Betty by Thau & Kallio Named after the Betty Nansen theater in Copenhagen, Betty was first launched as a chair. Now the series has been expanded to include a bench with the same distinctive design features and sturdy construction. The chair comes in three versions; TK1 with a seat made from exposed webbing crafted from natural linen fiber, TK2 with a solid wooden seat and TK3 with an upholstered seat. The two benches TK4-5 are made from exposed webbing hand-crafted from natural linen fibers, and while they come flat-packed for safe and environmentally friendly transportation, they boast an exceptionally strong and durable construction.

Pavilion by Anderssen & Voll Located on the castle grounds of Copenhagen’s Kastellet overlooking the waterfront promenade that is home to the Little Mermaid, The Langelinie Pavilion stands with a resilient spirit. The first Pavilion was built in 1885. Echoing its own ability to endure is the Pavilion chair by Andersen & Voll. Here the challenge was to design a stackable chair used for mass seating in this iconic, multi-purpose venue, the Langelinie Pavilion. The Pavilion chair has an airy feeling, with slim arms and legs that give it a light appearance.

Rely by Hee Welling Boasting a shell crafted from 100% recycled plastic, Rely is a chair with environmentally-friendly credentials. Designer Hee Welling dedicated nearly a year to researching the right materials for his latest piece. The inventive recycling process – which Welling continues to fine-tune – sees the chair’s black shells crafted from the black plastic panels found in a car’s interior. Becuase the coloured shells require clear materials that will act as blank canvas, Welling has pioneered a different approach for them, sourcing post industrial waste. After being crushed into small pieces they are mixed with colour and readied for injection moulding. The shell is available in a range of contemporary colours, while made-to-order upholstery for the shell is available in a variety of fabrics. Its base comes as fixed or swivel.

Boomerang by Hvidt & Mølgaard This mid-century lounge chair by duo Hvidt & Mølgaard has a no-frills form. From a hand-polished wooden frame that echoes the pleasing L-shaped symmetry of its Australian namesake, to the slender brass legs that splay out an angle. Its appearance is contemporary, but the Boomerang prioritizes another principle of modern Danish design: that of function. The relaxed slant of the back ensures that one sits with ease, as does the option of a version with armrests. Reversible pillows with removable covers add further support.

Loafer by Space Copenhagen While spearheading the renovation of Arne Jacobsen’s SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, Space Copenhagen sought a subtle look of sophistication for &Tradition’s Loafer lounge chair, where the luxurious feeling came from both the comfort and sense of aesthetics. For the Loafer sofa, designers Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou wanted something equally as simple and streamlined.

Little Petra by Viggo Boesen Initially introduced back in 1938, Little Petra won instant praise at the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers Guild Exhibition, subsequently winning awards at exhibits in New York and Berlin. It’s one of just a few designs by architect Viggo Boesen, who became associated with Denmark’s signature design aesthetic in the 1930s called funkis style. Little Petra is surprisingly petite, able to fit into all kinds of spaces, interiors and environments. Low to the ground, open and embracing, it embodies the essence of a lounge chair, allowing for all kinds of seating positions in any cosy setting imaginable.

Mayor by Arne Jacobsen & Flemming Lassen In 1939 Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen won an open competition to design a new town hall, a new library and a theatre in Søllerød (Rudersdal). For the town hall, they designed a wedding room with accompanying furniture including a sofa for the waiting area for the couple to sit in before getting married. Designed for the solemnity, the appearance of the sofa was shaped with high vertical backs and sides.

Fly
by Space Copenhagen Space Copenhagen´s Fly series signals a sculptural approach to design without sacrificing comfort. Referencing a classic Nordic aesthetic, details and techniques, seen in the slatted wood backrest, organic shapes and solid craftmanship. Fly is a series that allows the users to sit, lie, rest, and relax. Unlike many of the sofas and easy chairs in Scandinavian design history, Fly does not impose any particular posture onto the sitter. The seat itself is optimized for comfort, with loose cushions for the back that can be arranged according to the user’s own needs.

Isole
by Nendo and Luca Nichetto Nendo and Nichetto co-created Isole virtually via a long distance exchange of ideas inspired by traditional Japanese poetry called Tanka, where one person starts the poem and the other person completes it. Isole is Italian for islands, echoed in a unique modular sofa concept replete with individual components. Isole is a versatile sofa with discrete side tables expressed in an aesthetic that’s soft, endearing and inviting.

Lato
by Luca Nichetto At first glance, Lato resembles a sculpture, with its slim, oval or round table top balanced by an oval-shaped base. Striking, graphic and poetic, its purity of form is proof that simple is sophisticated. With Lato, Nichetto wanted to keep the simplicity and streamline into a timeless side table in a style that could easily be the centre of attention.

Shuffle
by Mia Hamborg The Shuffle table seems to conjure images of classic wooden toys and with good reason. The choice of colours and the fact that you can unify and construct the table as you like are all ideas Mia Hamborg got from the Brio Stacking Clown she had as a child. She wants people to feel a sense of joy when they see her design. With the opportunity to decide the shape, colour and height of the table, the Shuffle table is a truly Nordic approach to democratic design.

Pinwheel by Hvidt & Mølgaard First produced in 1953, Hvidt & Mølgaard’s Pinwheel is named after the children’s toy, where a wheel of paper spins around an axle, and draws inspiration from its playful, geometric shape. Designed to be adaptable, this table can be creatively refashioned to suit all sorts of living arrangements. Hvidt & Mølgaard stood at the forefront of mid-century Danish furniture design. Their pieces lend a sculptural element to the spaces they inhabit – and Pinwheel, with its precise and elegant aesthetic, is no exception. Available in either solid oak or walnut, the gleaming brass legs of this decorative piece are finished with a satin polish.

Drop Leaf by Hvidt & Mølgaard Looking to create a versatile piece that would adapt to its surroundings, in 1956 design duo Hvidt & Mølgaard devised the Drop Leaf dining table, with a hinged section on each side that folds down from the fixed centre. Such a space-saving design allows it to adapt to a variety of spaces, from a narrow console to its full expression as a dining table. For tighter spaces, the lounge table version is available. This smaller piece boasts the same curved wooden frames and is also foldable.

In Between by Sami Kallio Inspired by the Scandinavian heritage of design and furniture craftmanship, In Between is a result of Sami Kallio’s solid grounding in traditional woodworking techniques and his eye for ingenious detail. It started with a single chair which later resulted in a series of furniture including both tables and bar stools. The interplay between positive and negative space is central to In Between. Its back and side panels provide a concrete shape and support, but forms are created equally by the gaps in between them. Sitting within the larger In Between series, the new tables carefully echoes many aspects of the In Between chair, from its gentle curvature to the outward splay of its legs.

Nærvær by Norm Architects Nærvær is the Danish word for presence, the concept at heart of this simple table by Norm Architects that invites you to be present. Whether connecting over a conversation or a cosy meal, it’s all about being intimate and in the moment. Powder coated, circular steel base and cylindrical stem supporting a round or square laminate table top. Patch by Hee Welling Crafted by Danish designer Hee Welling, Patch is an extendable dining table that employs a butterfly extension technique to provide seating for extra people. The minimalism of the table’s wooden base and smooth laminate tabletop is offset by a highly functional design. The table is firmly held together by small metal fittings on each leg that lock the table together. In addition to providing stability, these metal patches offer a subtle contrast of materials against the table’s solid wooden frame. The table comes in two sizes: 180 × 90cm or 240 × 100cm.

Tripod by Hvidt & Mølgaard Tripod, a floor lamp built from lacquered steel with brass details, reflects the clean minimalism of Copenhagen-based duo Hvidt & Mølgaard. Named after the three-point composition of its base, its sculptural and sturdy design involves a heavy-weight spherical component at its base, which helps maintain constant balance and ensures that Tripod remains permanently positioned to offer a generous diffusion of light from beneath its brim. Hvidt & Mølgaard first produced sketches of Tripod in 1953 – yet the lamp never found its way to production. Now, many years later, &Tradition is adding this elegant piece to its extensive lighting collection. Available in the colours Black or Maroon.

P376 by Kastholm & Fabricius Preben Juhl Fabricius (1931-1984) and Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) were driven by a mutual mission to make form a pure derivative of function. Both were architects, graduating from the Danish School of Interior Design where they studied under Finn Juhl and subsequently with Arne Jacobsen. The P376 pendant lamp is a perfect example of Kastholm & Fabricius’ subtle architectural slant on design. Originally conceived in 1963, five concentric shades create gradations of curves towards the middle of the lamp to emit a soft, diffused light. The discrete placement of the shades and the silky aluminium finish culminate in a cohesive expression that’s both iconic and enthralling.

Formakami by Jaime Hayon East meets West in Jaime Hayon’s playful tweak of a traditional Asian lantern in contemporary expression. Dating back centuries, paper lanterns have featured in Asia amongst the privileged and the poor, where different colours, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lamps all in white. Hand crafted with rice paper merging various sizes and shapes together. The series is comprised of three different lantern versions and a table lamp in ivory white rice paper with black stained oak accents.
