As we close the book on fall and ready ourselves to settle into the winter months ahead, we are excited about the many opportunities we have for our community to connect, learn and grow. Our district's mission of Engage, Educate and Empower is in full force for our learners of all ages in this season's catalog. In March, we have rebranded the Home and Business Expo to the "Chisago Lakes Showcase" with the goal of welcoming all our area businesses and vendors for our community to learn more about just what our region has to offer. The Showcase will take place on Saturday, March 23. Also in March, for our residents with a green thumb, we are partnering with the U of M Extension office to host a "Master Gardner Expo." Our pool continues to provide excellent opportunities for swimming lessons, open family swims and morning (and some late afternoon) swimming options. I am excited as well to welcome several new faces to the team over the past several months. Danielle Brooks is our new WCC/Aquatics manager and she has brought several great ideas and offerings to the table in her areas. Christine Melbostad has joined the team as our Youth and Adult Enrichment Coordinator and has hit the ground running to provide many new things for our community members to enjoy. If you have a talent or skill you'd like to share, reach out to Christine, she'd be happy to make it happen! And finally, rounding out our newly added faces, is Jamie Agre. She is our front desk receptionist who always welcomes our members and guests with a smile and a friendly greeting. We're excited you've chosen to check out our classes, events and offerings. As always, if you have questions or would like to see something else added to the mix, reach out. I'm always happy to chat Community Education! dmcgonigle@isd2144.org.

Together We Can
Help Me Grow
Do you have a child who is 0-Kindergarten age? Could you use help to reduce the stress in your life? Could you use support getting in touch with resources? Could you use additional parenting strategies to address challenges with your child?
While all young children grow and change at their own rate, some children experience delays in their development. Special health conditions may affect children’s development, too. Accessing early intervention services as early as possible will ensure the best developmental outcomes for these children.
If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Together We Can Program is here to support you and your family! Our Early Childhood Family Support Coaches can assist in connecting you with resources and provide parenting supports to improve the emotional well-being of each individual. Contact the Chisago County Early Childhood Family Support Coach: Heidi Corbin 320-591-0911 hcorbin@scred.k12.mn.us
Help Me Grow provides resources for families to look at development milestones, to learn if there are concerns, and to take the lead in seeking additional support or in referring their child for a comprehensive, confidential screening or evaluation at no cost. Minnesota children from birth to 5 years, if found eligible, can receive services in their home, child care setting or school. These services are free regardless of income or immigrant status. Help Me Grow is an interagency initiative of the State of Minnesota - Department of Education, Department of Health and Department of Human Services - partnering with all local service agencies. To refer a child, visit www.helpmegrowmn.org.

Live 2 B Healthy's trainers are all nationallycertified fitness professionals with a strong background in older adult fitness. Classes are different every week, but always concentrate on improving balance, flexibility & strength to help prevent falls and increase independence. Our trainers are professional and supportive and know how to ensure participants are safe, working to their own best ability levels and having a good time! All movements can be performed either seated or standing.

Zumba® Toning incorporates weighted toning sticks or dumbbells, which come in 1-pound and 2.5-pound sizes, to the Zumba® workout that participants use almost like maracas. The toning sticks function like dumbbells to act as resistance weights. The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba® Toning Sticks (or light weights), helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged! Zumba® Toning perfect for those who want to party, but put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define those muscles! The lightweight maracalike toning sticks enhances sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core and lower body.

Tai Ji Quan, Moving for Better Balanced
ADULT PROGRAMS - HEALTH, FITNESS & WELLNESS
Ages 55+ Taught by Jose Zepeda
Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® (TJQMBB) is a research-based balance training regimen designed for older adults at risk of falling and people with balance disorders. Although its origin can be traced to the contemporary simplified 24-form Tai Ji Quan routine, TJQMBB represents a significant paradigm shift in the application of Tai Ji Quan, moving the focus from its historical use as a martial art or recreational activity to propagating health by addressing common, but potentially debilitating, functional impairments/deficits. This unique training approach is the culmination of a systematic series of scientific studies to improve efficacy, utility, and community and clinical relevance. All classes are held at the Wildcat Community Center. Cost is $20 for the month (4 sessions) or $5 per drop in class. 549-W24A-W1 Wednesdays, Jan 10-31

Adult Programs General Interest Intro to the Power of Story
Beginner Knitting
This classes uses Norse and Celtic storytelling to dive into 3 basic principles: The Power of the stories we tell ourselves, and allow others to tell us about ourselves. "Feeding the story" as a life skill for interpersonal communication skills and deepening authentic connections. What we can learn about suffering from these old stories. We will learn how the stories we tell ourselves, and allow others to tell us about ourselves can carry a powerful influence over our lives, and how through intentionality, we can recraft our own personal stories. In feeding the story we will learn a powerful technique that has brought healing to many people, but also how this technique can be applied to our daily interactions with others, and in so doing greatly deepen our understanding of others and allow us to build more authentic understanding relationships. Through these stories we will also gain valuable insight into what they are trying to teach us about the nature and purpose of suffering in our lives. We will also learn a new perspective on suffering, that when applied to daily life has also brought great healing and transformation to many people.
In this two part beginning class, you will learn how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. We will turn the square you knit into a cute bunny.

12+ Taught by LaroFit LLC
This course is perfect for those looking to make a splash by adding a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine. Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn't miss! There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles. 2526-W24A Saturdays, Jan 6-Feb 24 9:00-10:00am Wildcat Community Center 7 sessions $70 for all 7 sessions or $12 per drop in 2526-W24B Tuesdays, Jan 9-Feb 20 7:00-8:00pm Wildcat Community Center 7 sessions $70 for all 7 sessions or $12 per drop in
