Covenant Family

Our road to EXCELLENCE isn’t always one of perfection. As a company focused on serving others, whose life-blood is comprised of people over equipment or technology, we constantly face the failures inherent in being human. We each proceed in life with a unique purpose, view events with a distinctive lens, and react based on individual emotions. In this journey, who we surround ourselves with matters; why we align our principles matters. My failures have been frequent and not limited to my professional domain. I failed to reach an elite college out of high school. While in flight school for the US Air Force, I failed to get selected for high performance jets. On numerous missions as a pilot, and then as an instructor, I failed to execute numerous life-threatening missions without incident. At Covenant, I have failed to catch errors in financial models, failed to communicate and oversee critical change initiatives, failed to act quickly enough and, at times, failed to focus intently enough. It is important to remember that EXCELLENCE is not achieving perfection, but it is an attitude and deliberate focus on continuous improvement combined with the humility to accept and improve upon your failures. When we experience failures, we can choose to fail forward and let those failures move us toward greater excellence as we learn from our mistakes and make the most of our opportunities. At Covenant, I have been extended grace at every turn. Many others, both those remaining and those who have left, have as well. We share this moment together, aligned by belief in the behaviors portrayed by our Core Values, seeking the best from each other.

I love the challenge and new opportunities to learn and expand my skill set. I love the sense of family at Covenant.” For fun, Andrew enjoys working on his project car—a 1997 BMW M3— and getting it ready for drifting; street photography; exploring local restaurants; or brewing a batch of beer. Andrew recently went on a road trip around Japan, circling the whole main island. His trip revolved around going to the Drift Matsuri at Ebisu Circuit in Fukushima Prefecture.

FOR DEDICATION TO SAFE WORK PRACTICES AND PERSONIFICATION OF COVENANT’S CORE VALUES

Last month John Cavitt, CEO; Kyle Pope, Northern VP of Operations; Chawn Duncun, Wyoming Region Manager; Charley Mylander, Business Development; and Jason Bollinger, Chaplain/Communications Manager, traveled across Wyoming to see first-hand the great work our teams are doing. It was great to visit sites, share some meals, and get to know the #CovenantFamily on the ground there. Wyoming had its first $1 million month in January.

FIRST CLASS PRESORT U.S. POSTAGE PAID HOUSTON, TX PERMIT NO. 600

There is a good chance at some point you’ve heard, “Driving is the most dangerous thing we do.” According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), two out of three motorists will be involved in a vehicle accident during their life that results in an injury to at least one of the parties. Even if we’re the best drivers in the world, we can’t control other motorists on the road and their driving behaviors…but we can control our own. Sticking to the basics—managing your speed, avoiding your phone, keeping your eyes moving—greatly reduces your chances of being in an accident.
