We do! 3D scanning and printing has revolutionised our industry, especially with cosmetic treaments. A 3D scanning wand is waved over your teeth and gums, takes thousands of photographs and creates a digital model which can be printed on a 3D printer and used to create veneers, crowns, smile designs, aligners and more with incredible precision.

Your team uses a tailored approach to fi t the needs of each patient. Can you take us through an appointment?

Our first appointment is typically one hour and focused on diagnostics, education and planning. We aim to

empower patients with knowledge and offer them a solution. We cap the price of the first appointment or discount the health fund gap so patients can access 3D scans, X-rays, comprehensive examination, cleaning, fluoride treatment and a treatment plan with minimal or no out-of-pocket expense. This allows ample time for meaningful discussions about treatment options. Our aim is to restore or conserve healthy smiles, and the only way to do this is thoroughly and openly.

Tell us about Digital Smile Design? It’s a tool that enables dentists, patients, consultant specialists and laboratories to work together in creating the patient’s perfect smile. With the use of digital software, I can design and manufacture an aesthetic, functional and fully customised smile based on my patient’s facial features, which can be physically tried before any irreversible procedure is conducted – this is huge for informed consent before starting treatment.

How important is preventative maintenance and regular check-ups? We know the importance of getting our car serviced regularly but a lack of car maintenance won’t effect your health, appearance, pain levels and quality of life as a lack of dental maintenance will. You can own and maintain a Ferrari smile, or let it rust. Teeth need to be maintained for a lifetime. Regular check-ups help to prevent small problems turning into big problems, and they reduce the chance of suffering from dental pain and disease.

What are your top tips to get kids brushing their teeth twice a day? This can be a tough one. Make it an adventurous story where they battle evil sugar bugs or cavity monsters, turn

it into a family activity so it becomes a fun routine, or try an electric toothbrush; some come with their own smartphone apps which engage kids while they brush.

What about anyone who’s worried about visiting the dentist?

The problems associated with dental neglect are worse than you think, but your situation is probably not as bad as you think. Coming in only for emergency treatment is not effective. I’ve seen it become a vicious circle of painful and expensive interactions. Come in when you’re not in pain, and I can guarantee a pleasant, informative, and thorough experience that is less anxiety-provoking than you expect.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work? Yoga, trivia, morning swims at Newport, the gym, listening to an audiobook or having dinner with my beautiful wife, Beth.
