ello lovely readers, and welcome to another issue of Your Herts and Beds Wedding. As the weather warms up and the daffodils start peeping through, it’s time to welcome spring with open arms. We’re one step closer to summer, and although I’m dreaming of those beach days soaking up the sun, spring is such a special time of year. I love being in nature surrounded by blooming flowers and as a huge animal lover, I’m so excited for adorable animals to be born! The time of year is perfect for exchanging vows, and we can begin utilizing outdoor spaces for the “I dos”, drinks receptions, garden games, chill out areas and more. As we get closer to July, I can’t help but get even more excited for my colleague Melissa to tie the knot to the lovely Dave. As a bridesmaid, I’ve loved supporting my close friend and helping her prepare for such an important day – I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle! I’ve found my perfect attire, a sage green cold-shoulder dress, and all I need now is to find those perfect finishing touches. We’ve worked hard this issue to provide you with plenty of inspiration, top tips, dreamworthy gowns, picture-perfect venues and more. It doesn’t matter if you’re at the start of your wedding journey or looking for those last-minute touches – we’ve got you covered. That’s all from me; now sit back, relax and celebrate anything and everything wedding. Happy planning!

Moments

24

REAL WEDDING

S

am and Matt first met online and after a few dates, everything started to fall into place. Sam says, “We had dinner at Matt’s before I drove us to the cinema to see the remake of the Star Wars franchise. A Madonna track came on in the car and Matt thought, ‘wow this guy has taste’.” Matt proposed while the pair was on holiday in Las Vegas. Initially, he wanted to pop the question on the first night while having dinner, but he hadn’t accounted for the jet lag, time difference and the seven glasses each of champagne. The next intimate opportunity was after a Cher concert. Sam comments, “I had got the event’s start time wrong, so the evening mood wasn’t great when we turned up and Cher was finishing the last few songs. While watching the performance, Matt had disappeared behind me and reappeared on one knee. He had to ask if I was okay as I cried a lot and if it was a yes or no – of course, I said yes!”

SETTING THE SCENE When it came to creating their dream wedding, the couple wanted to enjoy the run-up to the day as much as possible. Sam says, “We were always told that the day is over in a flash, so we wanted the planning experience to be as fun and memorable as the big day. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and our wedding being postponed, it gave us another year of planning.” After searching around Hertfordshire for a venue, the couple couldn’t settle on one particular space. Sam says, “We found some properties to be restrictive and very centred around brides. When a family friend suggested using the grounds of her house for our day, we jumped at the opportunity to create a bespoke wedding from scratch. Two days before the big day, the couple set up the marquee and decorated the spaces – they couldn’t wait to show their loved ones! Sam says, “We bought apple crate boxes from a local garden centre and had our florist create amazing tall centrepieces, which allowed our guests to see each other easily.” Green and white foliage was featured throughout the wedding, including in the stationery and the pair’s buttonholes. Inside the marquee, the pair wanted the middle support pole to have a large round bar and a hanging wreath to create a real focal point. Guests were given hand sanitisers for favours and scratch cards, which they all did at the same time for some added fun. For the wedding breakfast, loved ones enjoyed a delicious roast dinner. A member of each table carved the meat, and people could help themselves to as little or as much as they liked. Sam says, “We had commemorative aprons made for those carving the meets to keep their outfits clean and to take home as a memento.” He adds, “We both love the canapés served during the drinks reception, there was lots of various dishes constantly flowing.” The couple wanted a showstopping dish for dessert and opted for a coquembouche for each table to enjoy. The couple served an elegant cake in the evening. Sam says, “We both wanted to keep the design visually classic, while focusing more on the flavours. Taking our parents to the cake tasting session was one of our most funniest moments throughout the planning experience; getting everyone’s opinion meant a lot to us.”

LOOKING THE PART Every couple wants to look amazing on their wedding day and with a bit of help from the experts, Sam and Matt looked incredible. Sam comments, “We have a friend who styles people for award shows and red-carpet events. He kindly offered to help us find our suits, and we all went shopping together in London.” He adds, “Keeping it in mind that we wanted a classic look, we found our suits in Reiss and Matt got a waistcoat from Moss Bros.” Before the wedding, the grooms-to-be found a new aftershave to wear on the special day. They could wear this in the future to remind them of such a special occasion. 25

Sam says, “We knew early on that we wanted to spend the evening before and morning of the wedding together. We loved getting ready with music in the background, a glass of champagne and having that time together alone. It also gave us a chance to tell each other how great the other person looked and reassure them.” The groomsmen all looked great in navy suits with matching shoes and ties to the newlyweds. Sam and Matt wanted the grooms’ women to be as comfortable as possible as they have different body shapes and sizes – so no one dress would look the same on them all. With the task of finding navy gowns, their best girls found dresses online that made them all look and feel beautiful.

TIME TO CELEBRATE The lovebirds surprised loved ones with performances from a drag queen and West End singer halfway through the wedding breakfast to keep them entertained. Sam says, “We wanted as much crowd participation as possible with people on their feet, and that’s what we got. Show tunes, ballads and an ABBA mega mix got every dancing – even on their chairs!” The entertainers performed again for the evening guests, so they felt as much part of the day as possible. Sam says, “People were hugging each other and sung their hearts out – there was so much euphoria in the room.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTS The couple had their group and couple shots an hour before guests arrived for the ceremony. Sam says, “We had a lovely intimate time together with our photographer and didn’t miss out on the social side of the drinks reception. It also saved guests being taken away from conversations and time with other people.” The grooms both felt so relaxed on the day and enjoyed every moment. The wedding was full of celebrations, and a highlight for the pair was watching loved ones dancing, laughing and hugging all day. Kelly Hawes Celebrant was one of the highlights of Sam and Matt’s wedding. Sam comments, “Kelly first got to know us at a meeting, which was like talking to a friend, and she understood our story perfectly.” He continues, “Even though we postponed our day, Kelly kept in touch to arranged meetings and contacted those doing readings to share advice.” After the ceremony, guests came up to the pair to comment on how excellent Kelly was – they thought she’d known the couple for years!

oshua and Theresa’s adventure together first started at Center Parcs Woburn Forest, where they both worked. Over time, the couple created many memories together and fell in love. They reached a point in their relationship and both decided that getting married was the next chapter in their story. After picking out an engagement ring together, Josh decided he still wanted to propose. Theresa says, “I had just got my dream job as a mental health nurse, and we went for dinner to celebrate.” She continues, “During our meal, Josh replaced my other rings with the engagement ring before asking me to marry him. It wasn’t the extravagant proposal some might expect, but it was definitely us!” Here Theresa shares details about their special day…

THE PERFECT

Sophie and Dave had a beautiful wedding with a burnt orange colour scheme Images courtesy of Red Peacock Photography

S

ophie and Dave first met at work and instantly felt a connection. The time shared together was always exciting and fun – there wasn’t a dull moment. After getting to know each other more, the pair fell deeply in love and the rest is history.

Dave proposed to Sophie on his birthday in a restaurant in St Albans; it was a total surprise and caused many happy tears. They set a date in October 2021, and created the perfect wedding. Here Sophie share details about their special day... 35

I felt a million dollars when I first saw myself all ready.

A part that stood out the most was walking down the aisle and seeing Dave’s face.

Our number one wedding goal was to have all our loved ones in the same room.

We loved The Priory’s rustic barn, which had a bar and plenty of space for dancing.

Our seating plan was on an easel, and we named tables after places we had visited together.

36

REAL WEDDINGS

On each table we had a wooden slab with flowers and tea lights on.

We picked orange flowers to match our colour scheme.

I picked an ivory dress by Oleg Cassini, which was comfortable and made me cry the first time I tried it on. My bridesmaids wore silk halterneck gowns in burnt orange.

Dave wore a navy three-piece suit with a grey waistcoat.

The groomsmen wore the same suit as Dave but with blue waistcoats to allow him to stand out. 37

We wanted a live band and hired a company called Happy Hour, we would highly recommend the musicians – our guests were dancing till the very last song!

The speeches were hilarious and had everyone engaged.

Little Rose Events did a fantastic job decorating the barn; it was everything we had imagined.

We opted for a semi-naked cake.

We felt like the luckiest couple on the day!

teeped in history, the Walled Gardens at Woodhall Estate created the perfect backdrop to this beautiful shoot, which featured a pastel colour scheme. Shoot coordinator Elizabeth Hall at Thirteen Twelve Consulting worked alongside an excellent team of suppliers to create an elegant day. The event started with bridal preparations in the Garden House, one of the venue’s two luxury accommodation options, followed by a ceremony set in the beautiful grounds. Sara’s Events Flowers & Styling provided a selection of beautiful arrangements in a palette of soft pastels to add to the stunning space – the results are stunning! After the ceremony, the model changed outfits from an A-line Sassi Holford dress to a sleek Stephanie Allin gown with statement sleeves. The model’s hair and make-up were kept

simple and accessories from Rachel Sokhal Bridal Accessories completed the looks perfectly. The elegant cake created by Emily Jane Cakes was adorned with pearls and styled with fresh florals to create an opulent feel. Stories Event Hire displayed the bake on a vintage dresser, adding to the elegant overall style. The team at Hall & Co. Event Design styled an elegant lounge area under a tree, which created the perfect backdrop to photography. The mixture of textures and pastel tones alongside classic French-inspired furniture created a quiet corner where the couple could relax. The day finished with the bride and groom’s exit in an epic green Land Rover Defender, paying perfect homage to the countryside setting. 41

Award-winning haircare brand, Innersense Organic Beauty, has launched Serenity Smoothing Cream (£24), a nutrient-rich formula suitable for all hair types delivering a flawless and bouncy blow dry with a sleek look. Baobab and frangipani help to lock in moisture, as well as providing care for hair exposed to heated styling tools and strengthening strands without weighing them down. A GROWER, NOT A THROWER

Recycling in the beauty industry is notoriously difficult, but here’s a clever invention by award-winning eco-pencil company Sprout World, designed not only to reduce waste, but to give something beautiful and useful back to the planet – recycling at its finest I have to say! Introducing Sprout Makeup Pencils (£9.95), the world’s first zero-waste plantable make-up pencils. Yep, plantable! Just use as normal and instead of throwing them away when they become too small to use, flip them around, stick the end into a pot of damp soil and ta-da – beautiful, bee-friendly wildflowers will start to sprout within 1-2 weeks. CHILLED-OUT SKIN

Adaptogens have been used for thousands of years in ancient Chinese medicine and ayurvedic remedies to help mitigate the effects of stress on the body, and until recently have mostly been used in herbal supplements and teas to regulate stress levels. But they could also offer the solution to stressed-out skin. MARA Volcanic Sea Clay Detox Masque (£48) contains aswagandha, a skin-strengthening herb and adaptogen powered by antioxidants, which works to fight free radicals, boost hydration and soothe stressed-out, blemish-prone skin. This multi-tasker is designed to lighten the appearance of dark circles, make eye bags less visible, hydrate and plump the sensitive eye area for 24 hours and protect the skin’s barrier function. It can even make eyelashes appear stronger and feel silkier. I love the instantly soothing effect it has on the delicate eye area after scrubbing away to remove make-up. Q+A VITAMIN C BRIGHTENING SERUM £9 (30ml), www.qandaskin.com “This product absorbed quickly and left my skin soft and silky in minutes. In just two days use, morning and night, my blemish-filled complexion had begun to clear and a soft glow had taken hold. Just one pump is enough to cover the entire face, so despite the bottle’s small size, it’s definitely going to last.” – Beth Morton

SKINCARE SUPERHEROES Serums are the skincare essentials of the 20s, especially if you’re on the quest for a radiant big-day complexion WISHFUL THIRST TRAP JUICE SERUM £41 (30ml), www.feelunique.com “The first thing to make me smile about this serum was its fresh scent, I could pick out the rose and aloe vera notes instantly. The second was the ease of application as it glided on smoothly. This mix of hyaluronic acid with firming peptides has benefited my skin, which is glowing and more hydrated.” – Claire Ridley

GLOW RECIPE GUAVA VITAMIN C DARK SPOT SERUM £41 (30ml), www.cultbeauty.co.uk “This super serum had me hooked from the moment I picked up its 100 per cent recyclable packaging and shelfworthy pink bottle. It doesn’t claim to be a miracle worker but my mature skin soaked it up without leaving a trace and although I can’t report that my dark spots have disappeared, it has certainly made a difference. My skin already appears more even with a healthier glow so I’ll definitely be sticking with it!”– Sarah Reeve ROC MULTI CORREXION HYDRATE + PLUMP SERUM CAPSULES £35.99 for 30, www.feelunique.com “Using one serum capsule every night for a week so far has made my skin feel soft and smooth. It’s helped solve my dry-skin problem and given me a glowing complexion. Look you big-day best with top expert advice

HAIR GOALS I’ve seen some gorgeous pictures of messy buns and textured up dos, but my hair is so thin and straight. Can I still get this look? With a mixture of products and modern techniques, creating a textured up do with fine hair is very achievable. Prepping hair is key, and here are a few top tips to help… ♥ I like to layer products to create a great base; using a lightweight flexible-hold mousse adds an effortless and airy texture to your hair. ♥ Dry shampoo is a great product that will add volume to your roots to create a fuller appearance and good texture to work with. ♥ One of my favourite products to use is a root powder, which gives the hair a strong hold and makes the strands more pliable to work with. ♥ Backcombing is a classic and must-have technique that will thicken and add texture to your hair – I find it’s the building block for up dos.

♥ A couple of clip-in extensions can add the volume and fullness needed to create certain looks. ♥ Using some padding is a great way to add more volume and fullness to the style. You can cut them down to any size and pins can be used to support the weight. Kim Sandford | Kim Sandford Hairdressing www.kimsandfordhairdressing.co.uk

FASHION-ICON My hubby-to-be wants to wear something that’s on-trend. What styles, colours and materials are popular right now? In terms of suit trends, there’s a real focus on details at the moment. We’re seeing slightly wider lapels on jackets and highwaisted trousers, which give a retro feel but crafted in a more modern way – the look is smart but with a relaxed style. We’re creating suits with a softer construction with less padding in the chest and shoulders. Comfort on your wedding day is crucial, and this style both looks and feels great. Navy is always a popular shade for wedding suits, but the current trend is moving towards breathable cloths with matt finishes, which look great on camera. We’re finding that our grooms are being much more experimental with their suit linings as patterns, prints and colours allow grooms to show off some more personality. Finally, the ultimate finishing touch to any suit is some personalised embroidery tucked away in the jacket or inside the shirt collar. You could have your names and even the wedding date embroidered onto the fabric, it’s a great way to surprise your other half on the big day. Dav Sehra | Acre & Row | www.acre-row.com

HOT TOPIC Local experts offer stellar advice on wedding dilemmas

STEP INTO SPRING My wife-to-be and I are getting married next spring and we’d like some shots to reflect the season. Do you have any suggestions? Spring is a fantastic time to get married as everything begins to bloom. Make sure to take outdoor shots if your venue has spring flowers and blossom trees. The weather can still be a little unpredictable, but you can have this issue any month in the UK. The days are longer in spring with it getting dark from around 6pm, this means your photographer will be able to capture golden hour, dusk and night shots before they leave. You don’t often get the opportunity for night shots in the summer months, as you’d be waiting till around 10pm to take them Becky Kerr | Becky Kerr Photography www.beckykerrphotography.co.uk

SPRING FEVER What should we keep in mind when planning an outdoor wedding in spring? It’s perfectly possible to have a beautiful outdoor wedding in spring if you plan correctly. Don’t forget the practical issues of getting your guests and suppliers to where they need to be. Wheelchairs and a boggy ground aren’t a great mix, so think about pathways and access. Gardens are beautiful this time of year and are full of stunning colours. To make the most of these spaces for photographs, consider having brollies on standby or even a pair of wedding wellies just in case. A cloak room or area for coats and umbrellas will help avoid bulky items appearing in your indoor wedding photos, which you’ll especially want to avoid in the ceremony and wedding breakfast shots. Be prepared and you’ll be ready for anything. Vikki Richman | Your Wedding Friend www.yourweddingfriend.co.uk

EXPERT ADVICE

www.claresmithphotography.co.uk

PLANNING SOS We’re currently planning our spring wedding; what advice can you share with us? When planning a wedding for this time of year, focus on the colourful details and floral designs. I think of lots of pastel colours paired with white touches and glass features when it comes to spring. Style your tables with cylinder floating candles and small vases full of fresh flowers to bring light, texture and elegance to your day. You could even grow and pick your own blooming flowers to save on the budget and be more sustainable; this is perfect if you want to achieve an Englishgarden style. Ensure to invest in napkins to bring your season to life. Most venues include standard white ones, but bringing a splash of colour onto your tables can transform the wedding styling and tablescape. Go for a linen sage green napkin tied loosely and placed on top of your charger plates. Add a beautiful abundance of fresh flowers to lift the room and bring the season to life. Lauren Cooper | LBC Weddings and Events www.lbcweddingsandevents.co.uk

FOOD FOR THOUGHT We’re having a festival-style wedding, but we’re unsure how to incorporate catering into our day. What ideas can you suggest? The food should be fun, ultimately tasty and easy to eat on the go as no one wants to be carrying around a three-course meal. Our advice is to choose a food van that you’d visit at a festival. If the budget allows, go for more than one option to keep all your guests happy, or pick a company that offers a selection of menu items covering different food preferences and dietary requirements. Our mantra at The Horsebox UK is ‘simple things done well’, and our toasties are just that. Our food isn’t overcomplicated but darn tasty and easy to eat while catching up with loved ones. Weddings can be all too formal and in choosing a festival-style wedding, you’ll want to remove some of the formalities. Don’t get too caught up on timings. We would generally give a four-hour window where guests can come and grab some food at their leisure – although we never leave until everyone is fed and happy. Some guests naturally want to eat earlier than others, and some might only get hungry after creating an appetite on the dancefloor. The option keeps the queuing to a minimum and allows more time to celebrate. Ashley Skipp | The Horsebox UK www.thehorseboxuk.com 65

CAKES

BIG-DAY BAKES Our experts share popular cake trends for spring and summer weddings

SARAH SACCO | LAYERS & GRACES CAKE DESIGN We will see a record number of couples getting married this year, with spring and summer looking very busy. Simple cakes are becoming more popular as they add elegance to the day and creates a showstopping centrepiece. Guests will see the intricate details upon closer inspection. Cakes can be decorated in buttercream or fondant icing and adorned with seasonal flowers in shades that enhance the wedding theme. Other ways to add colour is using a marbling effect, metallic accents, wafer paper, statement sugar flowers, stencilling or adding textures – the possibilities are endless. At the beginning of spring, pastels and muted tones like light pink, lilac and dusty blue are always very popular, with brighter and more vibrant colours seen towards the summer months. to ensure none is wasted. Think about your budget throughout the experience and if you’re opting for a complicated design with many details, expect a higher price point. Speak to your baker if you’re concerned about the price; they’ll be able to suggest ways to work around your budget while still capturing your vision. ANGELA HODSON | ANGELA JANE CAKE DESIGN As we approach the wedding season, I’ve seen a variety of trends taking shape. Larger weddings are on the rise, with couples wishing to celebrate with all their family and friends. Whether your wedding is taking place in a timeless country house or elegant barn, the setting and guest list will inspire the cake design. Soft pastel shades such as blush pink and baby blue alongside botanical white and green shades continue to be popular – these colours create elegant and edible centrepieces. Fresh and sugar flowers remain a firm favourite for wedding cakes. As a sugar artist, I love creating variations of roses, peonies and orchids to complement spring or summer weddings. I’ve recently seen a rise in the use of dried flowers, especially with contemporary wafer paper designs. Accents of edible gold and silver leaves continue to be popular, alongside individual tiers featuring delicate stencil details, shimmering sparkle or high-shine finishes. Silk ribbons provide a delicate and soft finish to designs while adding subtle colour to a white wedding cake. Check out: www.angelajanecakedesign.co.uk

KATRINA BELRAIN | SWEET HOMEMADE Summer is fast approaching, and so is the wedding season. Incorporating florals during springtime is a timeless trend that will continue to be popular, and is something I plan to focus on this spring. Adding flora and fauna to my projects accentuates the season and makes perfect centrepieces at events. Preferably, I use muted colours to start with a simplistic base. I then make the design pop with a touch of earth tones and hues that match any colour scheme or theme. Piping delicate buttercream aesthetics onto cakes, usually realistic flowers and leaves, gives a subdued and grand feel to the designs. Techniques and methodologies may change and evolve, but it’s how I construct my confectionery masterpieces that usually leave my clients in awe. Check out: www.instagram.com/sweet_homemadebykb 68

Here come the girls County Wedding Magazines senior editor Melissa Barker shares her wedding planning journey

I

can’t believe that in just a few months time I’ll officially become Mrs Cullen – eek! Dave and I have been engaged since Christmas Day 2020 and are due to get married this July. With all of the uncertantity surrounding COVID-19 restrictions, it’s been quite a stressful journey. However, now that the date is drawing closer I’m finally starting to feel excited. In this issue, read all about my experience going shopping for the bridesmaids’ dresses.

DRESSED TO IMPRESS

a Monday when it was quieter and I’m so glad we did! The consultant was absolutely lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. She made Kelly feel amazing and we didn’t feel pressured at all. With no time constraint, Kelly was able to try on every dress that caught her eye – it was a struggle to choose just one, she looked and felt stunning in them all. She eventually chose the same dress as Olivia, and in my humble (non-biased) opinion, they all look fabulous and I can’t wait to walk down the aisle with my beautiful friends. Overall, shopping together was a nice experience and it was great spending time with the girls, but I’d definitely recommend that fellow brides-to-be start shopping for dresses sooner rather than later – particularly if you have got quite a few bridesmaids! I also can’t stress enough to avoid popular visiting times at your chosen boutiques. It will create a completely different experience and ensured everyone feels relaxed and can enjoy it. Check out the next issue where I’ll be discussing our search for the groomsmen’s outfits and a last-minute videographer.

Choosing who I wanted to be my bridesmaids was one of the easiest decisions I had to make. My sister-in-law, Nolwenn, has been part of the family for a few years now and I really wanted to involve her in our day, so I was pleased when she wanted to be one of my bridesmaids! I also asked my two best friends and fellow County Wedding Magazines editors, Kelly and Olivia, who were over the moon when I asked them (virtually) during one of the many lockdowns. With the easy bit done, we were on to the task of choosing their bridesmaids’ dresses. With conflicting schedules and unpredictable restrictions it was hard to decide on a date that worked for everyone but we were eventually able to book an appointment for the beginning of December 2021. Shopping for their outfits was one of the things I was most excited about when we got

engaged. I love all the girls dearly and really wanted them to feel special and a part of our big day, so making sure that they were comfortable was my number one priority. I wanted them to choose their own style and the only thing I asked was that all the dresses were sage green, which worked out perfectly as the girls all love that colour – it was meant to be! We booked a Saturday appointment and oh my gosh it was busy! The girls had to share a changing room and only managed to try on a handful of dresses before our time was up. What shocked us all was just how long the dresses take to come into the store. Starting our shopping eight months early we all thought we’d have plenty of time to shop around, but we found that all of the gowns wouldn’t be in the store until early May 2022, which would only leave us with two months for alterations – this of course, sent my stress levels through the roof! Despite all of the craziness and the insane amount of people in the boutique, Olivia and Nolwenn both managed to find their dresses on that first visit; Nolwenn opted for a sleeveless A-line gown and Olivia chose a similar style but with floaty off-the-shoulder straps. Kelly and I both felt overwhelmed by the first appointment, and sadly she came away empty handed, so we decided to go back on

Here are some things that we’ve learned during wedding planning.

BRIDE’S DIARY

VENUE

PHOTOGRAPHER

❤ Make sure a registrar or celebrant is available on your wedding day before confirming with the venue. ❤ Find out what is and what isn’t included in the booking price. ❤ Check whether your venue has any sound limiters or a curfew in place. ❤ Ensure the venue has liability insurance in case the worst was to happen. ❤ How will the venue handle poor weather or last-minute changes? ❤ Before booking, check the venue’s COVID-19 policies.

❤ If like me, you’re nervous or unsure in front of the camera book a prewedding shoot – it really does make a difference. ❤ Before booking, decide on what style of photography you like and set a budget. ❤ Lots of photographers don’t have prices stated on their website; find five you like and email them all asking for quotes so that you can compare. ❤ Find out how many images you’ll be receiving and how long your photographer will spend with you on the day. ❤ Most suppliers will require a meal, so factor that into your catering budget and check if they have any dietary requirements. ❤ You’ll be spending a large portion of the day with your photographer, so it’s important you get on well, and they make you feel relaxed.

FLOWERS ❤ Some flowers are seasonal and may not be available at the time of year you’re getting married, so be prepared to discuss this with your florist. ❤ Your supplier will have a wealth of knowledge and will be able to advise you on what blooms will suit your day. ❤ Check your quotes include VAT. ❤ Think carefully about if you’d like real or dried flowers. If you’re unsure it may be worth talking to a few different companies to discuss the pros and cons. ❤ Your florist should suggest ways you can save money, for example, re-using blooms from your ceremony for the reception. ❤ There are so many ways that you can preserve your flowers after the wedding, so it’s worth looking at your options.

WEDDING DRESS ❤ Try on a variety of styles to find what best suits your shape. ❤ Trust your bridal consultant and listen to their recommendations, after all, they’re the experts. ❤ Choose a dress that you feel comfortable in and makes you feel like the best version of yourself. ❤ Wear white or skin-coloured underwear to your appointment. ❤ Start shopping nine to 12 months before the wedding to ensure you have plenty of time to get the gown in-store and alterations to be done. ❤ The shopping process can be daunting, so don’t feel pressured to purchase a dress for the sake of it, when you find the right gown, you’ll know it. 75
