Richard Munao, Founder & MDThe Cappellini x Marc Newson exhibition was undeniably a highlight of Milan Design Week. It’s a tribute to their enduring collaboration, showcasing iconic designs like the Orgone and Felt Chair that have become modern design classics. Most striking were the limited edition Felt Chairs and the Orgone in the blue selected by Newson that also features on the cover of his new book - Marc Newson Works: 84-24.
To top it off was the opportunity to have my copy of the book signed by Marc himself!
Zanotta
Flagship Showroom
Jeff Tsang, General ManagerThe new Zanotta collection was THE highlight of the week - from the sophisticated use of colour and texture to the array of playful yet striking new designs, the presentation reflects the brand’s evolution into a true lifestyle brand.
My personal favourites: the eclectic collection of Mendini-designed Dealbata vases and the monolithic Z24 cabinets by Muller van Severen.
Mater Alder Collection
Andrea Rolando, Marketing ManagerIn a world where sustainability is at the forefront of everyone’s mind, the Mater Alder collection shines bright as a symbol of innovation and responsibility. Patricia Urquiola’s brilliant design, sculpted from the groundbreaking biodegradable Matek® material, not only radiates charm but also represents a significant leap forward in eco-conscious creativity. It serves as a poignant reminder of the collective imperative to tread lightly on our planet while crafting beauty for generations to come. Alder isn’t just furniture; it’s a manifesto for a greener, more thoughtful future.

70’s Revival
Characterized by bold colors and organic forms, this revival brings a sense of nostalgia blended with modern sensibilities.

Green-tech
There’s been a significant investment from multiple design brands in pushing the boundaries of sustainability, culminating in Mater’s new biodegradable blend of Matek®, a patented material and technology by Mater that turns waste into a mouldable raw material.

Room To Grow
Many brands have focused on expanding existing successful collections. Karakter’s Principal collection by Bodil Kjær introduces new stools and all wood options, Zanotta’s Za:Za line sees an improved sofa along with new pouf and bed additions, and the Cappellini Lud’o collection presents a new table and sofa.

Neutral Touches
In contrast to the explosion of colours in furniture, we’ve seen exceptionally crafted collections of neutral accessories and rugs. From the Zanotta Dealbata trio of vases with graphic 3D elements to the elegant Karakter Tsé series with a distinctive rippled pattern and Nanimarquina’s Chillida collection expansion.
