Research
Downtown Galena, IL is a frequent spot for travelers from all over the midwest. Located next to Dubuque, IA, the city is known to be one of the most popular weekend getaway trips in the area. Throughout the very walkable downtown, there are historic colorful shops that offer any product, service, or item that you may need. Galena is known for its history as 85% of the town’s buildings are in the National Historic Register. With beautiful, scenic hills and valleys, Galena is also known for their scenery. All in all, Galena’s community is unlike any else as the downtown is full of local artisans and craftsmen without any of the big department store names.
Joyful Designs aims to bring the scenery, history, and community displayed by Galena and implement it into the customary designs of the store’s greeting cards, stationery, and wedding invites. Joyful Designs caters to the youthful women with bright colors welcoming you inside the store. Offering patrons quality cards and stationery, Joyful Designs provides a high end shopping experience to the community of Galena as well as tourists.

intentionLocated in downtown Galena, Joyful Designs aims to create an atmosphere of tranquility and authencity through its greeting cards, stationery, and custom wedding invitations. Influenced by Galena’s prominent history, the live wood shelves hold a historic presence in the space whereas the colorful wallpaper behind the checkout brings about a joyful and youthful appearance.
