Nancy Jane Marshall, age 83 of Orangeville Township, MI passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023 She was born on December 21, 1939 in Hopkins, MI to Harley and Gladys (Brenner) Hendrixson Nancy was a graduate of Otsego High School

She enjoyed working for the Circle Inn for over ten years In her free time Nancy spent time riding motorcycles, camping at Shelp’s Resort, and traveling up to her cottage in Manistee Most of all she loved her family and friends Nancy leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Clayton Marshall; sons: Irwin “Gus” (Sandy) Hendrixson, Brad (Pattie) Marshall, Kevin Marshall; grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda (Jeremy), Kendra, Shawna, Brittany, Tanner, Zachary; great grandchildren: Callie, Braylon, Urijah, Abriella, Dehlia, Brigham; brother, Irwin Hendrixson; sister-in-law, Beverly Hendrixson; many nieces, nephews, friends, and caring staff at Stone Ridge Assisted Living that gave her the best care Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward Harley Marshall; brothers: Darl Hendrixson, and Larry Hendrixson Nancy’s family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home where her funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery

Dan Charles PELL AGE 82 - PLAINWELL MI

Dan Charles Pell, a resident of Plainwell, MI, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the age of 82

He was born on March 9, 1941, to Ronald and Ruth (Hearshaw)

Pell As a child Dan enjoyed racing boats on Pine Lake during summers with his loved ones that held a special place in his heart He spent every summer out at the family cottage and his dad would commute back to Plainwell to work at the Cannery Dan was a remarkable athlete, excelling in football, basketball, and track His exceptional skills led to his induction into the Plainwell High School Hall of Fame Class of 1959 on March 6, 1998 Following his high school years, Dan received a football scholarship to Kalamazoo College, where he played for three years before joining the Army Stationed at a missile site near Gruenstadt, Germany, he married the love of his life, Ann Meyle, on January 15, 1965 The adventurous couple embarked on a European journey, exploring the continent on a tight budget of $5 a day in their $250 Volkswagen Bug Upon returning to Plainwell, Dan pursued a career as an electrician and became a proud father to two sons Known for his resourcefulness, Dan undertook various projects, but he took particular pride in constructing a mortise and pegs barn entirely by hand, using lumber salvaged from a dismantled barn Everyone liked Dan, he was quiet, always had a smile on his face and never had an unpleasant word for anyone Dan helped sons Jack and Jim with their athletic careers, playing basketball in the driveway, throwing the football around the backyard, and baseball catching while Jack practiced pitching and Jim worked on his swing Dan is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddaughter, Cassaundra Lynn Pell He is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, Jack (Susan) Pell and James (Amy) Pell; grandson, Grant; granddaughters, Hope, Brooke, and Maya Pell; step-grandson, Larry (Mariah) Fitch; step-granddaughter, Brinklee (Adrian) Davis; adored great-grandchildren, and his constant companion, his dog, Sunshine In Dan's memory, donations may be made to the ASPCA or Wings of Hope Hospice Care Envelopes will be available at the funeral home As per the family's request, a celebration of Dan's life will be held at Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, 120 South Woodhams Street, Plainwell, MI 49080, on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 1:00 p m Cremation has already taken place

John D Horvath, Knight of Columbus 4th Degree, passed away on July 1, 2023 He has been reunited with his wife of 55 years, Maxine E Horvath (nee Wickware) He is survived by his four children: Donna (Eric) Mahieu, John L (Kimberly) Horvath, Emily Horvath, and Gregory (Breanne) Horvath He is also survived by his eight grandchildren: Leslieanne (Alexander) Seekell, Erin (Zachary) Payton, Devon (Kyle) Kessler, Kayla Horvath, John D Horvath, II, Morgan Horvath, Keagan Horvath, and Aedan Horvath He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Piper, Ryder, Briar, and Daxon Seekell, and Seth Kessler John built a fulfilling career as a hospital pharmacist serving as the Chief of Pharmacy at both Borgess Hospital and Allegan General Hospital He was an avid gardener, and his orchids will continue to bring joy to his family if we can manage to keep them going If you asked us for one piece of advice from our father it would be, “Be kind to each other ” A funeral mass will be celebrated on August 1, 2023 at St Margaret’s Catholic Church in Otsego, Michigan at 11 am In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to a charity that you believe spreads kindness in our father’s honor

AGE 79 - PLAINWELL MI

Nancy Ann Jackson peacefully passed away on July 10th, 2023, at the age of 79, following a courageous battle with cancer She passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family Nancy was born on August 28, 1943, in Monroe, WI, to Frank Russell Jackson and Evelyn Patricia (Rufer) Jackson Nancy's cherished childhood was spent in Plainwell, MI, where she resided with her parents and formed close bonds with her beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she considered siblings After graduating from Plainwell High School in 1961, Nancy embarked on a journey to Chicago, where she attended and successfully graduated from the esteemed Ray-Vogue School of Fashion During her time at Ray-Vogue, Nancy had the opportunity to visit New York City with her classmates, exploring the world of fashion, indulging in sightseeing, and delighting in a captivating performance by the Radio City Rockettes In April of 1965, Nancy married Anthony (Tony) Bird from Knoxville, and together they raised two sons, David and Kevin Throughout their 12year marriage, they lived in Tennessee, Ohio, and ultimately settled in Southeast Michigan Following their divorce, Nancy and her boys returned to Plainwell, where she resided until her passing Nancy was a dedicated employee who dedicated 31 years of her life to AT&T Company before retiring During her leisure time, she found joy in participating in 5K runs, playing golf with like-minded friends who prioritized fun over competition, and tending to the garden of her charming house nestled in the woods Later in life, Nancy discovered her passion for dancing, initially favoring country styles but eventually embracing the art of ballroom dancing Her involvement extended beyond mere attendance, as her kind and giving nature led her to actively serve on various boards and committees within the dance community Left to cherish Nancy's memory are her two sons, David Bird and Kevin (Theresa) Bird; her granddaughter, Rossi Fifelski; great-grandson, Ryder Williams, and many cherished cousins Nancy is predeceased by her former husband and father of her children, Tony Bird In accordance with Nancy's wishes, she was cremated, and no funeral services will be held In a private event, her immediate family will scatter her ashes in a location that held deep meaning to her We invite you to commemorate Nancy's life in your own personal way However, if you wish to honor her memory through a donation, please consider contributing to Centrica Care Navigators at https://centricacare org/ We extend our deepest gratitude to Centrica Hospice Care, especially Nancy's primary caregiver, Melissa, for their compassionate care during the final months of her life

Cheryl Ellen Tuinstra, beloved wife, mother, grandma, greatgrandma, and lifelong beautician, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023 Born on April 25, 1949, to Donald and Margaret (Burt) Rambadt, Cheryl dedicated her life to her family and was an active member of her church On June 25, 1971, Cheryl married the love of her life, Gerrit "Gary" Tuinstra, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years Together, they built a loving family and created lasting memories Cheryl's talents and passion as a beautician brought joy and confidence to many throughout her career Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Patricia Vickery, and her beloved grandson, Levi Eizenga Cheryl's love for her family knew no bounds She cherished her role as a mother to her sons, Brent (Tracye) Tuinstra and Jeremy (Katie) Tuinstra, and her daughter, Melinda (Bob) Eizenga She also held a special place in her heart for her daughter-inlaw, Julie Tuinstra Cheryl adored her grandchildren: Hannah, Thomas (Bethany), Leah, Emma, Paige, Alyssa, Alex, Laura, Joel, Cara, Tyler, and Luke She experienced the joy of being a great-grandmother to Hunter Cheryl is also survived by her brother, Donald (Anita) Rambadt, and sister, Diane Katje, along with numerous nieces and nephews In Cheryl's memory, donations may be made to Christian Volunteer Service in Mississippi or Immanuel Fellowship Church In accordance with the family’s wishes Cheryl will be laid to rest at South Martin cemetery during a private committal service Funeral service was held at Immanuel Fellowship Church, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, on Thursday, July 20, 2023, with Pastor William Boekestein officiating

Norman G Snyder Sr passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, July 15 at Ely Manor in Allegan, MI He was born on September 29, 1939, in Delton, the son of Ernest and Dot (Reed) Snyder Norman worked for Plainwell Paper Mill most of his life He enjoyed going fishing, going to the Gun Lake Casino, and riding the golf cart with his loving wife Sonja of 64 years Norman is preceded in death by his wife Sonja and son Norman Jr He is survived by his daughter Penny (Russell) Bowman, grandchildren: Cory Snyder, Elizabeth Wuis, Leah Fletcher, Tinesha Beverly, and Lance Bowman, and 9 Great Grandchildren In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place He will be missed by many but never forgotten

Constance J Bennett was born in Plainwell, Michigan on October 16, 1951 She graduated from Portage Central High School in 1969 She passed away at home on July 14, 2023 after a long illness Constance is survived by her daughters and grandchildren She will be missed by all that knew her She did not want a memorial service and asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to your local animal shelter
