Twenty-one vans came to the Junior School at Wells which we had to use at very short notice owing to roofing works being carried out at our proposed venue at Alderman Peel School. Despite this we all had a good time. Friday evening we had the usual bingo, profitable for some and Saturday most went into town and some even further afield. Saturday evening we had a music quiz compered in his inimitable style by Mr. Richard Sanders. If we thought that Jan Hague’s quiz the previous rally was devious Richard excelled himself with this one. However it was enjoyed by all with good natured banter. The parking team excelled themselves. Sunday Chairman's chat, coffee etc. and we all went off having had a good time. Thanks to all who helped sorting the hall out and tea ladies. Forty-one vans came to Acle Academy, again for our AGM Rally. Keith and helpers set the hall up before members arrived at 1pm. We were able to use the large play area and odd spaces but we all got in. Once again well done to the parking team. Friday evening we had cheese and wine organised by Carol and Derek which went down well and we even promoted Betty Cox to "Betty 3 grapes." After everyone had had the refreshments, including seconds if wanted, we played bingo called by Derek the Diabolical. Saturday afternoon we had our AGM which went off well eventually. Election results as follows: Keith Poole Chair; Derek Clarke Secretary; Carol Biggs Treasurer; Tony Park Vice Chair; Teresa Poole Rally Officer; Committee Brian and Jenny Wood, Rex and Betty Cox,

Bob Johns and David Seals. During the interval tea and cakes were served. Saturday evening we were entertained by Steve Moyse who kept us going the whole time. He is a versatile singer with something for everyone’s music or dancing taste. The ghoulies, ghosties and witches were much in evidence with some great get ups. Just as well we had to alter the clocks that night. The extra hour in bed was appreciated by many. Sunday morning dawned just as the weather forecast with rain, heavy at times, and gusting winds. Fortunately it did ease off a bit for members to get into the hall (actually the school gym) for tea, cake, Dodgy Dip, a large raffle and Chairman's Chat. Thanks to all who helped to put the gym back in its normal state at the end and the tea ladies. Scribe Derek Upcoming rallies: 3-5 December at Alderman Peel School, Wells next the Sea. Xmas party. 30 December-2 January at Terrington St. Clements Village Hall. New Year. (This rally is fully booked at time of writing but check to see if any cancellations). 28-30 January at Roydon Village Hall IP22 5RB. Starts: 4.30pm. Please note that any 2022 rallies that need booking will be taken from noon on Sunday the 9th January 2022.

AVON Thanks go to Jane and Pat for hosting the Sharpness rally with help from Bob and John, who kindly parked the 35 vans who came along. We enjoyed fine weather and people chose to walk to the marina or along the foreshore with views of the Severn. In the evening >> December 2021 MOTOR CARAVANNER 29
