e are thrilled to announce that Coppermine has partnered with Blue Ocean on the former North Carroll High School site (1400 Panther Drive, Hampstead, MD, 21074) to create Coppermine Pantherplex. W

The site boasts a 60-acre footprint with baseball and softball fields, athletic fields and stadium, indoor and outdoor courts, as well as just under 300,000 square feet of multi-purpose commercial and educational spaces – including an 850-seat theatre for performing arts. The high school, which closed in 2016, was recently purchased by Blue Ocean, a real estate investment firm headquartered in Reisterstown, MD.

Jonathan Ehrenfeld, Blue Ocean CEO, noted, “We are pleased to continue to build on our relationship with Coppermine. They’ve been a solid, responsible, and thoughtful partner at our Pikesville Racquet & Fitness Club, and we are confident that they will enhance the Hampstead community by offering meaningful camps, athletics, theatre and arts programming.” Coppermine will bring its expertise in facility management and recreational sports programming to revitalize the property into a thriving sport and social hub for the community. Both Coppermine and Blue Ocean aim to work with local recreational councils and area sports teams in addition to providing improvements to the sports fields and athletic spaces. Initially, Coppermine plans to build a new turf field inside the current stadium, refurbish the baseball and softball fields and add additional programming such as beach volleyball. Coppermine will also create a small-sided soccer and lacrosse park comprised of four turf fields, the first of its kind in the area. The Coppermine Pantherplex will also house sports performance training, physical therapy, and a sports medicine facility. Other plans also include pedestrian pathways that connect all fields, facilities, and amenities, such as shade, seating, concessions, and restrooms, as well as renovations to the auditorium and gymnasiums. “As a proud supporter and advocate for Carroll County sports and recreation, we are excited for the Coppermine Pantherplex to become an integral cornerstone for the Carroll County community,” said Alex Jacobs, owner of Coppermine. WOMEN'S WORLD GAMES

CONGRATULATIONS COPPERMINE GIRLS LAX CLUB

USA Lacrosse hosted 29 nations for the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship at Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, MD. Team USA became the first host country to win the World Championship.

Coppermine Lacrosse Club participated in the World Festival, which encourages youth, high school, and adult women’s teams to come compete. Players had the opportunity to play some of the best teams from across the US and also took home a championship.

A combination of badminton, tennis, and table tennis, pickleball is fun and easy to learn. It’s played on a badminton-size court, with a tennis-like net, and is played with paddles and a wiffleball.

COPPERMINE IN THE NEWS

e are thrilled to announce that “Players on Air, Inc.,” a community theatre group that has been a pillar in Carroll County for the last five years, is now part of the Coppermine Family of programming; “Coppermine Presents Players W on Air!”

The theatre will continue to devote itself to providing an unmatched experience in theatre and the performing arts for youth to adults. Year-round programming will include special programs, in addition to plays and revues. Starting this fall and continuing throughout the year, Coppermine will offer youth performing arts classes in Carroll County to build a love and foundation in theatre from an early age. Teaching and instruction will be provided by Players on Air. Be on the lookout at the end of summer for these classes!

Collegiate Players on Air will continue to provide seniors in high school to seniors in college a chance to display what they have learned throughout their education, along with providing these young adults a space to hone their acting skills.

We are excited to say that the community theatre that you know and love, will continue to be a staple of Coppermine Pantherplex as we present Players on Air. Join us for our upcoming 5th Anniversary season which will kick off October 7 and 8 with performances of Romeo and Juliet. COPPERMINE UNITED

The second season for Coppermine United soccer is in the books for our women’s Pro-Am UWS-1 and UWS-2 teams and the inaugural season for our Coppermine United men’s team is coming to a close. Our UWS-1 team finished with a record of 9-2-1, scoring 22 goals and allowing 11. They won the Mid-Atlantic Conference title and were Eastern Conference finalists. The UWS-2 team finished with a record of 5-1-0 and were crowned Mid-Atlantic South Conference champions! The men’s team finished their season undefeated with a record of 7-0. Although no team would have been successful if not for the loyal Coppermine United fans who packed the house no matter the game location.

From the Jimmy’s Famous Seafood truck, to Boston Beer providing some adult beverages, to cornhole and more, this season was a blast! We can’t wait to kick it off next year! Learn more HERE!
