This week has been very exciting, the horses have new shoes! On Monday, the farriers came and shoed the horses, and a specialist horse farrier came to do Wizard’s hooves because he has sensitive feet. Wizard was practically falling asleep because he was enjoying it so much! This pony of the week this week is… Twinkle! ~ Libby C

This Week May has traditionally been the month when we reflect on the uniquely significant character of Mary. Each year we honour Mary, the mother of Jesus, not just for one day but for the whole of the month. Of course, we are not worshipping Mary, God alone is worshipped. However, we do honour Mary. She is, in the first instance, the mother of Jesus. That intimate relationship between Mary and her son is the relationship that is offered to each and every one of us. Mary, the first among the disciples, faithfully followed Jesus and is the model to all of us of how to faithfully respond to God’s call in our lives and to follow Jesus. Mary was with the Church on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended and empowered the Church for her mission to bring the Good News to the world. And she was the first follower of Jesus to experience the resurrection and to enter into the eternal life offered to us all. This year in particular we remembered one of Mary’s other special titles - Mother of Peace. At this time when our world is so troubled, particularly by the war in Ukraine, we asked Mary to pray for us from her heavenly home. Our image for this week shows Mary and Jesus dressed in the traditional costume of Ukraine, as she joins her prayers with ours for Peace. The prayer, the Hail Mary (based on Luke 1:28) is presented here both in English and in Ukrainian.
