Events Calendar on Website

Introduction

The Events Calendar is one of the features of the CPUT website that helps the various campuses stay abreast of activities happening at the University.

Objective

• To inform and create awareness to the campus community of activities happening on the various campuses

• To establish a feeling of community among staff members.

Target Audience

• CPUT website visitors

• Alumni

How it works

• All users will have viewing status of the Events Calendar on a daily basis.

• The dedicated key persons in the MCD department will update the Events Calendar on a regular basis.

• Users will be able to access the Events Calendar on the CPUT website by clicking on the specific event and view detailed information regarding the event, eg contact person, contact number, event, date, time and venue.

Procedure

• The Marketing & Communications Department / Web Editor is responsible for publishing activities on the Events Calendar

• An Events form is available on the website for staff and students to download.

• The form requires staff/students to supply relevant information about the event/activity

• This form must be emailed to CHRISTIANSC@cput.ac.za and events@cput.ac.za

• As soon as the Marketing & Communications Department / Web Editor receives the form, the event with completed details will be published on the CPUT website.

• Departments will be requested via Newsflash to submit their events.

• The Events form is the only template that will be accepted for submission by the Marketing & Communications Department

• Only official activities happening at CPUT venues can be placed on the Events Calendar.

• The Marketing & Communications Department will not be responsible for incorrect information placed on the Events Calendar

• The Communications Unit will not be responsible to edit information submitted

• It is requested that the information provided, upon receiving confirmation to check the event information once published and provide any possible changes so that the Web Editor can amend the provided information
