Requirements for RUBBISH PICK-UP
1. All residents living on private roads must have the trash placed at the end of the road in a pile. 2. Refuse must be limited to what two men can lift. 3. Barrels with both ends cannot be picked up; land fills will not accept them. 4. All barrels, including barrels with trash in them, will be taken. Any barrel or container too heavy for two men to pick up will not be taken. 5. Trash piles should be located within easy reach from the road, not 20 to 30 feet, for the convenience of the trash haulers. 6. All objects must be bagged or put in containers that will be picked up. No loose materials will be picked up. 7. Containers must be left at curbside and they will not be returned. 8. Old appliances will be picked up if they can be lifted by two men. No refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners unless refrigerants are removed by a professional and tagged. Remember... Appliances can be recycled. 9. NO YARD WASTE! 10. NO BUILDING MATERIALS WILL BE PICKED UP 11. NO TIRES WILL BE PICKED UP 12. NO GARBAGE or container for food products will be picked up. 13. NO ROCKS, SAND, CONCRETE, RUBBLE OR DEAD ANIMALS will be picked up. 14. No motor oil or containers with liquids such as oil based and latex paint. Cans with dried paint are acceptable if lids are removed. 15. No call backs will be made if refuse is placed after the truck has serviced your house. 16. Complaints will be verified (field checked) by Township personnel and checked against driver’s log. 17. Any item not picked up because of the above reasons must be taken off the curbside and stored out of sight by noon of the day following each pick-up. 18. If your rubbish has not been picked up by Thursday 9:00 am, please call the Township Office, (269)694-9434. WE WISH TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOODS NEAT & CLEAN. AGE 67 - ALLEGAN, MI Danny Oxford, 67, of Allegan passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his home with his wife by his side. Danny was born February 15, 1952 in Missouri to Ebert and Lois Oxford. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Danny was a truck driver and a member of the Otsego Moose Lodge 345 for many years. He is survived by his wife, Vickie; sons, Dustin Oxford, Danny Oxford Jr., Bobby Oxford, David Oxford and Donald Oxford; daughters Lisa Null and D. Chantay Vincent; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Terry and Barbara Oxford; sister Alma Bowen; and his brother Jimmy Duke. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held beginning at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego followed by the Funeral Service at noon Saturday. Jerry Allen Martin, 48, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Sender; parents, Janice and Edwin Martin; his Aunt Ruth, granddaughter, Alex, and his long time partner, Laurie. Jerry was a very skilled air brush artist. Shannon DEVER AGE 45 - GOBLES, MI
Shannon passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1973 in Plainwell to David and June (Main) Dunklee. Shannon attended Martin High school. She married Daniel Dever on December 5, 1998 in Hopkins, Michigan. She was a bundle of energy and determination, which served her well while raising their 4 children and earning her GED. They were stationed in Arizona and Colorado for most of Dan’s Military career. She served right alongside him through 4 deployments while raising their children and being a Mom and mentor to many of the younger Soldiers. She and Dan were active with the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association 354. She was also a terrific baker, a talented seamstress, enjoyed embroidery, and was an avid U of M football fan. Above all else Shannon loved her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She was great at bringing all her family together. Survivors include her husband Dan; children, Dylan Dunklee (Stephanie) of Hastings, Erik Dever of Hastings, Chelsie Dever of Gobles and Mickayla Dever of Gobles; grandchildren, Liam, Gracelynn and Jaxxon; her father David Dunklee (Peggy) of Allegan; and siblings, Kim Rathbun (Robert) of Hastings, Shaun Dunklee (Brandy) of Otsego, Missy Rodriguez (Elvis) of Otsego, Shandy Evink (Daniel) of Kalamazoo and Brandon Rantz (Adam) of Kalamazoo. Her mother preceded her in death. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm. Colton or Aurora, CO, Shinda (Bill) Weldon of Deland, FL; sons: Robert Nelson of Windsor, CA and Randall (Kathleen) Nelson of Aurora, CO; sisters: Bonnie Bowen of Plainwell, MI and Julie (Tim) Dunklee of Otsego, MI; brothers: Bob (Esther) Sanders of Portage, MI, Perry (Wilma) Sanders of Killeen, TX, and Everett (Cindy) Sanders of Grand Rapids, MI. She had seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Sanders; sister, Doris Sanders; brothers: David and Francis Sanders. “GLIMPSES OF GRACE”

He is a person who sticks to his list, calculates everything and monitors every situation. He is meticulous, organized and precise. He is a selfstarter. When it comes to faith, he thinks for himself. Do you know of anyone who fits this description? This is a profile of Philip, the practical Apostle. He had heard about Jesus, but was not about to run after Him. He was a “look before you leap” type of person.” He was probably surprised when Jesus came to him and called him to be His disciple (John 1:43).
We would know nothing, other than his name, if it were not for the Gospel by John. We know he was from the same fishing town as Andrew and Peter (John 1:44). The first thing he did was to tell his friend, Nathanael. His faith was based on solid Old Testament evidence (John l: 45).
When his friend asked, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” – Practical Philip answered “Come and see for yourself” (John 1:46). On the occasion of feeding the five thousand, Jesus tested Philip by asking, “Where are we to buy bread to feed all these people?” (John 6:5, 6). Philip calculated that eight month’s wages would not begin to feed that many people (John 6:7). Imagine his surprise when Jesus fed the large crowd with “five small barley loaves and two small fish” (John 6:9).
On Palm Sunday in Jerusalem, there were men visiting from a Greek community. They asked Philip where they could find Jesus. His faith was cautious. He turned to Andrew and they both told Jesus (John 12:20-22). Philip’s faith grew ever so slowly.
Finally, after following Jesus for three years, he found himself at the Last Supper. He had one more question for Jesus. “Lord, show us the Father and we will ask no more” (John l4:8). Thanks to Philip, we have one of the most amazing statements of Jesus for all time, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). It is at the very heart of the Christian faith.
Jesus invites all of us to come and see Him for ourselves. Prayer: Dear Lord, we confess that at times, like Philip, we are slow to believe. Increase our faith, we pray. Amen
