Council directs staff to amend Cultural Center agreement Re-designed iconic building will serve multiple partners

A crowd estimated between 1,500 and 1,800 braved the threatening weather to enjoy the Crescent City Christmas Light Parade and celebration of the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree. The route serpentined south down H Street, easterly on 3rd Street, and south on K, to the delight of the warmly-dressed onlookers. Parade co-sponsor Potter Real Estate praised all 25 float/ walking entries and the crowd which braved the cool temperatures observing the parade and tree lighting ceremony. Winning entries included Del Norte High School Cheer, Marine Mammal Center. US Forest Service, Potter Real Estate, Crescent Elk and Cheer, City of Crescent City Fred Endert pool. Special thanks was given to Green Diamond Resource for the tree donation, Hemmingsen Construction delivered the tree, the Del Norte Fair for donating the Santa Clause stage and Del Norte High School Madrigals sang carols. Ana Potter remarked the crowd which viewed the parade and tree lighting was the largest she’s ever witnessed.

Tommy Tyrrel is a Local Boy. For most of his 38 years, Tommy has followed his passion for skateboarding and surfing. For the last seven years, he’s been in retail sales. Tommy saw his future as a building inspector or contractor. When the economy soured in 2008, Tommy switched gears and changed career paths. “We didn’t have a Boys and Girls Club nor a YMCA back then. We kids used to meet at the old Noll Surf store. “I used to envision and dream of having a store to serve local youth in skateboarding and surfing.”

Sutter Coast Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mitch Hanna is stepping down after serving an illustrious three-decade career in healthcare administration. Hanna served in the dual CEO capacity of both Sutter Coast and Sutter AuMitch Hanna burn Faith Hospitals. An attorney, after beginning his career in health administration in 1986 in Modesto, Hanna later became assistant general counsel. In 1999. Hanna later became CEO of Sutter Coast Hospital and Sutter Auburn Faith. Under his leadership, Hanna accepted the reins and led his team in Crescent City in: • Opening a 10-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Center, • Opening of the Sutter Coast Infusion Center, • Development of a Dialysis Center on the SCH campus, • Opened a hospice service, • Significant expansion of healthcare services in Brookings, including an Imaging Center, outpatient therapy services and a broad representation of specialty coverage. • The ongoing care and guidance through the COVID-19 pandemic, even while navigating its impacts on the healthcare workers. Hanna will work in transition with interim CEO Dan Peterson through the month of December. Hanna reaped huge praise
