MICHAEL RESTRICK: NEWWAVE 8 January – 3 February

These striking, large-scale paintings convey different moods evoked by landscape through a stunning use of colour. Michael Restrick uses multiple layers, scratching and sculpting the paint to produce a mesmerising effect of pattern, colour and emotion.

MIRANDA CRESWELL: THE DIDCOT DOG MILE 7 February – 3 March

In the summer of 2012, Miranda Creswell made a detailed landscape drawing on a path overlooking an excavation by Oxford Archaeologists. By positioning herself with a pencil, paper and easel along a popular footpath, conversations began to flow. The result is a collaborative exhibition of Miranda’s sketches, archaeological working drawings, historical photographs, and artwork by local artists celebrating the familiar and changing landscape of Didcot.

ROYAL MICROSCOPICAL SOCIETY: SEEING IS BELIEVING 7 March – 7 April

This exhibition of stunning images from the Royal Microscopical Society’s biennial Micrograph Competition features light and electron micrographs. Experience hidden detail from the biological and material worlds, revealing fascinating minutiae ordinarily hidden from the naked eye. Check the website for information about workshops, talks and interactive opportunities.

JOSHUA ROSE: THE ART OF PLY 11 April – 19 May

Joshua Rose combines his backgrounds in Fine Art and furniture making to create unique and original printed plywood furniture. A range of prints and artworks are also exhibited which have influenced the design of the flat-pack furniture, sometimes being printed directly onto it.

CRAFT BOXES AND WINDOW WALL We have a selection of beautiful crafts made by local artists for sale in our craft boxes. Don’t forget to peruse the jewellery, fashion and other unique designs when you’re here as we have regular new exhibitors. We also display a range of work in our window wall on the west side of our building. There’s always something interesting to see so spare a moment as you walk past!

storytelling with Owen who uses a full set on stage. Time Out called it ‘stand up theatre’ and the Scotsman said ‘spellbinding narrative... wonderful, lyrical, pitch-perfect performance’. BEWARE OF YOUNG GIRLS: THE DORY PREVIN STORY MUSICAL THEATRE This is the story of Dory Previn, queen of 70s confessional songwriters. Dory was married to Andre Previn when he ran off with Mia Farrow and this led to one of Dory’s most famous songs ‘Beware of Young Girls’, but her life is much more than this. Told through Dory’s songs, performed by the wonderful jazz singer Kate Dimbleby, accompanied by pianist Naadia Sheriff, with film projections on our big screen, and between-song humorous banter, this is a theatrical recreation of key elements of Previn’s life and a snap-shop of a vibrant time.

The show is directed by superstar comedy director Cal McCrystal (Peepolykus and the award winning show One Man, Two Guvnors). This is classy and touching musical theatre which made Jenni Murray cry with delight on Woman’s Hour.
