Serving Tillamook County for 53 Years

Burden’s Muffle & Towing Service is a third generation Tillamook business.

Burden’s Muffler Towing & Crane Service Inc. is a third generation Tillamook business, that was started in 1970 by Don & Linnea Burden when Sylvia was 6 months old. Don first had the Texaco station at the North entry to downtown Tillamook. Eventually Don wanted more room and purchased the Enco Station directly across the street. Don had a pit built in the one end of the shop and added on to the building for two more work bays, with a fenced yard in the back for wrecked vehicles. Their daughter Sylvia worked during her school years and eventually full time. Rick was basically raised at the business and just enjoys convincing Dad to purchase more trucks to add to our fleet. We currently have three crane trucks and have added a semi & landoll trailer to the fleet. Jeremy & Justin Schriber (Sylvia’s) boys have both joined the family business, Jeremy while still and High School, and Justin after completing West Coast Training for Crane Trucks and was put to work with us full time in 2020.

Many kids play video games for entertainment, but there are some kids in Oregon who use these games to gamble. Country entertainers Home Free open concert series on Aug. 9

Opening the 2023 Tillamook County Fair’s concert series on Wednesday, August 9 is the all-vocal Country entertainers, Home Free. Having made their mark on the music scene, racking up nearly 600,000 album equivalents globally; embarking on major international tours; amassing 630+ million views and over 1.6 million Subscribers on YouTube; Home Free has been declared “Country music fans’ favorite acappella group” (Taste of Country).

In 2023, Home Free continued a global tour in support of their most recent studio album, So Long Dixie, (released November 2022) and will embark on their Home Free for the Holidays tour this Winter.

“So Long Dixie” vaulted to the top spot of the Billboard Charts for Country Album Sales and Independent Album Sales in its release week, topping some of the biggest names in country music. The release extends their run of Top-5 Billboard Country chart appearances total to seven in the last six years.

With praise rolling in from the likes of

Billboard, Rolling Stone, FOX & Friends and

Elvie Shane closes out the Fair’s concert series on August 11

Elvie Shane closes out the Fair’s concert series on Friday night, August 11. As a native of small-town Kentucky whose influences range from Dwight Yoakam and Steve Earle to classic rock, Gospel, R&B and hip hop, Wheelhouse Records’ Elvie Shane has

emerged as a country star with his heart on his sleeve – and as a champion of those with their name on a patch. Breaking out with the Platinum certified Number One single, “My Boy,” the singer/ songwriter first took a stand for family values

that go far beyond bloodlines, setting himself apart with a deeply felt 2020 tribute to step-parents and their unconditional love. Hailed by critics from Billboard and Rolling Stone to the Nashville Scene and beyond, the track helped launch

Shane’s 2021 album BACKSLIDER onto multiple Best Of lists, winning over fans with its gritty yet gracious fusion of heartland rock, modern country and stand-for-something purpose. With over 265 million career streams and counting, that fusion often presents itself onstage as a mix of rebellious energy, indelible imagery, and working-class pride, and it has made Shane a favorite all across the globe.

Pairing his headlining MY KINDA TROUBLE TOUR in 2021 with high-profile opening slots for Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Brothers Osborne,

Brooks & Dunn and Lady A, among others, plus country’s biggest festivals and a 2023 tour across the heart of Europe, he’s capped it all with a nomination for Best New Country Artist at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, and is now laying the groundwork for a new chapter. Following inclusion on the star studded Stoned Cold Country tribute to The Rolling Stones 60th anniversary (submitting a special version of “Sympathy for the Devil”), Shane’s new tracks include “Baptized” and “Forgotten Man” out now.

Rolling Stone praises “Forgotten Man” as it “expertly sums up what it means to be blue-collar

in the 21st century in this defiant, angry country single that would do Merle Haggard proud.” An anthem for those chasing the American dream with calloused hands and a weary, but still-believing heart, it’s another example of Shane’s deep-feeling take on country, as a new blue-collar generation arrives.
