2022 THE ACADEMIC PRE-REGISTRATION CHECKLIST

Academic pre-registration checklist 1) Always have the following documentation ready, and submit electronically, on request: a) Letter of acceptance (first-year and first-time registering students only) – available from www.cput.ac.za/study/track; b) Proof of payments (or proof of sponsorship letter); c) Proof of school leaving results/ Grade 12 equivalence such as National Senior Certificate (NSC); National Certificate (Vocational) (NCV); international results; d) Students registering for the first time and who have obtained their NCV will be requested by the respective faculties to submit prior to final evaluation; and e) Any other qualifications obtained. 2) First-year registering students who have obtained their NSC in 2021: a) Final evaluation (screening) of the 2021 NSC results will be conducted from Thursday, 27 January to Friday, 4 February 2022. Any NSC results obtained will be verified against the official results as published by the Department of Basic Education and Training. b) Acceptance will be confirmed via an automated sms to your cell phone number provided during your application. c) Also frequently track your acceptance status via the link: http://www.cput.ac.za/study/track. This site shows the status immediately, and any changes made, so gives the latest information. d) Students who wrote their final Grade 12 exams in 2019 (or earlier), and have final acceptance, can register from as early as Monday, 31 January to Friday, 18 February 2022. e) Secure your place by registering immediately after final acceptance or within 48 hours from receipt of the sms, as spaces in the programmes fill up quickly. Should you not do so, the place may be offered to another student. 3) Students will be only able to register if the status reflects: “ACCEPTED/ ACCEPTED ON FINAL RESULTS” You will not be able to register if your status reflects other statuses such as “Waiting List”, “Rejected”, “Course Full”, “Provisional Acceptance” or any “Incomplete” related statuses. 4) Also take note of any procedures listed in letters that may have been forwarded to you from faculties.
