Dear Parents,
This week we welcomed our Sixth Form Prefect, Elizabeth Menzies, and her team who led our Monday assembly informing Prep girls all about the significant Holydays of Chinese New Year, Ramadan and Passover; during the remainder of Monday our LAMDA examinations were held in the Senior School Library – well done to all girls (even one coming in from her sick bed!) who completed the assessed pieces.
On Tuesday, the ever-effervescent Ruth Jampel returned to school for our annual Judaism workshop, and each year got to experience hands-on journeys through significant aspects of the culture and religion (see Mrs Canning’s report later).
On Wednesday Year 3 travelled back to ancient Roman Britain on their trip to Fishbourne Palace, surviving not only Mr Tindall’s driving but also his lunchtime hill-rolling challenge too.
We had much to celebrate in our end of week assembly including a first place win for Isabella in Year 6 in the 800m, taking St Teresa’s Prep School to another championship event this term!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, especially if you are attending the Regency Ball.
And to end this week, quotes from the three cultures we have explored during assemblies and workshops: “Teachers can open the door, but you must enter it yourself.” Chinese Proverb
“I will be patient, until even patience tires of my patience.” Imam Ali
“Do not be wise in words – be wise in deeds.” Jewish Proverb
Best Wishes,
Gareth Tindall
WATCH OUT FOR TICKS!
Please be mindful that we are in tick season and would like to remind the girls to check themselves regularly, particularly after sitting or walking through grassy areas. Ticks can carry Lymes disease. Please see this leaflet for more information: Tick awareness

Yr. 3 FishbourneTrip
Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Fishbourne Palace this week. They took part in a workshop which allowed them to experience life as a Roman. This included: using a stylus to draw onto a wax tablet; writing their name in Latin into papyrus paper; and spinning raw wool into thread. Favourite moments also included dressing up as royal children or slaves. It was amazing to hear that one full-time role was to simply hold a toga in place, and not let it slip off the wealthy owner's shoulder! The girls then had the opportunity to see the mosaics and palace remains. Highlights were the fabulous portrayal of Cupid on a dolphin and seeing the structure of a hypocaust. It was a fabulous trip!

Judaism Workshop
On Tuesday, we welcomed Ruth Jampel from Judaism in Schools for a whole school assembly and year group workshops as part of our Other Faiths project in Religious Education about Judaism. We found out a huge amount about Jewish beliefs, worship and day-to-day life. Year 3 investigated what you would find inside a Synagogue, Year 4 developed their understanding of the Jewish scriptures particularly the Torah; Year 5 learnt about the Exodus story and how it is celebrated at Pesach (Passover); and Year 6 reflected on the Jewish new year celebrated at Rosh Hashanah. It was wonderful for the girls to have this first hand experience and to work with real artefacts. We hope you enjoy these images of the day.

Year 4 Potions
Year 4 have enjoyed learning about different medicines and lotions and potions as part of their 'Potions' topic. They designed and then created potions with a range of purposes with wild and wonderful results. The variety was enormous, including invisibility, super speed, shrinking potion, flight, under-water breathing, super springy shoes and even a cure for baldness! Homework then involved making their own concoctions and there was a lot of sparkle and shimmer and even some gingerbread men! But beware, follow the instructions carefully because if you take too much or too little, who knows what might happen to you!

Year 3 PSHE Dental Health Talk
Within their PSHE lesson, Year 3 listened to Dr Haselden, our very own dentist who also works at St Teresa’s, to hear about teeth hygiene. The girls considered factors such as diet, how frequently it is best to eat, as well as how to brush your teeth. We loved seeing her wear her special glasses she wore!
Handmade bracelets for Charity
Our very own Year 5 student, Penny, has been crafting beautiful handmade bracelets using string and beads. Her mission is to support Cherry Trees, a local charity dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children with disabilities. Each bracelet is priced at just £2. For those who wish to add a personal touch, Penelope is also accepting custom orders. Penny will be selling these bracelets at breaktime until the end of term, we kindly ask everyone to bring in the exact amount as change will not be provided. Please show our support for her hard work and the wonderful cause she’s championing.

• Gymnastics
However, please note that the following clubs will not be in session:

Additionally, we would like to remind you that there will be no After School Care available on Friday, 5th July. On this day, school will conclude at 4:15pm. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Chess Club
After hearing about a 3D-printed Chess Set, Chess Club were excited to actually see it, study the beautifully created pieces, and some girls played a match too. Thank you to Mr Bradford for telling the girls all about how he created it using a 3D printer; the board as well as the pieces. It was a real treat to see this and we all loved Mr Bradford's enthusiasm for the game. We're hoping he, and other teachers, will join us to play some matches in Chess Club at the end of term.

This will be an outdoor concert on Mairlot Lawn, and we very much hope that parents, family and friends will attend.

Year 6 Leavers Liturgy, 3rd July, 14:00 - 15:45
The Leavers' Liturgy is replacing the Leavers' Mass initially scheduled for 18th June. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by this change, especially given the clash with the Cranmore Sports Day. Unfortunately, we were unable to secure a priest for the original date, and this was the only alternative available. We apologise for any confusion caused by the bulletin's earlier announcements and appreciate your understanding.
Mrs Conrad would like to invite our Year 6 families to celebrate their time at the Prep School with a special Leavers’ Liturgy followed by a cream tea and refreshments in the school grounds.
The liturgy will take place in the Chapel and the refreshments will follow at 3pm. Parents are most welcome to join us for both. Please may you complete this form to confirm your attendance.
Please may the Year 6 girls wear their winter uniform with blazers for this special event.

This week, our talented Year 5 Chorus had their first rehearsal with the Year 6 cast, marking an exciting milestone in our school's production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." U11A IAPS Cricket Competition Ashford
The U11A cricket team travelled to Ashford School in Kent on Wednesday to take part in the hardball IAPS competition. The girls were very excited and couldn't wait for their first match to get started. It was against Saint Ronans School, unfortunately our girls were not mentally prepared, missed out on valuable runs and we lost this first match. However, that didn't stop them going in at full force for the second match against Ashford School. This was a tight game with Ashford School batting second knowing the runs they needed they won by 2 runs. So Close and very frustrating for our girls! The last match was played mostly in the rain and our girls had a fantastic last game to finish. Some close fielding, excellent bowling and great batting meant we finished with a win! The girls should be super proud of their achievement this year with hardball cricket.
U10 & U11 WSA Athletics
On Wednesday the U12-U14 girls competed in the WSA meet at Guildford spectrum. Well done to all the girls who participated, we are incredibly proud of them and how well they did in their first proper athletics event! Some highlights of the day include: Zara H achieved 4th place in the High Jump. Isabella K achieved 1st place in 800m (PB and invited to represent west Surrey at the

You may have noticed that we are now one horse short since the May Half Term. The lovely Roxy has gone home and has moved to a local track livery where she has settled in and is very happy. We are very grateful to Roxy and her owners for being a joy to look after and we will miss seeing her gorgeous face greeting us in the mornings.
It is always sad to say goodbye to one of our beloved four-legged friends, but we know that they cannot stay with us forever and that they have a home to go back to who will love them as much as us.
You can still vote for Roxy and Mr T for Best STE Pony for Prize Giving, the ballot box is in the STE office!
