Another busy week and another mixed bag of weather!
Ms Ebdy and the MFL team put on a fantastic array of activities for the children to celebrate the European Day of Languages and we followed this up with a wonderful assembly from Miss Gallop. The children absolutely loved the European Languages photo booth sessions and the lunch menu choices were also popular.
The children also marked our EST Safer Internet Week, raising awareness around staying safe online. Year 2 learnt about the importance of not sharing personal information and across other years the children have talked about what to do if they see something online that they do not like or understand.
Nursey have been getting into an autumnal mood with some beautiful artwork and our Lower Prep School Councillors met for the first time this year. The children were all enthusiastic and certainly seemed to be enjoying their morning pastries and juice! In the coming weeks, we will have our Upper Prep School Council elections.
Thank you to Ms Fagan for organising Year 6’s STEM talk. Our visiting speaker shared his expertise on engineering and it was great that the boys could see some real-world applications for what they have studied.
On the sporting fields, our U10s have enjoyed continued success with a great victory in Saturday’s tournament prevailing in the final on penalties. Good luck to everyone involved in tomorrow’s 7-a-side tournament.

Year 2 Learning about Online Safety
In Year 2 we have been learning about the importance of being safe online. We have learnt the importance of using unique passwords and not sharing them. We have learnt how to search safely on the internet using filters and how to write and send an email safely.
Last weekend saw Cranmore competing across four different sports. While we hosted our annual U8 and U10 football tournaments on the Henderson, our U14 and U16 rugby teams were in action against Reigate Grammar and Royal Alexandra & Albert School. Congratulations to our 16s, who still remain unbeaten. At the same time, members of our ski squad were competing at the ESSKIA Regional Qualifiers in Aldershot. Cranmore had a great representation and we are hopeful that 3 teams out of our 5 have qualified for the National Finals. Later, on Saturday evening, Cranmore attended the ESSA relay qualifiers.
Across the Prep school, football fixtures have taken place against Feltonfleet, Kings College Wimbledon, Cranleigh Prep, Milbourne Lodge and Surbiton Prep.
Good luck to our U11s football team tomorrow who are participating in the Feltonfleet 7-a-side football tournament.

This Week
Bible Reading
The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Mark 4
Reflection
Sometimes as we journey and move through life we can face storms. These can often take us by surprise. Life can be unpredictable. The Disciples recognise Jesus as Teacher, but after this miracle as more than a Teacher. We too may think we know Jesus. But we must continue to grow in our knowledge of the one who can calm the storms.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
Prayer
Lord, bring peace and calm to the storms I am facing or may face in the future. Remind us all that you are with us and that you control the waters. We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.”
