PRESIDENT’S NOTE PRESIDENT’S NOTE

Hi everyone! Hi everyone!

I hope the month of July has been treating you all well. Recently, I have been busy with a couple of things. Last week, I went camping and it was a nice experience! I got to go swimming and fishing with my family at a lake!

Are you all ready? In the next couple of weeks, school is about to start! I will finally be starting my senior year. On top of that, Cosumnes Oaks Key Club will finally be able to hold school meetings! I’m super excited to start hosting meetings and service projects with you all. One thing I hope to accomplish this year is an increase in attendance, during club meetings and DCMs. During the school year, I will make sure to emphasize the importance of attending meetings, and highlight the benefits that Key Club can bring to you. Thank you to all the members that have been a part of COKC so far. Keep on working hard, Monsters!

HEY KEY CLUBBERS! HEY KEY CLUBBERS! HEY KEY CLUBBERS!

My name is Jamie Lam and I will be serving as your 20242025 COKC Vice President! I decided to be Vice President this year to help COKC find new opportunities in service. Throughout my high school career, I have been very involved in Key Club. I found out about Key Club through my brother because he used to be his school’s treasurer. Watching him dress up for events and create spirit sticks made me want to join Key Club myself. This led me to having multiple positions in Key Club, not only on a club level but also division. I started off as COKC’s Bulletin Editor while being our division Web and Tech Editor from 20242024. I was interested in these two roles because of my love for graphic and web design, which is something I want to do in the future. I was also a part of DJC where I got to help decide which clubs won division awards. My hard work paid off when I found out I won Distinguished Website! Being a part of so many roles in Key Club has made me meet some long term friends and gave me my most unforgettable experiences

On June 29th, Division 7 hosted our annual Officer Training Conference at River City High School! It was such a fun time getting to know other Key Clubbers in Division 7, and attending different workshops throughout the day was also super helpful as an officer myself. Lastly, our advisor Ms. BG got recognized as the Faculty Advisor of the Month. I’d highly encourage you guys to attend OTC or our upcoming RTC to learn more about being an officer for Key Club!

As President of COKC and DNE of D7S, I took part in presenting an Editor workshop. I worked with a D7N DLT member to create the presentation. We covered many topics such as Articles and Visuals, the benefits of social media, resources, and more. I think that the experience prepared me for future club meetings, through editing and presenting the workshop. In the future, I definitely encourage you guys to present, since it was a great experience leading a workshop of my own!
