STICKS AND HUMAN The stick was on of mankind‘s first products. It is a multifunctional tool: one can play with it, work with it, indicate with it. Yet, its reputation does not refect its possibilities. It is only seen as a tool for the old and challenged. Until the 1930s though, it was a symbol of its owners sense of culture, social status and individuality. The project “Stick and Human” contains fve different sticks. The Coffee-to-go-stick talks about the today‘s disposing society and its fast pace. It presents the current eating and drinking culture of giving yourself a treat and being on the run again right after. The stick‘s material is contrary to the throw-away-society. Porcelain is the material of traditional coffee sets but the stick‘s form is taken from cups to-go. It symbolizes motion as well as rest.

The iPhone-stick uses a mobile phone as the constant companion of human beings in a way the stick used to be. Man always ftted sticks to his personality and ways of life as well as the stick ftted him. In today‘s smartphone era, one can be connected to anyone or anything at anytime and anywhere. There is no need to practice our social skills since they have been replaced by fngers gesturing on displays. The smartphone became the most present product of society with Apple‘s iPhone as its icon. The iPhone-stick has the character of an medieval sceptre with all it stands for. laundry baskets Polyp ist ein Wäschekorb - und ein Wandornament. Die Wäsche wird ganz einfach durch die Öffnung vorne in den Korb gestopft. Quillt die Wäsche vorne raus, ist der Korb voll - die Menge ergibt genau eine Waschmaschinenladung. Die Öffnung des Wäschekorbs ist konkav - daher kann auch beim Abnehmen des Korbes kein Wäschestück herausfallen. Der Korb ist einfach zu tragen dank seiner Einbuchtung. In mehreren Körben kann die Wäsche leicht sortiert werden, und wenn diese an der Wand hängen, ergibt sich ein in sich greifendes, interessantes Ornament. Polyp is a laundry-basket - and an ornament on the wall. Just put the laundry through the hole in front of the basket. If it wells forth, the basket is full - the quantity just fits to load the washing machine. The hole of the laundry basket is concave, so nothing can fall out when the basket is put off the wall. The basket can be carried easily, due to its form. The laundry is well assorted in a few baskets. Attached to each other the baskets compose an interesting ornament on the wall. dishwasher concept Das Konzept colo bricht mit der alten Handhabung einer Spülmaschine. Es ist eine Reduzierung der Maschine auf das Wesentliche, orientiert am Benutzer. Colo verschmilzt die Maschine mit dem Spülbecken. Es findet ebenso eine Reduzierung des Aufwandes der Bedienung statt. Das Geschirr muss nicht mehr einzeln einsortiert werden, sondern wird durch Tabletts in die Spüle gestellt, die zugleich als Regaleinheit dienen. The colo-concept breaks with the handling-habits of an oldfashioned dishwasher. It‘s a reduction of the machine to its essentials, orientated on user-needs. Colo merges the dishwasher with the sink. at this, handling-complexity is also reduced to a minimum. There is no need to sort in the dishes piece for piece, simply place the tray with all of it in the sink, and simply put the tray back on the wall when it‘s done.

ist ein begehbarer Kleiderschrank. Er nutzt das System alter Archivschränke um auf kleinstem Raum viel Stauraum zu schaffen. In die vorderen Schränke lassen sich die Kleider hängen und in dem unteren Schubkasten befinden sie je Schrank zwei Schubladen. Diese lassen sich mit einem Handgriff in eine Treppe verwandeln um auch ganz oben Sachen verstauen zu könne. In einem der Vorderschränke kann die nasse Wäsche direkt zum Trocknen aufgehangen werden. Im hinteren Schrank lassen sich durch bestimmt angeordnete Rohre Schuhe, Schals, Taschen, etc unterbringen und die zusätzlich mitgelieferten Schubladen ebenfalls einhängen. Um nicht im Dunklen zu stehen, wird jeder Bereich mit einer prismaförmigen Lampe erleuchtet die ganz einfach durch das Ziehen an einer Schnur angeschaltet wird.

is a walk-in wardrobe. It uses the system of old filing cabinets to create a lot of storage room within little space. Clothes can be hanged in the front cubicle, in the lower part of the wardrobe are two drawers which can be turned into a ladder with a flick of the wrist, so that things can be stored a the very top. In one of the cubicles in the front wet laundry can be hanged for drying. In the back part, shoes, bags and scarfs can be stored through a system of tubes, also the additional drawers can be mounted there. All parts of the wardrobe are illuminated with a prism-shaped lamp that is switched on simply by pulling on a cord.
analog/digital/lamp grundidee der e12 ist die verknüpfung des analogen schreibtisches mit dem digitalen. die dreiseitige schreibtischlampe kann flexibel dort errichtet werden, wo licht benötigt wird. das schnelle aufstellen und zusammenfalten, um sie tragen zu können, wird durch den klappmechanismus vereinfacht. die über einen akku betriebenen leds, garantieren eine gute ausleuchtung des schreibtisches und eine farbechte wiedergabe der dokumente. mit der, im kopf integrierten, kamera können per gestensteuerung aufnahmen von analogen dokumenten gemacht werden, die anschließend digital verwaltet und archviert werden.

Tischlein deck dich. „Tischlein Deck Dich“ („The Wishing-Table“) is a drop-leaf table which can be used as storage reck, too. Built in the table leaf from beech are differently sized semispheres to store food. This bowls can be taken out for cleaning. Cut-out pieces from the table plate are used as lids, which close securely thanks to strong magnets though can be opened easily through the sunk-in hold. Fixed to the wall it is space-saving and an appetising decoration - as the food tempts from within the glass spheres. When it comes to satisfying the hunger the table can be simply folded down, additionally stabilised by another, wooden semisphere, where e.g. cutlery can be stored. Up to four people can sit a the „Tischlein Deck Dich“, which also fits in cornes very well, due to its tilted design. Enjoy your meal!

Das „Tischlein Deck Dich“ ist ein Klapptisch, der auch die Funktion eines Regals übernimmt. In die Tischplatte aus Buche sind verschieden große Glashalbkugeln eingelassen, die der Aufbewahrung von Lebensmitteln dienen. Diese Gefäße können herausgenommen und auch gereinigt werden. Verschlossen werden sie durch die Ausschnitte der Tischplatte, die dank der eingelassenen Griffe und Magneten einen festen Halt bieten. Nutzer brauchen nur noch die Deckel öffnen und sich an den gedeckten Tisch setzen. Appetitliche Wanddekoration ist der Tisch, wenn er an die Wand geklappt ist, was Platz spart - und Appetit auf mehr macht, denn die Lebensmittel sind durch die Glaskugeln sichtbar. Um den Hunger zu stillen, wird der Tisch ganz einfach herunter geklappt und durch eine vierte Kugel aus Vollholz zusätzlich stabilisiert. Diese Kugel ist hohl und kann zur Aufbewahrung von zum Beispiel Besteck verwendet werden. Vier Personen haben Platz am „Tischlein Deck Dich“, das durch seine schräge Form auch ideal in Ecken verwendet werden kann. Guten Appetit!
PROSTHETIC Prothesen geben dem Menschen nicht nur die durch den Verlust des Körperteils verlorenen Fähigkeiten zurück, sondern können diese sogar erweitern. Zudem ergeben sich viele Möglichkeiten, das äußere Erscheinungsbild des Menschen durch Prothesen zu gestalten. Bei dem Projekt „Prosthetic“ wird die Prothese nicht mehr als Teil des Handicaps gesehen, und auch nicht als Versuch, den menschlichen Körper und seine Funktionen nachzuahmen. Denn die Gestaltung von Medizinprodukten kann das Selbstverständis behinderter Menschen stärken. Diese Prothese zeigt, was heutzutage durch Automatisierung und Technik alles möglich ist. Der Prothesenträger kann damit ein neues Lebensgefühl erlangen, kann neue Fähigkeiten erlernen, sein Handicap soll nicht mehr als Handicap gesehen werden.

Artficial limbs give back not only the abillities lost with that certain body part but can even enhance them. Also, a lot of opportunities are opened up to remodel a person‘s appearance through a prosthesis. The project „Prosthetic“ no longer regards a prothesis as part of the handicap, nor as attempt to imitate the human body and its functions, because the design of medical devices can boost the self-image of a handicapped person. This prosthesis demonstrates what is possible with modern techniques and automation. The person with this prosthesis is able to increase quality of life, to learn new abbilities, hence its handicap should no longer be seen as a handicap.
