7, 10 and 40 years old
When I was 7 years old,
I realized that my biggest dream was to have the chance to go to school, but my mother didn’t have money to send me.
One time, I was in a bus to Armenia, but I could not read. I did not know where to get down and the bus got back San Salvador. When I saw that I was going to a different place, I asked someone. A lady came to me and told me:
– Get down now son and take the other bus!
In that moment I felt complete sadness, because I could not read.
When I got back home, I told my mother what had happened, and she told me:
– Son, you know we are poor.
— Mommy, I know we are poor, but in night school, we do not have to pay. I will go!
When I was 10 years old,
I started to study in the night shift, because it was free. Now, I thank God for what I learned.
I never knew I could learn so much.
Now I am 40 years old
and I am writing a book about my life. Being in a prison has not stopped me from doing so.
My my mind and heart have changed over time, and my wish is that one day, the world reads my book and feels
happiness.
