The perfect intimate wedding for a couple with an adventurous spirit. A memorable way to celebrate your day with the spectacular sea as a backdrop.

What inspired you to choose Seattle?

We wanted to take couples on a journey to places no one had ever been before. We based our elopement on Sleepless in Seattle: The Untold Story. It’s an intimate ceremony for the adventurous spirit! An adventurous couple, who have travelled the rugged seas, combed the deserted beaches and rocky coastline, collecting treasures along the way, and have fallen in love over and over.

What influenced the theme and styling?

The Pop Up Elopements team were inspired by the natural and raw elements of the ocean and coastline, with a nod to the new world, old rock, and pirates of the sea. We wanted to showcase a romantic and intimate elopement, consciously sourcing and re-purposing every item for the couple’s wedding day.

Amanda from A Celebration Day crafted a natural, non-scripted ceremony, allowing the couple to share their intimate and very personal love letters. The inspiration behind the florals, were as if they had been ‘picked from the rugged coastline’ by the very talented Yolande of Floral Fix. Cassie, from Bedford Photography, used her raw natural style to capture the fun, spontaneous and romantic moments during the shoot, “the winter light was soft and romantic – it was just perfect to capture those special moments”, she said.

Which DIYs or party trends did you incorporate into your shoot?

Our stylist Lisa, from Hazelhurst Café Weddings handmade many elements for the shoot, including the bunting from old sail material, customised slippers and repurposed an op shop dress. “Many of the items used in the shoot were op-shop finds, items from grandparents’ sheds, borrowed and foraged. Doing our best to be sustainable along the way” she said.

We love the diversity of the USA. All the suppliers involved in the shoot have spent time in the USA and have each drawn on their experience to create our Sleepless in Seattle: The Untold Story styled shoot.
