The challenge will be to create one form for a local food vendor and integrate fresh prepared food elements to be sold. The selling environment should be defined by fixture placement, to include the fresh prepared foods, related merchandise, and visual presentation.

FORM Inspiration

Revolution


The idea for the Sushi Urchin form came from the natural shape of a sea urchin. Going along with the idea of grab-n-go, the circle shape reinforces the accessibility nature of the gorcery store. The customers can approach the displaying merchandise with . The materials choosen are based on the concept of Japanese cuisine and lifestyle, which focus on the organic form of nature. Thus, the main material is bamboo veneer - an eco-friendly material. The design is intended for young generation consumers; however, children and elders also can easily access the products or read the menu at comfortable height.

Begin by developing a generative design research, After that, designing a Food Lab based on the food in the assigned context. The components of feature design will be made out the waste materials from the assigned location. The final outcome should present both the signature characteristic of location and the uniqueness of the feature design.

Material


The Mountain Coffee Lab design is inspired by natural and recycle idea. The design reflects the organic form of mountain which is angular and complex perspective. In additional, it also represented for the geography of San Francisco - mountain, sea, and forest. In addition with the evolution from grounded coffee, the idea of using Dahlia - the official flower of San Francisco - to cooperate the material color and feature geography. Therefore, in the Mountain Coffee Lab, customers are not only able to enjoy the unique coffee taste from the lab invention, but also be closer with nature through the interior design.

Framed by steel, the main components of the Coffee Bar are Dahlia powder, eco-resin, and plaster. Inspired to recycle wasted flowers from the Netherlands, purple Dahlia was chosen to be the color of the coffee bar.

CAFÉ AREA Sitting at the cåfe area, customers are surrounded by the mountain like wall featuring the volcanic mountain range. The chair are to desgined to imitate the color and shape of the mountain rocks. The steel rodes wall imitating the crossing branches of the mountain forest provide structure support and safety for the mountain trail inspired rock ladder. Together the cafe area offer a full outdoor experience of San Francisco city.

MEETING AREA To meet the initial requirement of providing a meeting area, the Meeting Valley was created. Meeting Valley is located at the center of the coffee where it can be seen easily, while the hollow design provide just enough privacy for the customers.

Begin with the selection of single-purpose items from Dollar Tree, designers study forms, components, movement, and texture of the selected items. After that, use the items to build a block or a tile, and ensure that it can be use in construction. Study the culture and practice of the assigned location - Oakland, Bart Station. Come up with a proposal for the renovation plan including central activity and remodel floor plan | interior.

Steel The world’s largest crude steel producers in 2015, ranked by production volume (in million metric tons) Luxembourg-based steel company ArcelorMittal produced around 97 million metric tons worth of crude steel that year. ArcelorMittal collects the steel from their iron mines from different areas around the world: Algeria, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada, Kazakhstan, Mexico, South Africa, the United States, Ukraine and Liberia. After collect iron from mines, the raw material are shipped to the main factory in Luxembourg to process. The finished products later on are shipped to the distributors. Plastic BASF is a German chemical company and the world’s largest company within the chemical industry, based on revenue. In 2015, BASF generated approximately 70 billion euros of revenue and reported a net income of some four billion euros. BASF sells most of its products to customers from the chemical and plastic industries, as well as from the energy and resources sectors. One of their main producer and distributor maket is China.

SECTION

The abstract geometry form repeats in different areas in order to unified company theme of being energize and active. Different area holds its own activities to keep the employees active and relax at their workplace. The upper level is employee gym where it is not only for them to use but also a “testing lab” for engineer to test their new product coding.

Along with formal meeting room at core area, the “Gather Boxes” provide semi-closure spaces for small to big group discussions that required more privacy. Blending into the workspace are public collaborations and gathering space for small group talk or quick touchdown.

Units Layout


The shelter community layout is inspired by the nature behavior of seashell. Seashell habitat is private and independent but still stay as a community. They placed toward the center area to keeo an eye on each other in oder to maintain their security.

- Public kitchen is placed at the center area

- Blending into the smaller units are benches and bike racks

- Public seating is provided through out the space

One unit is occupied by two students. The shelter provide gather/study area, one bathroom, storage, and two full size lifted-up beds. The personal space is also be considered, therefore the bed area is separated by the curve ceiling structure and the weaving application of the shelter.
