The planets! (By Cameron Faulkner)

Mercury…     

Mercury Mercury is 0.3g away from the sun. Mercury is the closest to the sun. Mercury is rising up to 400% of the tempeture Mercury has several pits some of them are 7 mils deep.

EARTH… 

is a Earth's centre (called the "core") may be as high as 7500 K - That's hotter than the surface of the Sun! ~The Earth is the densest major body in the solar system. This means that it's the most "compact" of all the planets. For example, you have two loaves of bread, both of the same amount. You smash one loaf of bread flat. Even though both loaves are of the same amount, the smashed bread is *denser* because it is more compact. ~The Earth is 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old, but the oldest known rocks are less than 4 billion years old. Rocks older than 3 billon years are rare. The oldest fossils of living organisms are less than 3.9 billion years old! ~The Earth is orbited by one moon. Earth, of course, can be studied without the aid of spacecraft. It was not until the twentieth century that we had maps of the entire planet. Pictures of our planet taken from space are very important! They are a big help in predicting the weather especially in tracking and predicting hurricane.

URANUS… 

In astronomy mythology, Uranus was the lord of the skies and husband of Earth. He was also the king of the gods until he was overthrown by his son Saturn.

URANUS….

PLUTO… 

In Roman mythology, Pluto is the god of the underworld. In Greek mythology, he is known as Hades, ruler of the underworld. The planet received this name perhaps because it's so far from the Sun that it is in perpetual darkness.

JUPETER… 

Jupiter is the 5th planet from the Sun, and it`s also the largest planet in our solar system. Jupiter`s diameter is about 12 times the size of our Earth at 85,000 miles. Even though the planet is so massive (it has more mass than all of the other planets put together), it`s only 1.3 times as dense as water. Unlike our Earth, this planet is a gas giant. which means it`s mostly made of gas

JUPETER…

SATURN… 

In Roman mythology, SATURN… Saturn is the god of agriculture. He is known as Cronus in Greek mythology. Cronus was the father of Zeus (Jupiter). Saturn is the root of the English word "Saturday."

VENUS…  

Venus has no moons. Instead of the Sun rising in the east and setting in the west, the Sun on Venus would appear to rise in the west and set in the east. Venus has a few mountainous areas along with extensive flat areas. There are craters and evidence that the surface long ago moved, much like the surface of the Earth moves today. But unlike the Earth's surface, there is no evidence that Venus has a tectonic plate system .

MARS… 

Mars is the god of War. In Greek mythology, he is known as Ares. The planet probably got this name due to its red colour; Mars is sometimes referred to as the "Red Planet." The name of the month March derives from Mars

NEPTUNE ď Ź

This is the symbol for Neptune In Roman mythology Neptune was the god of the Sea. He is known as Poseidon in Greek mythology. The planet was probably named after the sea gods because of its deep blue color. In Roman mythology Neptune was the god of the Sea.
