas along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Reynoldo; son-in-law, William DeKoning; grandson, Orlando Trevino and siblings, Oscar Reyes and Olivia Anthony. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 21, 2022 at Oakhill Cemetery in Orangeville, with Pastor Dan Beyer officiating. Contributions in memory of Rudy may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice of Allegan or Gun Lake Community Church.

Timothy Glenn Guerin, age 60, passed away with family by his side on January 13th, 2022. Tim was born in Allegan, Michigan on July 7, 1961, to Norman and Nellie “Pearl” (Mealy) Guerin. He grew up in Plainwell with his older brother Norm and his younger sister Maria. Tim is survived by his two daughters Rose (Angel) Wolfe of Alaska and Amanda (Lexy) Guerin of Pullman; Nine grandchildren; his siblings Norm Guerin and Maria Slentz. Tim was preceded in death by his parents. Tim enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing fetch with his dog Jack. He also loved to work on cars, go camping with family and cooking on his grill Hoggy. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is being planned for the spring. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society.

Robert FULKERSON AGE 78 - OTSEGO, MI

At the age of 78, Robert Dale Fulkerson passed away Friday night, January 14, 2022. Bob was born in Metropolis, IL, on June 6, 1943, the son of Robert Truman and Elizabeth (Sisk) Fulkerson. On May 1, 1997, he married Sue Horton who survives him. Bob proudly served his nation in the United States Air Force. He was an avid golfer when he was not busy working as the owner of Subway in Paw Paw. Nothing was more important to him than his family with whom he loved spending time. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Vincent (Lindsey) Horton of St. Joseph; granddaughters, Sue Ascencio, and Leah Horton on the way; siblings, Rosalie (Tom) Lajiness, Sherrie (Steve) Eddy, Ray (Sharon) Fulkerson; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister. A private memorial gathering is being planned. Bob will be laid to rest with full military honors at Ft. Allegan County families choosing cremation can now receive stone-like solidified remains that can be touched, held, and shared. Tim Secord, owner of the funeral home notes: “So many families have asked me to split the ashes so they can spread or bury some and keep some with them. Or they will have us split the ashes among multiple family members. Partnering with Parting Stones gives families another option and the

response has been very positive.” The solidification process returns the full amount of cremation remains in a solid and clean form that resembles a collection of polished stones. The average person results in about 40-60 solids ranging in size from thumb-nail up to palm-size. The color of each person’s solidified remains is 100% natural and many result in white stones, but some are a hue of blue, green, or another radical variation. “It is a profound opportunity to live with the remains of our loved ones, but conventional cremated remains make that experience uncomfortable,” says Parting Stone founder and CEO Justin Crowe. “We developed an alternative to conventional cremated remains to help families feel a meaningful connection with their departed. Editing the website and creating social media posts. 5. Handle large volumes of mail and drive locally for errands. 7. Assist in assuring compliance in maintaining voter and election records online and in the paper filing system after attending the provided and required federal training program. 8. Issue Passports after attending the provided federal Passport Acceptance Agent training. 9. Organize documents into a numeric filing system. 10. Data entry into computer databases including the handling of death certificates and cemetery records. 11. Answer and transfer phone calls to the appropriate department. 12. Marley is a true sweetie and will make a great companion for someone looking for a mellow girl with some playfulness to keep you entertained. Her favorite toys at the shelter are a rope toy and a Kong Wubba. She enjoys being pet and being talked to (or sung to - she doesn't care if you know the words or sing in tune). Marley is 4 years old, and weighs approximately 53 pounds. She has lived with another dog (male, senior large dog) before so she is a candidate to join a home with another dog. She seems to prefer the company of calm dogs that want to hang out versus play, wrestle, etc. However, Marley would also be just fine as the only pet in the home to receive all the love. She will need a cat-free home. Marley would love to have some kids in her life. It is recommended that any children in the home are around 10 years old and up and be respectful of pets.
