As human beings, it seems that we innately are builders, fighters, growers, inventors, and dreamers. There’s also a contrasting side, as we are also nurturers, relationship builders, jokesters, and caregivers. The combination of these traits in harmony make for an abundant life. Covenant was founded and built on this premise. As you can see in our logo, the Covenant “C” is actually a circle. It is designed to demonstrate iron being forged to complete a full circle. The balance of work and personal life governs each of us and ultimately our company. The circle and story remain incomplete. The question for you is what is the rest of your story?
COVENANT SUNSETS
I for one believe the best days are ahead of us as individuals, and as a result, the company. We must, however, work together this year to build and nurture. Our charge is to grow our business and the relationships around us. Each of us should innovate new ways to succeed yet take time to laugh and enjoy the journey. We should be directed by the goals and dreams we set while taking time to care for those around us. This is our mantle, this is Covenant. 2019 has inherent challenges baked into it at a market, company, and personal level. However, our opportunities to grow as individuals and as a company are so prolific that I believe any obstacle we face will be overcome several-fold because of you and your ability to execute the concepts above. HAPPY NEW YEAR and BEST WISHES as we all attempt to complete our own story - our own circle! With Highest Regard,
JOHN M. Cavitt CEO/President

PAT ZATOPEK Pat is Covenant’s Fleet & DOT Manager. He spends his free time working with his hands either on the Texas coast fishing or in his shop crafting something out of wood or metal. Pat is married to his long time love with five grown children. Most people would be surprised to know that behind his reserved demeanor is a man who owns (and can play) 14 accordions. Prior to Covenant, Pat spent 31 years in law enforcement as a field Sergeant in Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Training where he supervised activities across seven Texas counties. He says,
Family is at the core of what we do at Covenant. We provide energy for families to live life in today’s world. Also, we work around the clock to ensure communities and our team go home safe. Congratulations to all those who had a new bundle of joy this year. Let us know about new arrivals so we can send you a priceless Covenant onesie! covenantcares@ctest.com Calen Baucom and Kayne Frye (Southern Division) and Brian Mulholland (Northern Division) were the first to attend APEX, Covenant’s new 2-day intensive leadership academy. This executive development program is designed to sharpen skills and transition executives to the next level of leadership.

TUNING IN Houston newstalk radio host Michael Berry invited CEO John Cavitt to his studio recently to talk about Covenant, how he got his start as an entrepreneur, his family, and raising children with a rare disease and the strides Blue Cone Monochromacy Families Foundation is making in clinical research.
“My parents taught me the value of religion, family and work (in that order), which has carried me through to where I am today.”
In his role with Covenant, Pat has a wide range of responsibilities overseeing our vehicle fleet, as well as ensuring our drivers and trucks meet State and Federal regulations.

When working in the oil & gas industry, prevention is the strongest form of protection against workplace injuries. Taking extra measures to avoid injury helps to ensure that you and your coworkers go home every day. Always stay aware of your surroundings, watch for pinch points, pay attention to your body (muscle fatigue/strain), and use proper lifting techniques.
