Dear Parents,
This week we have celebrated values week with the culmination of our ‘Stained-Glass Window’ Art competition which has seen some amazingly emotive and thoughtful entries; we have participated in Breakeoke celebrations with our Senior School staff and girls and reflected on ‘Faith’ our Value of the Year.
Mrs Conrad commenced the week with an assembly on the upcoming election; one of our Year 5 girls has stepped forward in the value of compassion and created a bracelet stall to raise money for Cherry Trees charity which she is selling at lunch breaks; on Monday our U11 cricket team had an amazing day and won their tournament; Year 6 Joseph production work now has costumes and a stage – Mrs Gibson’s excitement is almost through the roof; we celebrated excellent swim medals for Zara in Year 5 during celebration assembly this morning including a gold medal for the medley and we sang happy birthday to Mr Tindall (myself) who was considerably older than Clara who turns 11 this week; and then our Year 5 Mathematicians went to their last masterclass!
While it has been a busy week of completing reports, analysing Progress results and teaching our lessons – it has felt oddly calm and we have even had moments to stop and enjoy the sunshine.
But hold on tight because we are flying into the last two weeks, get ready for: Tennis, T-Fest and the Summer Production ‘Joseph’ coming up next week.
However:
“Don’t count the days. Make the days count.” Muhammad Ali
Best Wishes, Gareth Tindall
WATCH OUT FORTICKS!
Please be mindful that we are in tick season and would like to remind the girls to check themselves regularly, particularly after sitting or walking through grassy areas. Ticks can carry Lymes disease. Please see this leaflet for more information: Tick awareness

U8 Manor House Athletics Meet
On Friday 14th a group of the U8 girls travelled away to compete in an athletics meet at Manor House. The girls competed in a range of throwing, jumping, short and long distance running events. The girls had a great meet and we were incredibly impressed by the athleticism on show throughout the afternoon. Well done to all the girls who participated at the meet, we cannot wait to see them all participating again at sports day! Some notable achievements include: 1st place in 80m sprint - Isabelle C, 1st place in 150m sprint Kitty N
St Catherines Tennis
On Saturday our Tennis players took on St Catherine's School. The weather was against us and this fixture really was a test of character. Through intermittent showers and some windy conditions the St Teresa's players showed fantastic resilience and determination. The girls did us proud and continued to smile and play despite the downpours. Most of the girls were victorious in their matches and should be commended for their stoicism.
U11 Cricket
The U1 cricket team competed in the final of the Surrey Starburst Competition after progressing through the two previous rounds. The team was drawn in a group with Croydon High School and Manor Park Primary. The first game against Croydon high School was a close match but thanks to Olivia. P’s batting, the team surpassed Croydon’s total. The next group game against Manor Park Primary was more comfortable with the team hitting boundaries and plenty of dot balls bowled by the bowlers. This result meant we topped the group and progressed to the semifinals. In the semifinals, St Teresa’s faced Wimbledon High School. We won the toss and put Wimbledon into bat first. Excellent wickets were taken by Alice. F and Lilia-Anna. H with many runs being saved by the girls in the field. Wimbledon set us 244 to win. Our batting started slowly which made it a cagey affair. Rachel. H and Stefanie V E stepped up by scoring 33 runs in two overs which helped us over the line to progress into the final.
In the final we met Holy Cross Preparatory School, who were a very organised team in the field with some fast bowlers. St Teresa’s batted first and set a target of 245 for Holy Cross. In defence of our score, the girls all bowled fantastically taking 5 wickets across the innings which included some excellent deliveries and brilliant fielding resulting in catches and run outs. This significantly helped and meant that Holy Cross could only score 239 runs meaning St Teresa’s were crowned champions. A huge congratulations to the team who all played important roles!
