A huge well done to Elena C and Jessica C-L who received their Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards! Both students successfully completed their expeditions as well as excelling in their other award sections.
Elena in year 11 volunteered as a young leader at a local Rainbows group, participated in Netball after school sessions for her physical and played the Piano for her skill Jessica in year 13 completed her award by volunteering teaching Geography online, working towards her dance showcase for her physical section as well as working for her acting exam and developing her acting skill set.
Our 2022 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students received their awards! Well done to all students who completed their Bronze practice in a thunderstorm and then their assessed expedition in very hot weather.
We are so proud of everything they have achieved through completion of their award.
Students were busy working on their route plans for their expeditions. Students were assisted by our Duke of Edinburgh Young Leaders, Fina and Olivia
Well done to everyone who worked well to design their route

Huge well done to our amazing Year 8 Netballers for a fantastic performance in the last tournament of the season. We are so proud of Maia U, Rosa D, Grace C, Phoebe H, Sienna W, Molly H, Freya S, Rosalie T, Faith R, Gigi C, Lydia Y and Lola M.
Also a HUGE thank you to two year 9 students Scarlett G & Biba D who have helped with all netball tournaments this year by helping with scoring and timekeeping, without them all the tournaments would not have run as smoothly
Nine secondary schools came together to compete in this tournament which was fantastic to see. The tournament was set out in two pools due to the number of teams entered. Cowes Girls did a fantastic job and managed to win three out of the four games narrowly missing out on winning the pool by one goal against Ryde School who were a tough opposition.
Once both pools had competed each other this moved onto the playoff rounds where winners from each pool played against each other, second place from each pool played against each other and so on
Cowes girls came 2nd in the pool therefore were playing for 3rd or 4th position against The Island Free School. With sunlight disappearing and a battle between each school, Cowes girls again just narrowly missed out on 3rd place by one goal which gave them an excellent 4th place overall
The girls sportsmanship and hard work showed during their games and they represented themselves and the school superbly They cheered all teams and should be super proud of how far they have come
We couldn’t be more proud of them, well done!
