Compassion has been descr ibed as “love with skin on” meaning a love that is lived out in daily living When we get up in the mor ning we put on clean clothes for the day In these verses God invites us to clothe ourselves each day with compassion KINDNESS
“What is real good? I asked in a musing mood ‘Order,’ said the law cour t; ‘Knowledge,’ said the school; ‘Tr uth,’ said the wise man; ‘Pleasure,’ said the fool; ‘Love,’ said the maiden; ‘Beauty,’ said the page; ‘Freedom,’ said the dreamer ; ‘Home,’ said the sage; ‘Fame,’ said the soldier ; ‘Equity,’ said the seer Spake my hear t fully sad: ‘The answer is not here ’ Then within my bosom, softly this I heard; ‘Each hear t holds the secret: Kindness is the word ’” - John Boyle O Reilly A person with compassion is a kind person
HUMILITY
A p e r s o n o
spontaneously, naturally and instinctively without thinking about it
The Family of Barb Roy would like to thank Wings of Hope Hospice, Winkel Funeral Home and Pastor Ray Brown for the special comfort and care given to our mother during and after her passing The support of everyone meant a lot during this dif ficult time
Thank you Barb's Family
long before Uncle Sam posters read “I want you” as an army recruitment tool, Jesus said it with his blood shed for you and me on the cross You are wanted by Jesus And any church that follows Jesus will want you too
It’s not easy finding a church that loves people as they are, not as they should be too often, churches draw lines in the sand that Jesus never drew, lines that keep certain people on the outside looking in Sometimes those lines in the sand have to do with age, dress code, education, economics, or ethnicity, as well as habits, hangups and hurts there are lots of good churches out there working hard to erase lines Jesus never drew, lines that are more about legalistic religion than a life-giving relationship with god First Congregational Church of otsego is one of them!
So, if you are on the hunt for a church with an imperfect and broken pastor and people who are seeking hope and healing in Jesus, a church where imperfect people like us are most welcome, look no further Come to First Congregational Church on Sundays at 10:40 I think you’ll be glad you did
one more thing, thank you for coming out to support our first annual KidsFest held back in June 200 of you came out to enjoy free food, a bounce house, a football toss, crafts, balloon darts a dunk tank (I m still recovering from that!) and so much more We plan to do Kidsfest every June for the kids and families of Allegan County!
loving Jesus by serving Allegan County with you, ~ Pastor Lenny Luchetti
