He is a sweet guy and will surely bring one family a lot of love and entertainment! Teemo could be a great scouting buddy through wooded trails. He enjoys checking out the various smells and makes each walk an adventure. Teemo is 3 years old and weighs approximately 55 pounds. He will need to be the only pet in his forever home because he finds cats too interesting and he doesn’t like to share his yummy food. It is recommended that any children in Teemo's forever home are teenagers. Unfortunately, Teemo did test positive for heartworms. He has started the slow kill method of treatment and is doing great! Everyone loves a winner! Everyone wants to be on the winning side! As believers in the living Christ, we want the world to share in our Lord’s victory over death.
Former United Methodist Bishop Kenneth Goodson told the story about a famous painting of the crucifixion that was placed on display in a downtown store window in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, during Holy Week one year. It was very graphic and showed blood dripping down from the crown of thorns. Some people looking at it became emotional. Early one morning a businessman stopped to look at the painting alongside a newspaper boy who was making his early morning deliveries. After a few moments of silence, the business man slowly walked away shaking his head, wiping tears from his eyes and saying, “What a pity! What a shame!”
The newspaper boy observed this and, as the man was walking across the street, the boy shouted to him, “Hey, Mister! Didn’t you know? Haven’t you heard? He’s alive! He’s alive!”
This is our message to an unbelieving world: He’s alive! Hate could not defeat Him. Death could not destroy Him. The tomb could not hold Him. Truth wins! Faith wins! Hope wins! Love wins!
Through His victory over sin and death, Jesus opened the way to eternal life for all who believe. The mystery of human suffering and death will be revealed. We shall “know and be known” (I Corinthians 13:12). Our tears of sadness will be turned into tears of gladness. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain …” (Revelation 21:4).
There are at least two truths to remember: 1) Jesus is alive! 2) Jesus shares His victory over death with us. Thus we can say with Apostle Paul, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

Eunice WILLIAMS Eunice passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at Stanford Lodge in Plainwell. She was born September 8, 1923 in Martin, the daughter of John Sr. and Mattie (DenHouten) Bishop. Eunice was a 1941 Martin High School graduate and lifelong resident of the area. She was an active member of East Martin Christian Reformed Church and loved spending time with her family. In 1944 she married Alfred Williams who passed away in 2003. Surviving are her children, Char (Marv) DeMann of Martin, Lois Smith of Paw Paw, Karen (Dave) Misner of Martin, Dwight Williams of Florida and Audrey (Pete) Mulder of Martin; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Michael DeMann and siblings, Marian, Al, John and Foster. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 1, 2021. Pastor Derek Noorman officiated. Burial followed at East Martin Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Eunice may be made to East Martin Christian Reformed Church. Where Volunteers Make It Happen.
Frank passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the Timbers of Cass County. He was born March 16, 1936 in Evanston, Illinois, the son of Frank and Marion (Ekkila) Rayburn. Frank attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois and graduated in 1954. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1958 on the USS Tombigbee. He was stationed on the west coast and transported airplane fuel to Hawaii and the Arctic Circle. Frank worked at Parker Hannifin for 30 years, Eaton Corporation for 5 years and retired from Parker Aerospace in 2001. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and wood working. He was a member the Otsego Elks Lodge. On July 10, 1962 in Chicago he married Barbara Kostecki who passed away in 2019. Surviving are his children, Wayne (Kim) Rayburn and Lisa Engelter; daughter-in-law, Teresa Rayburn; 8 grandchildren, Cari, Kellie, Jessica, Daniel, Josh, Kyle, Hayden and Sam; several greatgrandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Todd Rayburn; son-in-law, Rob Engelter; twin granddaughters; siblings, Lois and Nancy and his dog, Emma. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Private family burial of ashes with Military Honors will take place at 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 30, 2021 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. TeenServe coming this summer to Plainwell, Mi! TeenServe has organized 57 work camps in 42 locations where over 13,000 participants have completed work on more than 2,422 homes. Workcamps have been held in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Plainwell TeenServe 2021 is coming to our community this summer. This summer, teens from all over the country will be staying at Plainwell High School to help repair homes in our community. It is not too late to apply for FREE house painting, wheelchair ramps, and other minor home repairs. Call 1-800-596-3498 to apply today! Residents will be selected based on physical and financial needs. TeenServe is still looking for volunteers to help during the week of June 27th - July 3rd, 2021. TeenServe will need volunteers to serve meals, prep houses, load supplies, troubleshoot, work evening snacks in the Coffee House, complete unfinished projects after camp, and much more. TeenServe is also looking for local donors to help partner with TeenServe reach our goal of $40,000. The more partnerships in our local community before camp means the more completed homes.
