Another school year draws to a close and as the busyness of term time fades away to be replaced by the long summer break, the children have the chance to stop and take stock of all they have achieved. They will have faced their own personal challenges, some harder than others, but they have persevered and enjoyed success. For some this might have been in the classroom, for others on the sporting fields, or even in their wider pursuits. They will all have their own perspective on what the most difficult or rewarding parts of the year have been and that is what makes each learning journey so special. Over this year, we have considered the importance of faith, and they have had the chance to develop their faith in themselves and others. Although fixtures have finished, the children have had the opportunity to support their friends over the course of our Sports Days. There was a great sense of fun and good sporting behaviour on display right the way across the Prep from the Early Years up to Year 6. The weather was kind and, although Upper Prep had to battle through some showers, they showed great grit and determination in their track and field events.
On behalf of everyone here, please allow me to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every child for the unique gifts and talents that they have brought to the life of our school over the past academic year. Thanks must also go to the staff, parents and governors for their committed support of the children and school.
I wish everyone a pleasant summer break.
Mr Heaver

Lower Prep Sports Day
The Lower Prep children had a wonderful Sports Day this week. The sun came out for us and the children thoroughly enjoyed their morning, showing true sportsmanship, determination and camaraderie. The way they cheered each other on and celebrated each other’s successes was wonderful to see. From the long jump, to variety races to the 200m sprint we were so proud of every child. What a wonderful event!
Upper Prep Sports Day
The slightly colder weather conditions did not dampen the spirits of the Upper Prep pupils as they took part in their annual Sports Day. Congratulations to all who took part and made this a very enjoyable occasion.
Year 6 Gladiators Activity
Year 6 enjoyed an afternoon of outdoor games and activities to mark the end of Activities Week. They tumbled through an inflatable assault course, took part in a Gladiators-style knock-out duel, and practised their accuracy in an inflatable penalty-shootout. It was lovely to be able to come together as a year group and do something a little bit different as we approach the end of the year and, for some, the end of their time at Cranmore. Well done, Year 6, on a super year at the top of the Upper Prep.
Mr Lamport, Head of Year 6
Upper Prep Reading Challenge Celebration
On Thursday all those pupils who had completed this year’s Upper Prep Reading Challenge attended a celebratory meeting during which the winning book was revealed, certificates were distributed and hot chocolate and cookies were consumed with glee! Mr Everitt and Mrs Watkinson congratulated the pupils on their wonderful achievement and reiterated how vitally important reading is for their academic achievement.
Well done to all who took part!
Year 5 Maths Masterclasses
St Teresa’s was delighted to offer five Primary Mathematics Masterclasses throughout this academic year in association with the Royal Institution.
The series of workshops were led by enthusiastic Year 12 students who are studying STEM subjects and undertaking a Royal Institution Masterclass project under teacher supervision at St Teresa’s. The masterclasses offered the students a fun and inclusive opportunity to investigate mathematical ideas outside the curriculum and explore the wider aspects of the subject.
The five pupils chosen by their teachers at Cranmore school to attend the entire series of five sessions were: Arthur W, James B, Henry B, Hugo P and Max C.
These pupils along with their parents and teachers were invited to celebrate their success at an event in the Royal Institute in London on Saturday 29th June 2024 from 10.00 to 14.30. Two wonderful mathematicians, Zoe Griffiths – who talked about ‘The power of patterns’ and Rob Eastaway who shared his knowledge on ‘Puzzling Surprises’ attended the event.
Arthur W had the opportunity to share that his favourite masterclass was on magic squares and Alison Eves, the masterclass coordinator, showed her magic square necklace to the audience, which was a nice surprise! It was a fantastic day out.

Reflection Amen
"Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible."
St Francis of Assisi
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The Word of the Lord
Thanks be to God
Reflection
This week we focus on the gift of Faith.
As we come to the end of this academic year I want to encourage you to see yourselves as God sees you. Full of possibilities and potential. May you know that you have a definite purpose and may faith grow within you. May you see the divine image in yourself so that you are also able to see it in your friends and neighbours too.
