Das Hotel verfügt heute über 138 Zimmer, darunter 59 Suiten. Durch behutsame Erweiterungen und Renovierungen präsentiert sich das Imperial als architektonisches Juwel. Die der Ringstraße zugewandte, reich verzierte Hauptfront des frei stehenden Gebäudekomplexes hat heute sechs Stockwerke und 14 Fensterachsen.

Today, the hotel boasts 138 hotel rooms, including 59 suites. As a result of careful additions and renovations, the Hotel Imperial presents itself as an architectural gem. Facing the Ringstraße, the richly decorated main front of the freestanding building complex has six floors and 14 window axes.

PALAIS WÜRTTEMBERG

Philipp von Württemberg beauftragt den Münchner Architekten Arnold Zenetti, an der Ringstraße einen Palast zu bauen, den er 1872 an Horace Ritter von Landau verkauft.

K. U. K. HOFLIEFERANT

Das Hotel Imperial erhielt den ehrenwerten Titel „k. u. k. Hoflieferant“ für seine Weinhandlung.

PURVEYOR TO THE IMPERIAL AND ROYAL COURT

The Imperial was allowed to carry the title of a “purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court” for its operations in the trade of wines.

ALLIIERTE BESATZUNG

Die Gästezimmer wurden in Büros umgewandelt. Nach Abschluss des Staatsvertrages wurde das ehemalige Palais der Republik Österreich übergeben. Es hatte nur wenig gelitten, und man entschloss sich zu einer Generalsanierung.

ALLIED OCCUPATION

The guest rooms were converted into offices. After the conclusion of the State Treaty, ownership of the former palace was transferred to the Republic of Austria.

It was only lightly damaged and a general refurbishment was decided upon.

NEUE REZEPTIONSHALLE

1994 entstand unter Maurizio Papiri ein neuer Eingangsbereich, wobei die Decke auf ihre ursprüngliche Höhe gebracht wurde. Die Sanierung samt neuer Dachkonstruktion erfolgte nach dem historischen Vorbild von 1866.

NEW RECEPTION HALL

In 1994, a new entrance area was built under Maurizio Papiri, whereby the ceiling was raised to its original height. The renovation, including a new roof construction, was carried out according to the historical model of 1866.

NEUE SUITEN

Am Dachboden entstanden Maisonette-Suiten mit Balkonen und Blick über den Musikverein zur Karlskirche.

NEW SUITES

Maisonette Suites with balconies and a view over the Musikverein to the Karlskirche were added in the attic.

GENERALSANIERUNG DES ERDGESCHOSSES

Das gesamte Erdgeschoß, das die Rezeptionshalle, das Restaurant OPUS, die Imperial Bar, das Café Imperial Wien und die Konferenzräumlichkeiten umfasst, wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert.

GENERAL RENOVATION OF THE GROUND FLOOR

The entire ground floor, which includes the reception hall, the OPUS Restaurant, the Imperial Bar, the Café Imperial Wien and the banquet rooms, was renovated with great attention to detail.

Die 50 Luxus-Räumlichkeiten im 4. und 5. Stockwerk mit einzigartigem Blick auf die zahlreichen Highlights der Stadt wurden unter Wahrung des imperialen Einrichtungsstils modern adaptiert sowie mit der neuesten Technologie aufgerüstet.

Dabei wurde großer Wert auf Nachhaltigkeit gelegt.

ARTIST FLOORS MODERNIZED

The 50 luxury rooms on the 4th and 5th floors, featuring unique views of numerous city sites, were adapted in a contemporary manner while maintaining the imperial interior style and upgraded with the latest technology. Great importance was attached to sustainability.

REVITALISIERUNG DER BELETAGE

Die Zimmer und Suiten werden mit Bezügen, Vorhängen und Seidenbespannungen nach historischen Vorlagen ausgestattet und die antiken Möbel restauriert.

REVITALIZATION OF THE BELETAGE

The rooms and suites were fitted with upholstery, curtains and silk coverings according to historical concepts and the antique furniture was restored.

Eigent Merwechsel

Der Geschäftsmann Khalaf Ahmad al Habtoor erwirbt die Hotelikone. Es bleibt weiterhin ein Hotel der Marke „The Luxury Collection“ und wird von Marriott International betrieben.

CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP

Businessman Khalaf Ahmad al Habtoor acquires the hotel icon. It remains a hotel of “The Luxury Collection” brand and is operated by Marriott International.

HAUPTFASSADE RESTAURIERT

Das Schönbrunner Gelb wich elegantem Weiß, und die eindrucksvollen Statuen wurden prachtvoll restauriert. Ein Hirschhaupt des Tympanons konnte restauriert werden, das zweite wurde aus Bihać-Kalkstein in nur vier Wochen neu gemeißelt.

MAIN FAÇADE RESTORED

Schönbrunn yellow gave way to elegant white, and the impressive statues were magnificently restored. One stag’s head of the hotel’s tympanum could be restored, and the second one was sculpted from scratch from Bihać limestone in just four weeks.
