Warren passed away, Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home in Otsego surrounded by his family He was born October 24, 1936, in Allegan, the son of Donald and Lois (Johnson) Brooks Warren graduated from Otsego High School in 1954 and attended Western Michigan University For many years he was a foreman for Hackett Construction until his retirement in 1998 Warren loved farming and had done so for his entire life He also liked traveling He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Otsego, the Otsego Township Planning Commission, and the Otsego School Board for 20 years On August 5, 1956, at the Watson Community Church, he married Frances Tefft and they spent 67 wonderful years together Also surviving are his sons Dennis (Sue) Brooks Keith (LeeAnn) Brooks, Mark (Lisa) Brooks and Steven (Brenda) Brooks; grandchildren, Danna (Cody) Gregory, Kathleen Zickafoose, Jeremy (May) Brooks, Andrew (Kristy) Brooks, Wesley Brooks, Jon (Trisha) Brooks, Tony Brooks, Ben (Kami) Brooks, Mitch (Kayla Martin) Brooks, and Nick Brooks; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Watson; along with many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ross Brooks and Brenda Standish According to his wishes cremation has taken place A memorial service took place on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, at 11:00 A M , with Pastor Lenny Luchetti officiating A private family burial of ashes will take place at Mountain Home Cemetery at a later time In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Warren may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the Otsego Public Schools Foundation

Jim passed away, Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo He was born April 23, 1938, in Grand Rapids the son of James and Helena (Rienks) VanDeWege Jim worked at General Motors until his retirement in 1990 He liked playing golf and after retirement worked at Eastern Hills Golf Course in Kalamazoo Jim also enjoyed woodworking, doing puzzles, working in his yard, gardening, playing cards and dice and trips to the casino Jim was an avid sports fan and liked watching college sports, especially U of M and following the Detroit Lions More than anything he loved spending time with his family In 1959 he married Virginia Brown Surviving are his wife of 64 years; 5 children, Rick VanDeWege, Susie (Doug) Worden, Jimmy (Tina) VanDeWege, Jodie (Kurt) Darrow and Steve (Shelley Hinkle) VanDeWege; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren with another due soon; siblings, Bob, Jerry, David and Bev along with several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Dougie and sister, Joyce According to his wishes cremation has taken place Friends may visit with Jim’s family from 6-8 PM Monday June 3 2024 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital

This handsome fella was brought to the Allegan Shelter as a lost dog 4/12/24 Sadly, like so many lost dogs, no one came to bring him home so he was neutered microchipped and brought up to date on vaccinations/prevention The medical team estimates he’s 4 years old Atlas is an easygoing, fr iendly dog He loves decompressing out of the kennel by going for walks or snuggling in the sun with volunteers This poor guy is stressed, so the more time out of his kennel the better! In the shelter Atlas seems to have a perfect energy level (and what you’d expect from a young adult dog) who likes activities but gets tuckered out quickly Atlas’s future family could include a home with another dog - a meet and greet will be scheduled to ensure they are a good fit We’d also love to see Atlas move into foster while awaiting adoption Join the
