This Fall, we're all about sweater weather and coming together. And, no one does sweater weather quite like O'dee. The two-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, from Australia, is a big dog fashionista. And his 68.5 lbs doesn't stop him! O'dee doesn’t just do fashion, he is fashion! Indeed, not only does O’dee have his own unique style, but he also has his own signature pose! A pose that other pups have started copying. This Fall, we sat down with O’dee, himself, to learn more about his fashion inspirations, and lifestyle. “I came into this world exactly two weeks after my humans lost Duke, another Vizsla of twelve years. I guess my humans have a thing for Vizslas, and I don't blame them! We are the funniest, most charismatic and full of energy hunting dogs you could find. They found Duke as a puppy, and fell in love with him, right away. Apparently, he was a little rascal who turned my humans into a real family. They had twelve beautiful years together, and then I came along and turned their lives upside down.” explains O’dee, in his own words. O'dee is a professional hunting dog who spends most of his days hunting for his ball. But, unlike Duke, O'dee is also an Instagram model, who loves dressing up and taking selfies. It was O’dees sister @hungary.for.merlot who introduced him to the world of Instagram. O'dee’s fashion style developed during the lockdown. It started with simple bandanas, bows from @poochandco_ and hoodies from @byronandco. But, with time, O'dee's style evolved into full-on looks, with matching accessories, and his signature retro-style sunnies, caps and beanies. "My mom saw a dog post a selfie on Instagram, one day, and thought it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen. So, she trained me to pose like that with cheese treats. Now, as soon as I hear the cheese get unwrapped, I jump on the table, ready to pose!".
36
Sweater Weather & Coming Together O’dee also loves wearing comfy PJs, especially as the weather gets cooler. "Wearing PJs is when I found my calling. I wear them to stay cozy, and also to make my humans smile again.” explains O’dee. Today, O’dee is a fashion model sensation, who’s been featured in Vanity Fair magazine, in an @iconpets ad, and on ABC's Breakfast Show organized by Pet Circle. O’dee has also modeled for brands including @snootstyle @fuzzyard @kangaroo @shytiger @misterwoof @neatpetsmemento and @stylishhound. Fall is O'dee’s favorite season. He enjoys the cooler days, running through the fallen leaves, going to the dog park for picnics, and taking his humans on long road trips. He loves exploring new places and staying at pet-friendly motels. And, he loves posing his signature sweater weather looks for delicious dog treats. “My wardrobe is bigger than my mammas! She’s holding on to a lot of my baby clothes hoping to get another Vizsla one day, but daddy and I think I’m enough.” explains O’dee. O'dee, who was named after the cartoon character in Garfield, is also attending dog shows and is enrolled in Rally O agility and obedience training. “I’m hoping to get a title some day!” O’dee says with confidence. And, we are pretty confident in O'dee, too. After all, he is a Vizsla! To learn more about O'dee, find him on Instagram @odeevizsla. To learn more about Vizslas, turn to page 62.

10 FACTS ABOUT O'DEE 01 02 03 04 05
I am a hunting dog and I hunt for balls, all day, every day. Humans say I have a ball addiction, because I play with them, pose for them, and train with them. I don't like water, or blow dryers. I don’t do veggies. Give them to me and I’ll spit them out. I’m a huge show off in public, and I love attention. I also love cuddling with my humans.
06
I like to sleep in on weekends, but if humans are still in bed after 11am, I’ll rip the sheets and jump on them to play ball. If I’m up, they have to be up.
07
After dinner, I love to steal dad’s sock and prance around the house for some daddy time, as he chases me to get it back.
08
I get the zoomies right before bed. I run from room to room sliding on the wooden floors, on the bed, and grabbing anything in my way. My humans think I’m possessed.
09
I used to sleep with my humans but then I got myself a huge crate, because my momma would snore and keep me up most of the night.
10
I’m a mammas boy, for sure. I have her wrapped around my paw. Daddy on the other hand... I’m still working on.

The New Coverdogs App & Why We Created it by Oli Port
"We believe that every dog is a star and deserves to be on the cover of a magazine." THE COVERDOGS APP To say that we love dogs is an understatement. We believe that every dog is a star and deserves to be on the cover of a magazine. These furry creatures make our lives more beautiful, and they make our world a better place. We started Coverdogs because we wanted to celebrate these magical creatures on daily basis. For those who don't know us, Coverdogs is a Media and Publishing company, based in Los Angeles, CA. We have 4 digital dog magazines, and one, monhtly, print publication: the DOGUE magazine (this very magazine) that we are mostly known for. Ever since we launched our Instagram page in 2019, with our digital dog magazine covers, we had people ask us for an App, because they wanted to create their own magazine covers. And, four years later, we finally made it happen, allowing more dog features than ever before! The Coverdogs App allows anyone to turn their pups into stars with just a few clicks. You can use it to create beautiful, professionally looking, and Instagram-friendly dog magazine covers, on 4 of our signature magazines; including DOGUE, which we use for dog fashion and lifestyle, Barker's Bazbark, which is high fashion, Spawrts Illustrated, for dog sports, and National Pawgraphic for dog travel. In addition to these, every month we add at least one more seasonal Magazine Cover or Frame. In October we added "Barkie Times", in November, "Vanity Fur" and in December we added "Better Homes & Gardens DOGHOUSE Christmas Ed". along with several Holiday Card Frames and Templates.
A Subscription based Membership Platform The App allows people to create fun, and unique Instagram content and take their dogs' social media to a whole new level. These funny and entertaining covers could be shared on socials: on monthly, weekly, or daily basis. The app allows you to create an infinite number of covers, without having to pay per edit. The Coverdogs App uses a subscription based model, allowing users to subscribe to the Pawfessional (full) version for weekly, monthly or yearly access.
A Real-Time App, with Real-Time Updates! What's different about our App is that we are constantly updating it, in realtime! We change the colors of our Cover Frames, and Stickers, at least once a month, to match the theme of the month, a holiday, or an event. In addition to that, we are in constant communication with our members and users who give us real-time feedback, allowing us to create real-time updates. We listen to every comment and consider every idea, because we want to provide the best user experience possible. That is also why we choose not collect any data on our app.
What happens on your phone, stays on your phone! Most apps today collect user data, and often without our knowledge. Some do it transparently, and ethically, in order to learn about their user experience, while others do it unethically, collecting as much data as possible, to sell user information for profit. We believe that data collection puts people's privacy at risk; because anytime that data is collected and stored, it has the potential to get hacked. This is why we decided to create an offline-based app, with no data collection, whatsoever, to give people a peace of mind while using our app. We don't collect, use, save or store any of the user data, which means that what happens on your phone stays on your phone. And you don't have to worry about any of your dog photos leaking into the dark web. Our App was created with one goal in mind- FUN! We wanted to give people a new way to get creative with their favorite dog photos. And, what we didn't realize, is that it would also bring Instagram's dog community together in a way that has never been done before. The Coverdogs App is now available on AppStore and Google Play. Try it for free today by visiting cover-dogs.com/app.

Breed Highlight: V sl 62
Versatile Hungarian Hunter The Vizsla is a versatile, red-coated hunting dog, also known as Hungarian Pointer. The breed is easily recognized by his sleek golden-rust coat. For centuries these elegant athletes have been the pride of Hungarian sportsmen, and in America, their popularity only increases with each passing year. The Vizsla stands between 21 to 24 inches at the shoulder and are the picture perfect of a lean, light-footed hunter's companion. The long, silky ears frame a facial expression that is sensitive and loving. As a hunter expected to work closely with humans, Vizslas form a tight bond with their owners and hate to be left alone. Athletes of many talents, Vizslas excel at various sports and activities. Vizslas were bred to be active hunting dogs, and they require both physical and mental exercise. This breed is often described as the "Velcro Vizsla." Most dogs are affectionate, but this medium-size hunting dog is especially attached to his people. His Velcro nature has to do with his past: the Vizsla was developed in Hungary to be both a pointer and retriever who would work close to the hunter, never ranging too far away. That trait is still seen in today's Vizsla, who prefers to be leaning against your leg or serving as a footwarmer.
BREED OVERVIEW GROUP: Sporting HEIGHT: 21 to 24 inches WEIGHT: 44-60 lbs COAT: Short and smooth COLOR: Golden, Red, Rust, Sandy Yellow & Combination LIFE EXPECTANCY: 12 to 14 years
The History of the Hungarian Pointers
Courtesy of AKC Archives
Sometimes known as the Hungarian Pointer, the Vizsla descends from hunting dogs used by the Magyars, who settled Hungary more than a thousand years ago. The Magyar people bolted from the Russian steppes sometime in the mid800s and for 50 years ravaged Western Europe. These brutal marauders rampaged across the continent on horseback, leaving in their wake a wide swath of death and destruction. They ranged as far west as Paris and as far south as the toe of Italy, before settling in what is now Hungary.
The supremacy of Magyar cavalry was predicated on three qualities: speed, agility, and toughness. Accordingly, Magyar warriors carefully bred these qualities into their horses—and their dogs. In this lightning-fast kingdom on horseback, it was either keep up or perish. The Magyars’ nimble red dogs, ancestors of the modern Vizsla, kept up. These dogs were also used by nobles and warlords to hunt game birds and hares. Eventually, the breed was developed to both point and retrieve.
Over centuries, Hungarian nobles and warlords refined these dogs and set the type of the modern Vizsla. The breed became famous as a swift, all-purpose hunting dog who could do just about anything asked. In modern times, that eagerness has won Vizslas generations of American fans. The first Vizsla to come to America, in 1950, was smuggled out of Communist Hungary with the help of a U.S. State Department employee. Fifty years later, a Vizsla named Chartay became the first dog in AKC history to earn championships in five different sports— a quintuple champion. It’s no wonder that the words “versatile” and “Vizsla” so often appear in the same sentence. The Vizsla Club of America was formed in 1954 and the American Kennel Club recognized the breed in 1960. Breeders have worked to standardize the distinctive Vizsla appearance and aristocratic bearing that you see today. The breed is moderately popular, ranking 43rd among the 155 breeds and varieties recognized by the American Kennel Club. Today the Vizsla is a beloved companion who can be found performing a multitude of jobs. Some were even working at Ground Zero after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Images of the Vizsla's past can be found in ancient art. A 10th century etching shows a smooth-coated dog accompanying a Magyar huntsman. A chapter on falconry in a 14th century manuscript depicts a Vizsla-shaped dog.
