Mini Camp Descriptions Advantage Tennis & Pee Wee Pickleball Come ready to have fun, work hard, learn tennis and pickleball, and rock out to music. Each class is high ENERGY as we learn strokes, techniques, and trivia daily! Clark Taylor and Robert McKnight
Alien Space Travelers Take on the role of a space alien visiting Earth for the first time. Explore the most amazing planet in the universe (Way cooler than anything you would ever find in Gliese 581)! During your one-week stay, you will explore the Earth’s environment, and study forms of communication and the science behind what Earthlings call “Sports.” Note to parents: During our visit we will be careful to observe the laws of motion as described by Earth native, Sir Isaac Newton. Art Design Bring your creative imagination to life by using different mediums to create different pieces of art. In this camp, students will learn to draw comic characters and create cartoons. 3-2-1... Let ‘em rip! Bring your favorite Beyblades, launchers, and/or arenas, and join us as we battle tournament style. Don’t worry if you are new to Beyblade, we will have plenty for you to use. Beyblades is a fast-paced spinning tops game; the last top spinning wins. Therese Futhey
Kids discover the inspiring masterpieces and artists who have changed the world of art, and the world as we know it from Frida Kahlo’s self-portraits to Keith Haring’s street art. In this week-long camp, they experiment with different art techniques, and use Crayola® art materials to express their ideas. They design a different unique, artist-inspired creation each day. Beginner Band Camp

Are you excited to start band in fall of 2022 or looking to join 6th grade band on a new instrument? This is your camp to attend! We will start from scratch with our instruments and learn the basics while having a fun-filled summer activity approach! NO prior knowledge of your instrument is needed. 6 |

Join Ms. Hazelwood as we jump, cheer, stunt, and tumble through the week! Participants will learn basic tumbling: forward and backward rolls, front and back walkovers, handstands, cartwheels, and round-offs. They will also receive support and spotting for more advanced tumbling. Amanda Hazelwood

Crayola® Wild World Are you ready for an art expedition? Let the wonder and beauty of the animal kingdom inspire your empathy, curiosity, and creativity. Learn about lions, elephants, sharks, and more, and find out how wildlife conservationists are working to protect species around the globe. Experiment with a variety of art techniques, and use Crayola® products to create animal-inspired art projects, from frog paintings to polar bear sculptures! Creating Mini Books and Boxes and Mini Watercolor Paintings In this class, students will create small watercolor paintings and use those to adorn a folded box and a handsewn mini book or two. This class will be a calm and relaxing way to creatively express ourselves as we ease into summer. And, students will walk away with creative projects that can last them for many years to come. Creation Station Plus Campers will create upcycled art, furniture, and clothing for their Barbie’s, G.I. Joe’s, and/or stuffies. They will also write stories using stickers; make frog houses and other art in nature; play with gigantic bubbles; participate in scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, and tag games; make mandala chalk creations and shoe safety pin designs; and, most importantly, have fun! Little Doctor School Little Doctor School brings science, healthcare, and the exciting world of medicine to children in a creative, fun, and interactive way. Students receive their white lab coat and learn to use real medical instruments including a reflex hammer, blood pressure cuff, and their own stethoscope. They will explore how the incredible heart, lungs, and digestive system work and how to keep them healthy. They become a surgeon for the day and learn to suture and tie knots. Little Pediatrician School Step into the role of a pediatrician by taking care of your new plush baby from head to toe! Have fun learning the basics of bathing, burping, and feeding your little patient. Wilderness Medicine Conquer the great outdoors! Be ready for fun… and any natural disaster with LMS’ Wilderness Medicine Camp. Through role-play and games, you can be the master of the great outdoors. Campers learn about venomous snakes and how to treat a snake bite, poisonous plants, mosquito bites, and hypothermia. Work with your fellow campers to make a tourniquet, send distress signals, learn 20 ways to use a bandana, and more! PLAY CAMP
June 6-10, June 13-17, June 21-24, June 27-July 1 | Full-day $395/week | Half-day $205/week Children ages 3, 4 and 5 will build, splash, play, create, and dance their way through four one-week sessions of Summer Play Camp. Campers will delight in daily indoor and outdoor activities – including water and sand play! Experienced early childhood teachers and staff from Community School will direct the camp. Campers must have had their third birthday by July 1, 2022, and be potty-trained. Full-day campers should bring a non-refrigerated nut-free lunch. Campers may be dropped off as late as 9:00 a.m. or picked up as early as 3:00 p.m. Please note that the week of June 21, there is no camp on Monday, and thus we are offering a discounted rate. FULL-DAY Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. daily; a.m. & p.m. snacks are provided. $395 per week, $316 for week of June 21-24. HALF-DAY Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. – noon and 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily; snacks are provided. $205 per week, $164 for week of June 21-24.

June 13–17, 9am – 12pm (JK and SK, $205 per camper) Disney Dazzle: Join STAGES St. Louis for a dazzling musical camp exploring all-time favorite Broadway Disney musicals such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Frozen, and more! Campers will perform a mini showcase with costumes and props the final day of camp for families and friends whether virtual or in-person. June 27–July 1, 9am – 4pm (grades 1-4, $410 per camper) KIDS ONLY: Join STAGES St. Louis for this fun, only for kids, musical camp! Campers will explore many of the Broadway musicals featuring kids such as Annie, Oliver, Newsies, The Lion King, Matilda and more! Campers will learn the essential skills of singing, dancing, and acting while putting on a show for the last day of camp for their family and friends whether virtual or in-person. July 11–22, 9am – 4pm (grades 5-8, $820 per camper) Musical Adventures with ANNIE: Join STAGES St. Louis for the mini-performance camp of Musical Adventures with Annie! Based on the popular comic strip, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City in her very first adventure. Through acting, dancing, and song, campers will bring to life those famous comic book characters such as Annie and the Orphans, Miss Hannigan, Rooster, Lily St. Regis, Mr. Warbucks, and his secretary Grace Farrell. Campers will put on a show for their families and friends whether virtual or in-person on the last day of camp.
THEATER INTENSIVE

Ready to do the nearly impossible? Join Community School’s Drama Teacher, Alissa Rowan, for an intensely fun week of creating a show. That’s right! In one week, campers will act, dance, and sing their hearts out in preparation for a 45-minute performance! Campers will perform Beat by Beat’s We Are Monsters, a hilarious show that follows human kids into a monster cabaret filled with quirky monster characters! Act, dance, and sing all day! Culminating performance on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
FUNdamentals
August 1-5 & August 8-12 | JK-6th grades | One week $355, or both $650 Sign up for one or both weeks of FUNdamentals! Fight the summer slump with FUNdamentals. Customized for each age group, this will get your child back in the swing before school starts! All ages will experience sports, French, art, and recess, as well as differentiated academics - all taught by experienced Community School faculty and staff. Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily. One week of camp costs $355, or sign up for both at $650. JK & SK - Get ready. Get set. It’s time for school! Younger students will get familiar with school routines before the first day of school. By using favorite children’s books, thematic activities will support school readiness skills such as listening, following directions, and organization, as well as math, reading, and writing. 1st & 2nd - Brush up on valuable skills and learn the importance of school routines. Listening to stories and reading in small groups will increase comprehension and reading fluency. Fun number games focusing on number sense and computation will help review, reinforce, and develop math skills. 3rd & 4th - Third and fourth graders will develop strong critical thinking skills while reading fiction and non-fiction pieces, focusing on determining the main idea, using context clues to develop vocabulary, and summarizing the key concepts of the text. In math, through interactive lessons and games, campers will focus on the concepts of number sense, computation, geometry, and fractions. 5th & 6th - Prepare for success! Fifth and sixth grade students will review math and reading skills through interactive games and fun activities. They will learn different strategies to develop and enhance study skills, including organization and time management. Through critical thinking activities, leadership skills will be enhanced to prepare fifth and sixth graders for the school year.

WHAT DO I BRING?
Snacks are provided in the morning and afternoon. If staying all day, pack a non-refrigerated peanut-free lunch. Please bring a water bottle and mask, and please wear tennis shoes.
WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 POLICIES?
All employees and students will follow CDC and St. Louis County Department of Public Health guidelines. Although we hope we will not need to require masks, please be aware that if we determine it is necessary to mask participants in order to hold camp safely, we will do so.
Cancellation/Refunds
Registration is due by Monday, May 16, 2022. There will be a $25 late fee for registrations after this date. There are NO refunds given for cancellations after May 16 for reasons other than Covid-19, including vacation schedules, conflicting activities, or changes in plans. If a camp is canceled due to Covid-19, fees will be refunded on a per diem basis. If a student receives a positive Covid-19 test, they will receive a refund on a per diem basis and be required to present a negative Covid-19 test before returning to camp. QUESTIONS?
