I just started a new workout and eating plan and I want to review my progress throughout the week. Is there a simple way to keep track of my goals, accomplishments and eating habits? – Jenny R.

It can be difficult to stay on track with any diet or workout plan. Daily tracking empowers you to successfully see your goals through to completion, no matter how large or impossible they first appear. If your goal is to gain or lose weight, compete as an athlete or maintain your general health, keeping a daily journal is beneficial. Since everyone has a different way of doing things, there is no guideline regarding which tools you must use, how often you use it or how much information you need to include. This is your journal and you are free to use it in the way that best suits you and your lifestyle. It has been my experience that if you wish to see the results you are wanting, you need to do a simple, quick journal plan daily. A few good reasons for planning and utilizing a journal consistently for meals, supplements and exercise include:

Increase The Effectiveness Your Workouts By Journaling

By journaling, you know when you are consistent in all three areas: food, supplements and physical activity. You can start to see your results and goals being achieved and the journal will help keep you on track. The Daily Journal Page includes all the key components to help you succeed in your individual plan. You can record the date, your starting weight for the day and your plan of attack. This might be getting all 8 oz. glasses of water in, hitting your daily calorie goal or even your monthly weight loss goal. In the food and beverage notes, you can plan ahead by writing in what you want or plan to consume for the day, or just enter it as the day progresses. Be sure to write your supplements in, this is a great tool to help you and your consultant at Complete Nutrition tweak your personal needs.

The Lifestyle Sheet is beneficial for you in many ways as well. Not only is it a simplified journal, but it also helps you with meal choices and when you should be eating them. The Lifestyle Sheet helps you combine the healthiest carbs and proteins at the time of day when you’re body needs them and can utilize them properly. By following the outline given, you can begin eating healthy and maximizing the potency of your workouts by fueling your body correctly. The key to successful goal implementation is to keep your goals fresh in your mind. If you review your progress every day it becomes more than just wishful thinking and becomes engrained in your mind. Your dreams and aspirations become reality and you can begin feeling better about your body.

Monitor Your Stacks & Supplement Intake By Journaling There is a lot to keep track of in your daily routine and you can’t always remember it all. Like most of us, you may need a little help to organize and manage your entire workout arsenal. A simple way to tackle the challenge of tracking all of your meals, stacks and exercise for the day, week or month is by journaling daily.

Journaling can be an extremely effective way to reach your physique aspirations. For instance, if you’re trying to get cut for a competition or beach season you should write down what you consume that day so that you can literally see what you need to change about your diet or workout program to achieve your goals in time. A daily journal can also take the guesswork out of your stack regimen. By taking the stack instructions and writing them out you can figure out when you need to be taking what. By doing this, you know you’re being consistent and getting the best results possible. Journaling doesn’t just stop at recording what you eat or how you stack. It can be even more effective in the gym! While you may train hard, you may not be getting the same reps and sets in or you may not be switching up the muscles you train each time you workout.

Record how many sets you perform and how many reps in each of those sets. When these sets become easier and easier you will know it is time to increase the weight for more gains in your muscle mass. Seeing your progress and results over time is one of the best motivators.

By journaling, you can easily see what you do daily and this can help you move on to other muscle groups or increase your sets and reps when needed. You may even decide to plan out your routine ahead of time and get yourself the same workout faster by knowing what you’re doing before you get to the gym. Take the guesswork out of your stacks, consume the correct portions of food and even out your muscle training with a little help from Complete Nutrition’s Daily Journal Page or Lifestyle Sheet.
