hat a packed issue! As I thought about what I wanted to say in my editorial, I thought about what is the most important thing in all of our lives? Yes, family, our faith, our beliefs are all very important and dear to our lives, but when it comes right down to it, one of the most important things that we all have is our health. Without our health, we can’t enjoy any of the things that we love. So as we are about to embark on 2014, we at CIS Magazine have decided to dedicate the year to fitness! We are going to get in the best shape of our lives in 2014 and we hope you will all join us. As I was interviewing one of my favorite country music artists, Susie McEntire-Eaton, sister of Reba McEntire, I was inspired by her sense of fitness and keeping herself in shape. As she stated in the article, “ I just want to be able to play with the grand kids and run up the stairs with luggage. It feels so good to be able to move fast and do what we want to do because we can. So many my age can’t.” Both her and her husband Mark Eaton, are a great example to all of us. As we venture on this journey of fitness, we hope that you will join us in getting healthy. Even if you don’t have pounds to lose, getting regular exercise will only lengthen our lives. Our motto for 2014 is getting Cowgirl Fit! We want to become not only Cowgirls In Style, but Cowgirls In Shape. Won’t you all join us on our endeavor! Go to www.facebook.com/cowgirlfit and “Like” our page to begin your journey. Until next time.

Country Singles Online is a GRated Singles site that has been around since 1998.

ooking to lasso your Country Sweetheart? Well, look no further. Country Singles Online is a website dedicated to not only finding love, but so that you are not finding love in all the wrong places! Country Singles Online was the first Country Singles website to hit the internet back in the 1990’s. In fact, TIME Magazine contacted them about one of their success stories. CSO says, “We were the first thing like it on the internet and everyone was wanting to know what we were all about.”

16 | Cowgirls In Style | winter 2014

Athough many websites have copied the idea of Country Singles Online, many don’t have the same morals and values that CSO stress that they have. “We are proud to say that we have always kept our website wholesome. It’s something that has been very important to us. There are so many of the other type of sites, that we wanted to keep ours wholesome which seems to be refreshing to those online.” Country Singles Online has also branched out into other network sites, such as Rodeo Singles, Country Music Singles, Christian Country Singles and Horsen’ Around Singles. All of which are G-Rated. If you’re looking for love, who knows? You could find the cowboy of your dreams online. Check them out at: www.CountrySinglesOnline.com

Country Music Artist and Younger Sister to Reba McEntire talks to CIS Magazine CIS Magazine: Where are you from? Susie McEntire Eaton: Atoka, OK CIS: We love your music! When did you start singing and a little about your musical background? SME: We sang in the backseat of the car on road trips to rodeos and in the kitchen. Mama taught us 3 part harmony and sang with us. CIS: What is your favorite style to sing? 20 | Cowgirls In Style | Winter 2014

SME: Country of course, but i love all styles. I probably cant do hard rock and have anyone enjoy it CIS: Also what is your latest single and album? SME: Single: a duet with John Blackwell called “Give” for a Thanksgiving release. Earlier we released “Texan in a Stetson” to radio in Texas. Album: We released “Chase the Wind” in Nov 2012.

Mark sings on four of the songs and did a great job for his first time in the studio. CIS: You are an inspiration to so many, what keeps you motivated and so positive? SME: My new lease on life due to my marriage to Mark. I see everything differently. Amazingly, when the main relationships are right everything merges into a better spot. Beyond that, I love life. I wake up excited and smiling which is new to me, but so refreshing to not always be trying to counter or second guess. My mind is freer that it has been since I was a kid. I am inspired so I guess it rubs off on others. That’s all I can figure. I have to say my faith gives me hope. Without hope one is dead already. With hope you can do things. Jesus gives me hope. CIS: Tell us about your husband Mark Eaton? SME: He has been called a speaker, adventurer, fitness expert and theologian. Trust me, he is competent in each of those areas. I have never been around anyone like him. He comes from the N.W. so we are very different. I love it. He provides an emotional lightness and safeness that I feel like I can be myself without fear. He is steady, predictable and takes life head on with a happy intensity and focus. We are a good team. CIS: How and when did you meet? SME: At a casual and surprise meeting at Canon Beach, OR. In June of 2008. We had a slow developing friendship that was very respectful and gradual until he suddenly moved toward me very clearly and confidently. About 2 months later we were married after a 13 day engagement. What a ride! CIS: You are so fit, tell us what your daily workout schedule might be? Have you always worked out? SME: Mark is a level 2 Crossfit trainer. There are not many of those around so he knows how to program our workouts and what I need to focus on. I just want to be able to play with the grand kids and run up the stairs with luggage. It feels so good to be able to move fast and do what we want to do because we can. So many my age can’t. Some of my best experiences in life have been these last four years, in part, due to fitness. In fact, we trekked in Nepal for 9 days this last April. 50 Miles at 13,500 and living in tea houses far beyond any roads. In my craziest dreams, I never thought I could, much less would do that. It was awesome! We have a very workable home gym in our garage and we use it. On the road we use kettle bells that we can take in our car or we use other Crossfit gyms. They love to see Mark show up and often use him to coach a session for them. I thought I was working out before I met mark. Now I think I was mostly pretending to workout and taking way to much time. our workouts are short and intense. CIS: Tips you might give to a person who wants to get into a fitness routine and get into shape? SME: My advice is start moving. Then ramp it up once a week. Do it faster the next week or add some weight. Time yourself. Get serious.

CIS: You are the younger sister of Reba McEntire, what type of a relationship do you have? SME: She is the closest to me because we are so close in age and grew up doing much of the same things at the same times. We talk a couple of times a month. We text or email a few times a week. We just went on a family vacation for a full week together in Canada. CIS: Do you see each other often? SME: 3 or 4 times a year. Because we are so close in age and grew up doing much of the same things at the same times. We talk a couple of times a month. We text or email a few times a week. We just went on a family vacation for a full week together in canda. CIS: What plans do you have coming up this year not only in music, but in your life? SME: Staying home more and working smarter instead of being on the road constantly. I have grandkids now and need to be around for them. We want to do more state and county fairs and I want to help mark finish his masters in school. And staying fit. CIS: You always look so fashionable, who are your favorite brands and styles? SME: When it comes to western wear I love Stetson and Roper which has such a full line of great style. They keep it fresh and new every year. Cowgirl Tuff has very cool jeans I wear so much and love a lot. Of course, I am partial to my sisters line, Reba Wear, which sometimes shows up in a box from Reba Photos above were taken by Mark Eaton. Top left was taken in Cascade Pass, Washington state 2013. Top right photo was taken at the Eaton’s home gym.

Spirit of a Cowgirl

By Genevieve Marie

Q&A with Montana Cowgirl and Entrepreneur, Darcy Ostermiller

Meet the beautiful and talented Darcy Ostermiller: Cowgirl Entrepreneur, Wife, and Mother of Two Cowgirls In Style Magazine visited with Darcy and her family to learn more about Rodeo Envy and the woman behind it all. What

was

your

inspiration

for

starting

Rodeo

Envy?

My love of cowgirl fashion and my desire to stay at home to take care of my two beautiful daughters. I grew up on a cattle ranch in northeast Montana and have barrel raced and team roped for many years of my life. My daughters and I love horses and like to ride in style! What was it like being raised on a ranch in Montana? Growing up on a cattle ranch was great. Of course, back then, I probably didn’t appreciate the valuable lessons I was learning, but I do now. I loved the days we had to ride horses to round up or move cattle. There is something about riding your horse across the pasture at a gallop, trying to chase down some cows that are out of place. It makes my adrenaline rise just thinking about it! That was always my favorite thing about barrel racing and team roping too. The speed of it all – having trust in your horse, and having a blast being the best you could be, together! 34 | Cowgirls In Style | Winter 2014

How did this influence your love of cowgirl fashion? When I grew up we didn’t have so many options with what we wore. I remember wearing men’s Wrangler’s because I liked the lower rise in the men’s jeans and a white Hanes V-neck t-shirt because I didn’t want to wear a collared button up shirt. These days, I love the variety of options there are. With boots alone there are so many different styles, colors, and inlay designs. Cowboy hats now have a variety of designs as well and some have rhinestones. There are so many styles of jeans! The thing about cowgirl fashion these days is that everyone can wear it. You see it everywhere – even if it’s just a belt, or jeans with sparkle, or a cadet cap with bling. Do your daughters help you with Rodeo Envy? Yes! They enjoy being a part of the business. I ask for their input on color combinations and for the jewelry. They love to help me package orders going out. They get excited when I tell them we have an order! I often find them in my office placing jewels on conchos or stringing their own necklaces. They recently designed and created flower headbands for little girls. They designed them all and I just did the work. It was fun and they can’t wait to sell them at our booth at the Wrangler Team Roping Championship in Billings, MT. The motto of Rodeo Envy is B Different B Unique, B Envied. What does this mean to you? When people visit my site I want them to find clothing and accessories that are unique and fun. People take notice of what people wear. It’s human nature to do so. Individuality is what distinguishes you from everyone else. You can ask yourself each day: Do I want to look like everyone else or do I want to express my own style? I say don’t be afraid to rock your own look. Be a leader and allow yourself the opportunity to B Envied! You hold the power to help change the world. You just have to believe in yourself and it starts with expressing your individuality. Once you can be yourself, you can inspire others. God designed us to be different, but united. We should celebrate our differences and learn what each one of us has to offer. Tell us about your handmade line of cowgirl jewelry Rodeo Rocks. My husband Justin and I put a lot of love and care into each piece we make. The leather is hand cut, hand stained, and hand distressed by us. Necklaces are hand strung and conchos are decorated by us. Each chunky necklace is one-of-a-kind. I even make the leather cords used for concho necklaces without beads. I have started to wholesale our line of jewelry and have filled orders for different boutiques around the U.S. All of our jewelry is and will always be proudly handmade in Montana. We have a Christmas special this season too. You can purchase a chunky cowgirl necklace and leather cuff for $55 (includes shipping). Check out the Rodeo Rocks page of our website. We can also custom make a set with the colors and concho you want. Email sales@rodeoenvy.com for all custom orders.

You have a men’s line as well! Yes, we have our own Urban Western Wear line of Rodeo Envy shirts and caps for men. Justin designs the line. He will only sell something that he will wear himself and comfort is definitely the focus. We have a variety of long sleeve comfort soft thermal shirts for men available in different colors and styles. What are some of your favorite looks and pieces for the fall/winter seasons? My favorite look for the fall are skinny jeans or leggings worn inside your favorite cowboy boots paired with “Peekaboo Lace for Boots” that we have in a variety of colors. They were very popular this summer and are a super cute way to add a pop of color to your look. I also like to wear the new wide style belts over my long sweaters, long sleeve burnout shirts, and dresses. I love all the fringe accessories too. Colors deepen for fall and winter season so you will see that in my Rodeo Rocks jewelry as well. What’s the best way for CIS reader’s to connect with Rodeo Envy?

Chenae Shiner, Miss Rodeo America 2013 CIS Magazine: Where are you from? Chenae Shiner: I'm from the small town of Roosevelt, UT. My family raises Black Angus cattle there and has been in the cattle business for generations. I grew up out in the country where even the nearest mall is a two hour drive. But it was great and I wouldn't trade it for anything. My brother and I loved having all the open space to run and play, it's exactly the kind of lifestyle i'd want for my own family one day. CIS: Have you ridden horses all of your life? CS: Growing up in the ranching and country lifestyle I ended up horseback before I was walking. But even then, I was actually pretty scared of horses as a little girl. My parents both ride and competed in rodeo, so I'm pretty sure there for a while, they were worried there had been a mix up with babies at the hospital. In my family, everyone rides though, so it wasn't long before I caught the addiction and now I can't ever imagine my life without horses in it. CIS: How old were you when you entered your first rodeo pageant? CS: I was eight years old. I'd already been competing in barrel racing and youth rodeos for a couple years, then after watching my aunt compete in a local queen contest, I decided it was something I wanted to try as well. My parents were pretty surprised because I was very shy, but it all worked out in the end and has been the greatest blessing in my life. CIS: What do you think is the hardest part of the competition? CS:: Definitely having to be cut off from your family during the competition. Once you check-in at the MRA pageant you

turn in your cell phones and say good-bye to everyone for a week. It becomes complete lock down! Its hard to not be able to talk to them and get reassurance about how everything is going. You don't realize how much you rely on your family until you have to go through a competition without them. CIS: What has the past year been like? What is your favorite part of being the reigning MRA? Any experiences you would like to relate? CS: This past year has been everything I’d ever dreamt possible and so much more! I feel like I've been living in a dream life this past year. I've love being able to travel across the country and meet so many amazing people at every mile of the journey. I think my favorite though is the look that comes over a kids face when they see Miss Rodeo America, its something that never gets old. I remember being a young girl and looking up to Miss Rodeo America, I idolized them all! I hope I can be that great role model to young girls today that the past Miss Rodeo America's were to me. CIS: What is your favorite thing to do when you come home from a busy week? CS: See my dog, Tucker, and sleep! I also use the time to catch up on all my favorite tv shows that i've missed while being on the road. When your traveling its usually full of early morning, busy days, and late nights. So when i'm home I like to crash out and relax as much as possible. CIS: What is your favorite style of clothing to wear? Are you more of a jeans/t-shirt type of girl or dress up? CS: You can usually catch me in both styles but I definitely have a dominate girly girl side that loves dressing up, shopping, and wearing as much jewelry as I can pile on. winter 2014 | www.CowgirlsInStyle.com

CIS: What are you plans after your reign is over? CS: I received nearly 22,000 in scholarships from winning Miss Rodeo America so i’ll be going back to school to put that to good use. I’m also already getting geared back up to hit the road and run barrels again. I was going for WPRA rookie of the year before I was crowned Miss Rodeo Utah but I’m now hoping to go back and qualify for the circuit finals next year. CIS: What advice would you give girls who are wanting to get involved in rodeo pageantry? CS: Never give up! Even if you don’t walk away from a pageant with the crown, you always walk away learning something. I was first runner up at the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant two years in a row before I finally won the title. After my second year of competing I wasn’t going to try out again. I thought I was done and just wanted to go run barrels. It just so happened around the time applications were due for the MRU contest my barrel horse got hurt and needed some time off to heal. I still remember my parents sitting me down and telling me they really thought I needed to give it one more year, that I’d come this far, and it’d be a shame to walk away now. I’m so glad they did that and believed in me enough to send me back. Now it’s lead me to a life I could of only dreamed about. So through my experience I can say, never give up, if you want it and you are persistent in your dream; it will happen for you!

Carly and Brownie Photo by Robin Clark

arly Lemmons, 21 of Oakdale, CA learned how to barrel race on an old rope horse named Brownie when she was 10. Her step dad’s retired horse still had a lot of heart and they became inseparable even winning checks in local jackpots. The bond between the two of them has always been strong. After suffering a choke on an alfalfa cube in early October his prognosis was not good and in this photo Carly thought she was saying good-bye. Happily it wasn’t good bye and our family is doing everything possible to nurse him back to good health~

You’re in our thoughts and prayers Carly and Brownie! ~CIS Magazine

Horse Training 101 By Dana Hokana

Develop a Solid Foundation While Starting Your Colt Part 1 I want to give you some tips that will help you develop a horse that has a good foundation and one that likes his job. Starting your horse correctly and thoughtfully, and making his beginning training a positive experience will make a better finished horse down the road. Before I start my colts, I do a lot of ground work with them. Developing a welltrained, good minded horse is valuable. There are so many horses, show horses and trail riding horses alike that have attitude problems and behavior problems. Many of these horses could have turned out differently if someone would have taken that extra time to train and layer a really good foundation onto their horse. I pay a lot of attention to the horse’s response to me, and if I feel I am in a problem area with my horse, I will spend extra time in that particular area until I get my horse to accept the new concept I am teaching him. Then, when I go to the next level, I am confident that I’ve successfully layered the step I have been working on and I am ready to teach and develop new information with my horse. I want to impart to you a very important concept. All horses don’t learn the same way. What may feel like yelling to one horse may be like whispering to another horse. Be mindful and sensitive to your horse’s individual personality. Study your horse and decide what his person60 | Cowgirls In Style | winter 2014

ality is like. Some horses need to be trained with a softer touch than others. Also, I believe there are two important levels of learning that all horses go through. One is to acquire knowledge of a concept. Secondly, they acquire acceptance of it. This is why it is so important to know your horse and be mindful about how you ride and train him. To have that great willing partner we all want, you have to have both. An example of this might be that you have taught a horse to move over off your leg, but he hates the pressure and doesn’t move over willingly. Spend the extra time and develop the knowledge as well as the acceptance to each new training concept he has learned. In my opinion, you can teach a horse to want to try for you and be your team member, or you can teach him to hate his job and be afraid of your cues. Of course, you have some variances with the horse’s own personality, style and mind, but with the mindset that I am describing to ride with, you will definitely make a better horse! Before we put the first ride on our young horses, we do a lot of ground work. I want my horses to be comfortable with people and handling before we add the saddle and start riding them. We spend time brushing and rubbing the horse all over, making it a positive experience, teaching our horse that people are okay. We then teach them to lunge and tie, taking the extra time needed to develop all handling into a positive experience. After we teach them to lunge and tie, we sack them out. Sacking out is sometimes frightening at first, but we do it gently and stay with it until the horse is not bothered. I will take an empty feed sack and rub it all over my horse, slapping it gently on the legs and body. It makes noise, but doesn’t hurt them. If he jumps sideways, I will just walk with him, continuing to rub him with it until he is okay with it. I will then rub the saddle pad all over him. Also, I let him smell everything when I first approach him with the object. I will then set the saddle pad on and off his back. Next, I will take the saddle, walk up to him with it, and set it on and off his back. I will also work from both sides of his body. Once he is okay with the saddle on his back, I will slowly cinch up the saddle. If possible, have another handler hold his head while you tighten the cinch. Some horses will jump around or buck when they feel this pressure, so be cautious and be prepared.

I do most of my work in a round corral so I will lunge my horse after the cinch is secure. Let him walk and trot until he is accustomed to the feel. Often, when they break into a lope, they buck a little. Once they get use to this, they relax and quit. Frequently, I just saddle and lunge for a couple of days until it is no big deal. I’ll leave the horse tied out with the saddle for a while after his work out. Talk to your horse while you are working with him. The sound of your voice will relax him. Horses respond to sounds, especially confident, soothing words! I like to drive my young horse before I get on him for the first time. I drive most horses in a halter or a side pull. This is less pressure on him than driving him in a snaffle and I can save the integrity of his mouth. Sometimes when you are first driving a colt, he may get a little upset or take off and I don’t want to pull that hard on his mouth. I save his mouth by using a side pull. The drive lines moving around the horses help to desensitize him to the feel of things rubbing or slapping around him. If you have an especially goosey or jumpy colt, taking the extra time to get him relaxed and accepting of the drive lines will pay off in the long run. When you go to put the first ride on him, he will be more relaxed with new things and pressure. Another important benefit of driving is that you can practice and improve your stopping and turning. He can feel the pressure on his face and learn to give to the pressure. You can introduce him to the concept of flexing at the poll. You can practice using your hand lightly and softly to ask him to tip his nose one way or the other while going forward. Some horses that are light and sensitive in the face can even learn to bridle their head and flex at the poll while being driven. Your young horse can learn a lot with the drive lines. He can learn to go forward, stop, turn, follow his nose, flex at the poll, and begin collection. I will drive my horse for a few days or a few weeks. I do not go on to the next stage of training until I am satisfied that he has mastered and accepted the concept of driving. When my horse is quiet and obedient and accepting to being driven, then I will go for my first ride. A word of warning as you first introduce driving to your horse… Take your time and be extremely cautious as you work the drive lines around his hindquarters. Stay out of kicking distance and keep your lines from wrapping around your legs. Also, when I am driving or lunging, I will teach my horse to go forward with a cluck or kiss cue. Then, when I am riding him, he understands that cue. There are many different ways to get on a horse for the first time. The way I like to do it is slow and easy. It may take a little extra time, but I feel it is worth it. As with all the training I do, I want to build positive experiences for my horse. His life ahead of him has work which doesn’t have to be a negative experience. He can truly like his job. So, like all his new experiences, help him to be relaxed and accepting of his new rider. I get on him for the first time in the round corral and I have someone hold his head. I make sure he is accepting and quiet about the people around him and the tack on his back. I will put weight in the stirrups and lean up over his back (don’t put your foot too deep or far into your stirrup so if you have to, you can pull it back out easily). I will lean up over his back from both sides. I will

also take the reins and pull back on them and make sure he understands the “whoa” cue. I will lean up over his back, petting him on his hips, sides, and neck, talking to him and relaxing him. If he is extremely jumpy I may not even get on that day. I take my time and keep him relaxed. Once I feel he doesn’t care about me stepping up into the stirrup, putting weight on him, and moving around him, I will swing my leg over him and get up on his back. I continue to talk to him and I will move my body around the saddle. It is better to have him feel that movement at a standstill than be walking along and feel me move and get scared. I let him know to expect a lot of movement and noise. I also pull his nose from side to side so that he can see me and see my hands moving around. I rub my legs on his sides. I will have the person on the ground lead me around. I will pull back on the reins to stop the horse and turn the horse. I will nudge him forward with my legs and clucking. I will stop and go many times. After the horse is relaxed I will have the person on the ground unsnap the lead rope and I will continue on without the ground person. The ground person gives the horse some added confidence. Make sure that your horse learns to go forward by your cues and doesn’t just listen to the ground person. I have had a few horses become dependent on the ground person rather than listen to the rider. You as the rider are the director; the ground person is just an aid or support. How fast you go with your horse from here depends entirely upon you and your horse. There are some horses that will trot and lope the first day. Others we will have the ground person for several days. When the horse is relaxed with the rider on his back, allows the rider to direct him forward with clucking and leg cues, can stop and stand, walk forward, and turn willingly, then we will go on to trotting and loping. This could take a day or two or it could take weeks. I use a gentle approach designed to build confidence and make a long term horse suitable for any discipline. Join us next month for Part 2, and will continue to learn how to develop a good foundation on your young horse.

This article is in two parts. Watch for the conclusion in our next issue.

The Western Wanderer Wandering the Arizona Strip Written By: Cort Flynn

Probably the most remote place in US, it is an area north of the Grand Canyon and south of the Utah border.

S

ome of my first wanderings were sparked by a professor in my freshman year of college, when I was 18 years old. One day he got up and said that we ought not waste our lives sitting around on the weekends when there was a great big beautiful world to discover. So my roommate and I, who happened to be in the same class, went up after class and asked him where we should go. He gave us a list of great adventures that we proceeded to travel to the rest of the year

68 | Cowgirls In Style | winter 2014

house which is usually open and full of antiques and pictures of the students that once studied there. One of the best was the Arizona Strip. Probably the most remote place in US, it is an area north of the Grand Canyon and south of the Utah border. We headed out in my roommate’s 1963 Mercury Meteor to one of the most rugged and beautiful places on earth--with no people and and one of the coldest nights I have lived through. Recently I decided to retrace my steps. I picked up my oldest son Casey who lives in St. George and we headed out. You headed straight south on River Road in St. George . When the pavement ends you have crossed onto the Arizona Strip. One hundred or so miles later you will come to a remote section of the Grand Canyon. Unlike the touristy areas, you will stand on the edge and look straight down 3000 feet to the Colorado River. Spectacular! Your trip in between will also be filled with lots of fun. First there is the little old mostly-ghost town of Mt. Trumble. Stop at the restored old school house which is usually open and full of antiques and pictures of the students that once studied there. You will pass through some fairly high mountain areas up in the ponderosa pines and if you have time you might want to hike the trail to the summit of Mt. Trumble, the mountain. A short side trip to some Indian petroglyphs is also an option. We stopped at an old ranch where a family was having their annual family reunion, and had traveled from all over the country. It was the old great grandparent homestead and the family had held onto it for this very reason. During our travels we came across a 22 year old French tourist walking along the road. His car had broken down, but he was still trying to get to the canyon. We gave him a ride to the overlook and dropped him off and he said he didn’t want a ride back. I hope he made it out OK. We took a different road out and ended up in Kanab, Utah for dinner. If you go, take lots of water, food and snacks...just in case! Happy Wanderings.

The Cowgirls

Cowgirls Getaway Left to Right: Susan and Decanie

Cali to NYC What We Did...

W

hat a few weeks we had, from New York City to San Diego, CA! We had the opportunity to be in NYC for Fashion Week. A week of fashions and styles that are envied all over the world. We actually had to pinch ourselves to realize it was not a dream. But a favorite site was “Macey’s Department store on 34th street. Touring NYC on a double decker bus, to viewing the wonderful city from the top of the Empire State building. New York City was quite the memory and we enjoyed every minute. We were even lucky enough to see a horse! Yes, a horse drawn carriage traveling along the outskirts of Central Park. All the hustle and bustle of the largest city in the nation and we were able to see a horse drawn carriage. Fast forward New York City to San Diego, CA. Even though we have been to San Diego numerous times, we never get tired of the fun that you will find there. From the beach, to the seafood, to a good ole’ America’s favorite pass time of baseball to the wonderful,. sunny weather. You can’t beat it.

Location: San Diego, CA and NYC, NY The Getaway:Traveling from NYC, NY to

San Diego, CA within a matter of a week. What We Learned: We loved all of the sites and people that we met. But when it comes right down to it, we’re glad we’re from a small town and country born and bred!

Favorite Site? “We loved it all, but the 9/11 Site, Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty were awesome!

We loved flying SkyWest! The best connecting flight ever!
