Students arrived safe and sound in France on Monday 20th March after a very smooth sailing. All the snacks were eaten, all the cards games were played and they even had time to practice some French before they disembarked. There was a little bit of nervousness when meeting the families, but they all went off with a big smile on their faces!

On Tuesday, they all met at our partner school in Verson and together with their French friends they took a coach to Mont St Michel, one of France’s many UNESCO world heritage sites They climbed right to the top of the abbey and had a mini guided tour from Patrick, one of the teachers from the host school and who happens to be an expert in the history of the mount. After a picnic lunch, they were lucky enough to have a guided tour of the bay in front of the Mont St Michel from Bertrand a certified guide. They learned all about the movement of the sands and silt and about the history of the salt march lamb Their guide showed us how to make quicksand and how to get yourself out of trouble if stuck in the sand

On Wednesday, students visited the Bayeux tapestry and the old town of Bayeux, as well as the amazing cathedral and France’s smallest house In the evening the students showed their competitive sides by playing many rounds of Lazergame
