S H E L L . T E R CHALLENGES:
Looking forward - one can only but speculate about the future of transportation. It is clear however, that it is the emerging tech industries intention to design and manufacture a driver less future. With that in mind - imagine if every parking lot around SJSU campus (and beyond) was to be re-purposed . They are potential for student housing. Assigned location is SJSU North Parking Garage(East San Fernando and South 9th Street)
SOLUTIONS:
Carefully consider how to distribute the modules and the various housing requirements people might have. Each of the module will be unique in the way its deals with both the housing topologies and the respective layouts. As working through the design, considering implementing various modules, creating spaces that people can be social and spaces that people can be in solitude.

A shelter module is designed for 2 students and the form is inspired from shrimp the shell. The form of wrapping space is not only provide a unique experience for student to live and study, but also create a small community as well. The project proposes a public kitchen and cafeteria for student to hangout and spend time outside from their own units.
