WORDS + PHOTOGRAPHY: WOTSO BROOKVALE
As if we needed more encouragement to never leave the Northern Beaches. Now that flexible workspace provider, WOTSO, has arrived in Brookvale, providing you with the perfect option for work-life balance.
For those unfamiliar, WOTSO began operating in 2014. Fast forward to today, and WOTSO boasts nineteen flexible workspaces Australia wide - two of those sites happen to be situated right here on the Northern Beaches.
WOTSO Manly, situated directly across from the beautiful Manly Beach at 19 -21 South Steyne Street, features surfboard racks for members’ use, coastal-inspired murals on the walls and a rooftop perfect for a quick surf check or lunch in the sunshine.
The second Northern Beaches site - 2 Ada Avenue, Brookvale - is the latest addition to the WOTSO family. Offi cially opening this month, WOTSO Brookvale is immediately identifi able by the incredible artwork and décor by local artist, Michael Black.
Exuding a laid-back vibe on-brand for the beachside suburb, WOTSO offers a professional environment for businesses of any size to run their business in a productive and vibrant space.
Businesses come to WOTSO and end up making a home. Many stay for years, all the while continuing to operate under no lock-in contracts which is WOTSO’s signature offer.
Members of WOTSO appreciate the fl exibility and support that allows them to scale or retract at a moment’s notice, aligning its offers in a tailored way to meet the individual business’s needs.
Spend a day at WOTSO, and you will instantly understand what the hype is all about. Greeted by a friendly WOTSO Space Leader, the kitchens are fully stocked with snacks. Dogs are perched happily next to their owners, and the podcast studios are a hum of activity.
Work from your desk is another option. It’s a phone booth (a mini-meeting room of sorts), one of the many break-out areas for a bit of offi ce variety. Whilst WOTSO is fl exible in nature, its presence is here to stay.
We joke that residents of the Northern Beaches never want to leave their suburbs, and with good reason - why would you when you have everything you need?
The addition of a suburban workspace, despite the obvious reason, brings a myriad of benefi ts to the local communities. WOTSO is all about community and believes it to be the core of what the business does.
With every site it opens, WOTSO is conscious of supporting a localised way of living. Through WOTSO attracting businesses, there is an automatic generation of localised spending, collaboration, and growth partnerships.
The Friends of WOTSO initiative takes this one step further. WOTSO partners with local businesses which provide WOTSO members with discounts or other specifi cally tailored benefi ts to enjoy at their discretion – a win-win for all.
Flexible workspaces are undoubtedly the future of work, with the past few years highlighting how valuable no lockin contracts for offi ce space really are.
While it’s great to have the option to Work From Home (WFH), the reality can often be the antithesis to productivity. Suburban workspaces give you the best of both worlds - they get you out of the house and provide you with a professional work environment surrounded by like-minded individuals getting work done. Similarly, they allow you to remain close enough to home to pick the kids up after school, make that early gym class and spend time with the family. Working near to home but not at home allows us that work-life balance we’re all constantly striving for.
WOTSO has remained “industry agnostic” from the outset, providing workspace solutions for companies across a spectrum of industries of all sizes at any stage of their business lifecycle.
Whether you need a desk for a day, something more permanent or a workplace that is surfboard friendly, WOTSO will have a workspace solution for you. •
