Tasting Every Dish, Every Day

Every day, we sample a portion of every single recipe we’ve made the day before to make sure it tastes just right. It’s fair to say the daily taste panel is the most important meeting in the business. It requires a fair bit of stamina from chief tasters Jamie and Sue, who have been known to sample 50 dishes in a day. For a while we thought Sue might be putting on a few pounds as a result (note, we thought, we certainly didn’t say). It turned out she was pregnant – and eating for two is actually pretty handy for the taste panel. Having led a nomadic existence for years, the daily taste panel finally has a permanent new home with a window looking out onto the chefs hard at work in the kitchen. If you’d ever like to have a tour around the kitchen (and taste plenty of food, too), then drop us a line at edwardanddale@cookfood.net.

If you can’t decide what to have for dinner, all these dishes boast a Great Taste Award. It’s the equivalent of eating an Oscar winner. Colin Firth for supper anyone?
