Recycling Boost For Community
A Thetford-based community litter picking group has enhanced its environmental credentials after it teamed up with a local waste collector. The community litter pick takes place each month in Thetford, regularly attracting more than 10 local residents who help remove litter from across the Burrell Ward. Now, thanks to the support of Countrystyle Recycling based in Barnham, all of the cans and bottles collected as part of the litter pick are being recycled. Councillor Terry Jermy who organises the monthly litter pick said; “We were amazed with how many cans and bottles we were collecting each month. We’re grateful to Serco and Breckland Council for supporting us by taking away the bulk of what we collect but we really wanted to recycle as much as we possibly could.
