Hello,

After 20 years we’ve articulated the driving purpose at the heart of COOK: nourishing relationships. Home cooking is all about nourishment, not just for the body but for the soul. COOK exists at the fulcrum of some vital relationships: between people and food; between food production and the planet; and between business and society. Relationships that can often appear fundamentally broken. So we are committing to nourishing relationships with our people and their work, customers and their communities, and with food and where it comes from. In this way, COOK can truly be a business that’s a force for good in society.

A fixture in the COOK autumnal calendar is the Annual General Munching we hold in our shops. On Saturday 30th September, we’ll be putting on a great spread of food to taste, asking customers for feedback, and offering a concise report on how the company performed in the past financial year.

Which isn’t to say we’ve neglected the food this autumn. Our new Pies for One, side dishes and hot puddings are all stunning. Pair with an autumnal walk and you have the makings of a perfect day in this most beautiful of seasons.

Now, not many people will make a special effort to come to COOK to get a business report. And organising the AGM requires a lot of effort from our shop teams. So why bother? We’re committed to our business changing things for the better, and that starts with being open and accountable to everybody, especially our customers.
